I usually stop at this San Clemente location on my way down to San Diego from Los Angeles. Â
I recently stopped at that location on 11/19/12 and also on 11/29/12. Â Both times the men's bathroom did not have any soap for people to wash their hands; both soap dispensers were empty. Â
This location is obviously not checking the bathrooms as often as they need to. Â I understand one dispenser being out, but for both of them to be out means it wasn't checked for quite a while. Â
Of course there is the possibility that they just happen to both go out at once so I didn't complain the first time it happened. Â But when it happened a second time just a week and half later, it showed that this is a problem. Â The chances of both soap dispensers being out at the exact same time are slim if the bathrooms are checked as often as they should be, but for this to happen twice within two weeks? Â No excuse for that. Â
Not only could people Not wash their hands, but more importantly it means employees didn't wash their hands either. Â This is a major health risk. Â Bathrooms should be checked regularly so that this problem NEVER happens. Â I for one will not be going back to this location and I hope the health department investigates and penalizes them for this serious problem.
The other problem with this location is the food is always put together very sloppy and sometimes not very hot.
Pros: It is an average Carl's Jr.
Cons: Too many unbathed surfers stinking up the place. Not sure if the staff actually speaks English.
Overall not a bad visit, par for the course as far as fast food goes.
I would not recommend eating in for lunch as the place services the majority of the locals coming straight from the beach. Also, being the first place with drive thru on the 5N makes the drive thru crowded at lunch.
