Good enough joint because the customers seem a little more local and non-party oriented. On an average week night if you want to watch a game you'll find it half-full, with a few people drinking a little too much.
It's exactly what you'd expect for a sports bar. C grade food, lots of drink selections, and all the games you'd want to see.
My only complaint is the waitresses. They seem more enamored with their friends or doing nothing than helping. I'm not the only person to notice this and write it up apparently--look at a couple of the other reviews.
Overall, passable, and good for seeing a game if you want to chill out for a while.
Nothing special. Would be a really great place to go to watch a game and drink some beer with friends. Our service was also pleasant. But don't go here if you're looking for a really good culinary experience. The food here is good, but it's on the same lines as Applebee's or any of those generic american restaurants. Big portions and reasonable prices.
Review Source:The atmosphere was nice and clean... and you can't mess up beer. Â I was extremely disappointed in the food though. Â My pizza, which came highly recommended by the bartender, sat in the window for a solid 10 minutes, the nachos taste and appear like all the ingredients are from a can or jar (cheese whiz-esque). Â I think the fries were Ore-Ida and the tenders from a bag as well. Â Below average overall.
Review Source:I've been to two ale house locations and what I can say is they are consistent. Â Bar service at both locations is professional friendly and efficient. Â Food s always good, prepared correctly, hot and brought out fast. Â Great selection of local and home grown craft beers and very good specials on all others.
Only negative that is also consistent is the lack of friendless or knowledge by the host people. Â Me to host - do you have the volume on for the playoff game upstairs? Â Host to me - I have no idea. Â Me - blank state waiting for a 'I can call up or ask the manager or send someone to check.' But on this visit I guess it was up to us to make the trip up stairs to find out on our own....of course in this visit we walked out and went someplace else. Â But otherwise, I like the place and continue to go back.
Woodruff rd locations seems better run than downtown.
I came here to watch some football the first week of the NCAA season because I know what their food is like. The waitress seemed rather confused about everything, and very dismissive or distant. I ordered wigs which come either classic fried or grilled. I wanted the grilled, unfortunately I forgot to mention this and the waitress never asked. So I got stuck eating something I didn't really want, but since it was partially my fault I didn't complain. The wings were still very good in taste. Â There are plenty of TV's here to watch the games and what not. This one is much closer to home and parking is easier and better than for the Ale House down town.
Review Source:Lots of different beers, pretty good food. I don't recommend the pizza. The crust isn't pizza crust it is more like a thin tortilla. I sent mine back. They have a decent burger and the wings are great! Love all the TV's! Great place to go for drinks and starters while watching a game.
Review Source:First time at this place,  real sports bar set-up , lots of clemson and south carolina  displays and athletes all over the walls, not too noisy like alot of sports bars, had the burger, it was very good , fries are really good also, menu had a pretty wide selection, from salads to steaks and wings. waiter was ok, maybe she had alot of tables, nothing to write home to mom about.
Review Source:I went in with low expectations having visited "ale houses" in Florida. I was surprised. They had 42 beer taps with a very good selection of beer. New Belgium, RJ Rockers, Dogfish Head, and Rogue were prominent. On the negative side, they were out of several items at the bar, early on a Saturday night. Food was above average for a chain. The buffalo shrimp in the appetizer were overcooked and rubbery but the Cajun pasta was quite good. Atmosphere was classic sports bar. They have more TV's than I've ever seen outside of Best Buy. Â If you're looking for a family-friendly place to watch a game, this is it.
Review Source:First time eating at this location, it was a bit disappointing.  Slow  service, burger overcooked then had to wait again.  Come to find out after all that, they stopped making my favorite dessert of all time - the Nacho sundae, which really brought my experience to an all new low.  The staff was friendly and apologetic but I will not be running back anytime in the near future - but will eat there again.
