Thanks be to god, a good restaurant in voorhees! Posh, delish, BUSY, fun. Love it. I had great short ribs with polenta, the raw bar is expensive but good, and this cheesecake cake pop that I dream about. I love love love it! Please do not let this gem close like everything else echelon touches!
Update: the servers need training on the menu. Almost ever visit there is something way off, including TWICE now my husband has been awarded veal cutlets in parm rather than the CHOP he asks for and he even repeats himself! The chop. The one with the bone. Still wrong.
My husband and I tried this restaurant out for the first time tonight for our 10 year anniversary. We had a great time!
The "social" tasting dishes were awesome (blackened shrimp, tuna cannelloni, cheese plate, and crab cakes). We also ordered the Filet Mignon and Zuppa di Pesce. Needless to say, we had to take some food home (although, we couldn't stop tasting while it was in front of us). We ordered a lot, but it was all so good!
Service was spot on. It's one of the louder restaurants I've been to in a while, but you get over that very quickly if it's something that bothers you. A fun atmosphere, great food, and a great time. We will be back.
Went for dinner with my good friend..food was ok, not as good as original Catelli, but nice decor and ambiance..service was "ok" as well but felt a bit rushed towards the end, since they asked us about 5 times if we were done/wanted our food wrapped up. Looks more like a nice neighborhood bar spot
Review Source:Food was below average and overpriced. Â The $18 bland meatless Bolognese was a joke. Â We were sat in a back banquet type room by the bathrooms that offered zero ambiance. Â Had an open table reservation but it seemed like an area they dump/seat people when the main restaurant is full. Â Picture eating overpriced, bland food in a office/conference type room. Â Is there a zero star option?

The wife and I lived two minutes from Catelli Duo. With the kitchen all packed up for my upcoming move, finally getting the chance to dine at Catelli Duo before leaving Voorhees sounded like a good way to kick-off our week of eating out. In addition, my father-in-law was in town and it's always good to eat an expensive dinner on his dime.
The decor of the restaurant is swanky. It can easily pass for an establishment in NYC or Rittenhouse Square. I can see myself enjoy a cocktail at the indoor or outdoor bar, when the weather stays consistently warm.
I was with a party of six so we were seated at one of those oval booths. It is a great concept but if you are sitting at the end of the table inside the booth, it can become pretty crowded with plates and glasses around, and made sharing appetizers a little difficult.
My party started out with a round of appetizers. One of the couples in the party had dined at Catelli prior to this visit and recommended the wings, and we ordered a small plate of calamari. In addition to these dishes, my father-in law already made up his mind that we were going to try the $20 meatball. The Osteria wings had some flavor but a little undercooked to my liking. The meatball was good but it wasn't a homerun hitter; especially for twenty bucks. The calamari was probably the best of them all but it tasted like calamari.
The entrees that I had the pleasure of eating were my wife's Cavatelli, house-made cavatelli, broccoli rabe, sausage, and white beans, and the Short Rib which I ordered for myself. The short ribs were just a tad bit dry for me, it was little chewy for short-ribs. The flavor of the Short Ribs however was pretty good. My wife was so kind to share her cavatelli with me. Which after tasting, I understood why she was so generous; the entire dish was bland. Â When the waiter took it to the kitchen to box it up, someone in the kitchen accidently dumped it in the garbage. The staff was so kind to make her a new full size order to go. I have to admit, that demonstrates great service, but she would have been fine leaving the restaurant without it.
There are some pretty appetizing items on the menu, so I will surely dine at Catelli Duo again. I just hope that my next experience is better than my first.
I ate here a few weeks ago and I was impressed by everything. Â The design and decor inside is among the nicest I have seen in a long time. Â Very modern, very clean. Â The outdoor patio seems like it will be a hot spot once the weather breaks for the better. Â It's really nice out there.
My wife and I split the cheesesteak egg roll and the stuffed long hots. Â They were both great. Â The short ribs in the long hots was very tender and I will definitely be getting the short rib meal the next time I'm there.
For our entrees I had the grilled chicken paillard and my wife had one of the specials which was shrimp and lobster over homemade pasta. Both were very good. Â They didn't skimp on the seafood in the pasta at all, it was full of it. Â The chicken paillard was really good and the broccoli rabe that accompanied it was among the best I've ever eaten. Â Not bitter at all. Â The farro was something different and I liked the risk they took with it and it goes well with the broccoli rabe. Â
For dessert we just split the krispy kreme bread pudding. Â It was really good and we both wish we had gotten another dessert as well since the menu had a lot of good options.
