Went on a weekday with my daughter. The restaurant looks newly remodeled and is quite nice. We were instantly greeted by a very friendly  server who was also the only waitress. We ordered won ton soup, oyster sauce beef, chow mein, steamed rice and two soft drinks. The drinks and the food came in about five minutes. The won ton soup was delicious, the oyster sauce beef also great but the chow mein was a little bland and the portion size a little small, but we're not big eaters so it didn't really matter, just less to take home for leftovers. Overall, the restaurant is nice and the service and food are good. We will definitely be coming back.
Review Source:OK, Had a visitor over from the lovely state of Hawaii that swore she hadn't had good Chinese food for 3 years, the entire time she lived in Hawaii. Â Being it was a Monday night and I had to go to work the next day, we decided to go to a local restaurant. Â I've been to Canton Garden before, but a long, long time ago (Hi Iris!) so the place wasn't new to me. Â The neighborhood is WAY sketchier than it used to be ( there was a robbery next door while we ate) but WOW what value. Â
We ordered the Family dinner that cost 9.95 per person. Â Can't remember what it was called. Â We substitued Hot & Sour soup for the Won Ton soup, and ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, General Tso Chicken and Combo Chow Mein as our entrees. Â These came with fried rice, BBQ pork and deep fried prawns as an appetizer. Â The chicken dishes might have been a bit over fried, but all the food was yummy, especially the chow mein, and the price was so reasonable, and my visitor from Hawaii was very satisfied.
I don't know if I'd want to come back to eat here, but I'd definitely order to go.
I tried this place for the first time after a long day in the city. I'm very happy to say that they made my day a whole lot better. Definitely not one of the best looking places, but they do know what they're doing in the kitchen.
A real whole in the wall restaurant in what looks like a really run down shopping plaza, but you'll find gold at this place! Somebody should seriously think about relocating this franchise to Lone Tree Way where all the other restaurants are. A lot more traffic, for one of the better chinese restaurants.
I got a combo plate for a little over $10. Thought it was going to be a little steep, but what I got out of it was perfect. Even the other guys around the table got different plates that looked like more than enough. Mine came with a heaping bowl of wonton soup, fried wontons with a sweet dipping sauce, bbq pork, the house fried rice, and two entrees of my choice, the kung pao chicken and the honey walnut prawns.
A whole lot that I did not expect. The quality of the the food is awesome. Flavors are delicious. And the waitress even helps you get exactly what you want. So we left her a nice tip.
Great food, great service, and for a fair price. What more could you want?
They've remodeled! Â Looking alot more modern and up to date!.. The back area look like it could be a dance floor or something but its still in the works.
Anyways - I always stop by everytime I am in Brentwood. Â I don't know of another place in Brentwood that I can get authentic Chinese food. Â Yes, the restaurant is in a sketchy Old Brentwood area, but I think its well worth it. Â The area is not as developed as Lone Tree and HWY 4 bypass area. Â Plus, this place has TONS of parking.
I always go for the mix fried rice, honey walnut prawns, spicy chicken wings, and HK style pan fried noodles. Â Those are more must haves! Â The food is consistently good! Â It sucks that there isn't much traffic that comes through here, defintely a HIDDEN GEM!
The people here are also super friendly and attentative - major plus when enjoying my Chinese food.
Yes, the area is probably thee worst in brentwood. But the food here is good. They make one of the best egg foo young dishes in eastern contra costa county.Vegetable dishes are fresh.Chow mein good.Soup very good.A little pricey if you order one item at a time.Order combo plates for about $7-$8.Nice people. They would do very well if they were in a different area. But they have been in that so called shopping area for along time and surviving,so people must love them.I go about once every 2 months.
