Cafe Noir

WHOA, so tasty! We had the Salade de Fromage and the Alskan Cod. SOOOOO good. It was really quiet for a Saturday night but it was a holiday weekend!
Definetly going back!

What a cute little French restaurant! We went for an early lunch so there was plenty of seating. I asked to be seated in their back patio, which was nice and cool and so cute! I love the chandelier decor and printed wall. Our hostess/waitress was so sweet. I read other reviews on the service being excellent and I could not agree more!

Soup: We tried both their french onion soup and zucchini puree soup. I actually thought the two soup complimented each other having it together. Their french onion soup was still a bit on the more salty side then I would have liked it but it's not as bad as some other places. It also had a good amount of cheese in it. After having that and trying the zucchini soup it really brings out the taste of the zucchini. It was delicious!

Plat de Jour: We had the seafood fettuccine and Hazelnut trout. They were both good, but did not stand out to me.

Dessert:  We tried the bread pudding with their homemade walnut ice cream and Strawberry basil panna cotta. I LOVED the panna cotta! It was so refreshing and the walnut ice cream was yummy as well.

Overall, this was a lovely lunch experience and I cannot wait to go back to try other stuff during their happy hour! Happy hour is 3pm - 7pm!

I went to a baby shower that was hosted by Cafe Noir today.  I love the decor!  Black chandeliers with black crystals, the gothic style frames that were attached to the back of the seating, the outdoor space with a covered top that would protect you from rain (not that we have that much) and the black mesh that was below the hard plastic sheets that also lessened the brightness of the sun.  This cute place is definitely going to have me coming back!  If I am fair the service was a little slow when it came to refilling drinks. With that being said we were being served by the owners wife (that's what one of my friends told me) who isn't really a server.  I loved how she spoke French to me but not in full sentences.  Just stuff like "Monsieur".  I also think that a white skirt isn't appropriate for waiting tables.  White shows all the stains and when your skirt is sorta stained from food....well that's not ideal.  However, most places choose white so this isn't a detractor from this place.  Just a suggestion.  I also realize that with a large party there is going to be slower service.  I feel they should have had a couple people watching over us.  WIth that being said I am sure with a smaller group this place would be top notch with service.  This is not a bad review!  I loved this place.  Everyone was SUPER FRIENDLY! I just like to be honest with the things I noticed.  I'd also suggest a brighter light in the "Monsieur" room.  WIth coming from outside to go to the restroom it was so darkly lit that I was afraid I would wee on my feet! The food presentation was to die for!  I loved how they served their different coffees and the water glass bottles they would leave for us to use on the tables.  I had a glorious time with my friends there and I think this place for making my friends first baby shower such a success!  AMAZING!  (yes I am a hard critic and you should try this place out!).  I'm happy that I went!