Service was plenty good and I could tell the kitchen was really hustling because we sat near it. Â I was at the original Catelli only once and it just felt like a retirement home with little ambiance and standard italian fare. Â This reboot is infinitely better and once you step inside you don't even feel like you are in a strip mall, it's just warm and seems like a great place to just hang out with friends. Â The martini list looked damn good too...those will be in my crosshairs when I return.
We tried a number of the starters/appetizers and the duo (larger) portion was plenty for 3 people to share. We had the stuffed long hots (short rib and cheese) were delicious, the osteria wings, calamari and a dozen oysters on the half shell all were also very good.
We ended up all getting the 16 oz. Cowgirl Ribeye as our entree and you have a choice of getting it grilled, blackened or espresso rubbed with the following available sauces: Au Jus/Brandy Peppercorn/Bernaise/Mushroom Marsala.
We had the au jus and the Brandy Peppercorn which was just perfect - really delish!
Dessert: had the fried zeppoli, the hot chocolate soufflé and the seasonal berries with sabayon. We didn't try the Krispy Kreme bread pudding, but definitely next time!

I'm impressed. Â Catelli Duo has revamped the old Catelli with a new spot and new menu that is competitive and appealing.
I ordered the braised short ribs on truffle risotto... yeah you read that right. get it!
Next time I want to try the Signature Meatball App (One pound custom house grind Kobe Beef and Catelli Brothers Veal)!
Hello!
Went here last night for a first date after having baby with my wife. We honestly were just looking for a night away from home but were pleasantly surprised by Duo.
Location and free valet parking made it really convenient to get to.
My wife had the 24 k martini which was a decent size and strength for 10 dollars. Really nice selection of Martinis to choose from.
We tried the gnucci and the cheese plate for appetizers and wife looooved the cheese plate. It must be a new trendy thing for cheese plates to go on menus. The gnucci was very potatoey but in a good way. They were little light pillow puffs of goodness in amazing cream sauce. It also had asparagus and mushrooms. Would have been perfect, too bad I don't like mushrooms. I did ask for without but I guess they couldn't do it that way.
For dinner, my wife had a tender short rib over risotto. Nothing too special here. One of the biggest faults of the meal was a little undercooked risotto.
I had the veal cutlet with a fried egg on top and a little cream sauce fettuccine underneath. A little bit of crisp prosciutto made this dish amazing. Not sure i understood the egg when I ordered it but I did when I was eating the dish. The veal reminded me of my Italian grandmothers cooking. Verrrry good.
For desert, we tried the baked Alaska. A required taste that I enjoyed but wife did not like as much.
The dinner porTions are not huge but just enough. Next time we are going to order just a lot of tapas and try some different things. There are always bound to be hit or miss items on any menu.
If there was three and a half stars we prob would have done that but considering the decor was pretty nice though a tad dusty and our server was good, we puShed it to four.
Don't waste your money. Â I'll be honest with the pros and cons. Â Pros: good lunch prices, good variety of reasonably healthy choices, nice modern design, clean bathrooms, and our waiter was friendly. Â Cons: food was mediocre at best, service was slow (and the restaurant was relatively empty), the back room was about 58 degrees and drafty. Â I expect better pasta than Barilla from an Italian restaurant and my lobster bisque came out lukewarm with a skin forming on top. The "lump crab meat" in the soup? Â There were literally three little lumps. Â It was also loaded with salt. Â My husband said his chicken parm was okay, but by looking at it I could tell that the meat could have lasted 10 more seconds in the oil before it was burnt. Everyone raved about the breakfast dishes though, and the salmon with hollandaise did look very appetizing. Â In summary, there are too many wonderful restaurants in the area to bother with Catelli.
Review Source:I was somewhat disappointed with my visit on Friday night to Catelli Duo.
A review in the local paper propelled my interest in trying their dessert, and so off I went to the town center.
I absolutely loved the modern decor, from fun drinking glasses to wine bottle art in the walls, but the server situation was a bit different.
First, a girl came over, introduced herself as our server, rattled off information about the restaurant, and walked away. Soon thereafter, a guy walked up, introduced himself as our server, and then said that she had simply been covering for him. He then repeated off all of the information about the restaurant that we had already heard, despite us pointing out that we had already heard it. Okay then.
Unfortunately, his demeanor didn't change throughout the meal, as a constant dazed "I really don't want to be here right now" look graced his face.
The salads -- pear and caesar, were both excellent. Entrees? Disappointing to say the least. The $19 chicken parm had absolutely no flavor to it. I decided to doggy bag most of it in hopes of doctoring it up a bit.
The meal savior came in way of dessert.
The hot chocolate soufflé? Worth the 12-minute prep time wait. I'd certainly recommend.
I would probably visit Catelli Duo again sometime, albeit with a different perspective.
My experience with Catelli began on a good foot several months ago. As a student that lives in the area, the idea of Catelli being so close was the perfect solution for getting through a hard exam block. My initial visits were not all that bad. They provided a "reverse happy hour" which began at 11pm, the perfect time to get friends together and unwind after a long day of studying.
Having gone there as a dinner patron, I really disliked the service. Although the wait staff was nice and somewhat knowledgeable about the menu, the rest of the staff really had no clue what was going on. I have worked in a few different restaurants before entering professional school (ranging from fine dining to a popular shore diner) and I can immediately tell that the staff was unorganized and not properly trained for dinner service at what should be a "fine dining" establishment. That being said, their food is delicious. Where they lacked in hiring front of the house staff, the people in the back of the house are really doing a great job.
My most recent visit is what promoted me to write this review. Last night a few of my classmates and I got together at the bar for what we thought would be "reverse happy hour" at 11pm. We were deceived after ordering our drinks and hearing that we were charged the full price. Although the bartender had apologized, we would have much preferred being told that they are no longer providing "reverse happy hour" since we have been pretty regular patrons for that specific drink special. Be weary of the hype about this establishment, the food is amazing, but the management is really for the birds.
I was very excited to try this restaurant after the original closed. Â Waited for the newly opened buzz to die down, and hopefully the front of house staff to have their kinks worked out. Â Made our reservation on Open Table, upon arriving a half hour early to have a drink at the bar first, when I checked in I was told to come up when we were ready. Â After having the Dirty CEO- my favorite dirty martini w/ bleu cheese stuffed olives, I approached the host stand only to be told by a different hostess that now my table was not available and it would be a half hour wait. Â We ordered another drink at the bar, saw people who arrived after us being sat 15 minutes into our wait. Â I decided to approach the host stand again, this time speaking with the original hostess that said she had been waiting for me and has been holding my table. Â Communication breakdown at the host stand between these two girls!
Once we were sat and approached by our server, we immediately ordered apps because we were starving! Â We ordered calamari and the lamb chops. Â Calamari was fine, the lamb chops were excellent! Â For entrees, I had the Veal Chop Saltimbocca style which was cooked perfectly. Â My boyfriend and the other couple had items such as the Filet and a seafood pasta which they described as nothing special, and there was a chicken dish that was just that, just a chicken dish- definitely nothing special.
I would like to give this another shot as I really enjoyed the ambience and some of the dishes. Â But, I will give them more time to work out some more kinks!
I am really suprised to read the bad reviews for Catelli Duo. I have been here about 5 times already and have been very happy each time. There aren't many quailty resturants in South Jersey that offer Prime meats, quality homemade from scratch pastas, and well executed food.
Of course, any resturant starts off a bit rocky their first week of opening (and I see the bad reviews are from that time) but remember, hospitality staff is a dime a dozen and they are surely weeding out the bad and keeping the good.
That being said, I have tried almost everything on the menu.
In my opinion, the lobster bisque could have been slightly less acidic but thats personal opinion.
The crabcakes, lamb chops, cheesesteak rolls, wings, and blackened shrimp are out of this world.
The seafood ravioli (dont look at the price) is WELL worth it. It might seem costly, but remember these are hand made ravioli will 100% lobster and crab stuffing with lumps of meat and shrimp on top.
The dessert is also remarkable.
The outside area is a cool hang out, especially when the fire place is on and the bar staff is excellent.
I have sugar issues and they immediatly gave me agave to help because i felt like i was going to pass out. It was very nive of them to go stop what they were doing to help me get my levels back up.
In fact, I am going again tonight!
I have no complaints at all and I am very hard to please.
thank you catelli due for bringing quiality ingrediants to south jersey.
Friday 6pm reservation for some reason was not available on OpenTable on my iPhone, but was available online. Â The restaurant we originally could not find, only because the area next to the mall is brand new and was uncharted territory for us.
The decor is beautiful and warm and the floor plan separates the space into separate dining rooms. Â The bar seems nice as well, and was packed when we got there at ten of six. Â We were seated immediately by a very nice hostess in a room that was empty except one large, very loud table with unruly children.
I was expecting a Fleming's ambiance (semi-quiet with mostly adults), and was "treated" to a Ground Round circus (kids running around SCREAMING, parents not paying attention). Â Understandably Catelli Duo cannot control the clientele, but when a reservation is made for two adults who have no kids in tow, it might behoove the hostess to seat said couple somewhere quieter. (We should have asked for another table, but did not. Â Shame on us.)
We both started off with the Chopped Salad which was very good and fresh. Â Prosciutto, salami, greens, provolone, olives in a balsamic reduction that was nice and sweet which helped cut the saltiness of the ingredients.
I ordered the veal carbonara. Â It's breaded and fried so the fryer did a number on the edges of the thin sliced veal, making them a tad tough. Â Still the dish was very good. Â The pasta was al dente and the egg on top was a perfect over easy.
My date ordered a social serving (Social is a smaller serving fit for a side dish) of the seafood ravioli which was drenched in a heavenly creamy sauce. Â The rav was stuffed with huge lumps of shrimp and crab. Â Sooo good!
The Australian Barramundi was super fresh and the risotto was perfectly cooked.
Our sides were the truffle mac and cheese that was heavy on the truffle oil. Â It was quite an indulgent dish.
Broccoli rabe? Â Garlicky and savory.
All in all, minus the kids, this was a nice restaurant to dine in and we will be back!
Wine list is very lengthy and the Pinot is yum ;)
The wife and I went for lunch. The place looks amazing! Outdoor seating, open kitchen, and a nice bar are some things that stood out.
For apps we ordered the lobster bisque and calamari. Both were very excellent. We ordered the smaller size calamari and it was enough for 2.
Our entrees were the cavatelli and the rigatoni. Another user's review nailed the cavatelli as sub-par. The dish reminded me of maggots! I even tasted it and it was just "ehh". The rigatoni was was good, no more,no less.
Service:
What left a sour taste in my mouth was the wait staff. Our waiter was excellent, but whoever was helping him was definitely new and he needs training. We were still finishing our apps when he came over with our entrees and just took the calamari away without saying a word. We weren't even offered grated cheese. Come on!! Olive Garden gets that right!
All that aside I will try dinner. Besides the cavatelli, the food was excellent and the menu looks promising for a steak lover!
I tried Catelli Duo last week with a group of friends. Â Although this was my first time, I had high expectations (their original restaurant at Main St. was excellent). Â Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Â I follow a vegetarian diet and asked if I could have extra vegetables on my salad, since it would serve as a meal. Â I told the server that I was more than willing to pay extra. Â I was told that they weren't allowed to add extra vegetables, but she would try her best to accommodate me. Â It would have been easier to just order two salads. Â My friend had also ordered a salad and asked if they could substitute mozzarella instead of the gorgonzola that was listed. Â Again, this was not doable. Â The other person in our group ordered ravioli which were lousy. Â There was very little ricotta in them, the dough was mediocre, and the marinara had a strange aftertaste. Â If you are used to homemade Italian cuisine, then you will not be impressed. Â Our server was very friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu. Â I didn't think that we asked very difficult questions, but she had to keep running to the kitchen for answers. Â Although the atmosphere is very nice, I would not rush back to this restaurant. Â The food is mediocre, the portions are small, and the menu is overpriced.
Review Source:I was kind of excited to try catelli duo upon reading the menu. My sister and I decided to try it out for lunch today. Upon entering, I could already tell it would be an odd experience. Our hostess was nice however she seemed to be quite new to the hospitality business. She was slow and awkward, especially while clearing our table for us. She took the settings (but forgot the cups) before I sat down which left me awkwardly standing behind her.
Once we finally sat, there was a weird smell to the table. As if they had wiped the table down with a wet, dirty, three week old, wiped a 1,000 dirty tables and only rinsed it once, towel. Â Which I promptly took out my scented lotion and hand sanitizer to rid us of the disgusting smell.
Our server was nice but did not seem to have a grasp on the menu. She checked in on us, maybe a few too many times, but was ok over all.
It seemed like the restaurant was over run with servers who had nothing better to do but to talk near our table. Which was a big distracting.
But I digress, onto the food. My sister and I ordered 3 appetizers all in a single portion and a pasta in a duo size. We got the crab cakes, the scallops, and the eggplant for appetizers and the cavetelli for our entree to share. The way that our server described the portions made it seem like the duo size would be more than enough for the two of us. Unfortunately when the dish came out I laughed. It was enough for one person....maybe. The appetizers were all wonderful especially the scallops. However the cavatelli was sub par. And the pasta was a HUGE turn off. It looked like over sized baby worms/maggots. It's a crude reference but it's true..
In my opinion I feel like Cattelli duo would be a good tapas type restaurant seeing as it is a wine bar as well. Would I come back? I dont think so. For the portion size and the price it's not worth it. Especially if you come with more than one person. Expect to arrive hungry and leave hungry as well.
Stopped at Catelli's Sunday evening for a light meal. Â When my girlfriend and I arrived we were greeted by a a very friendly hostess and seated, well actually there were three lovely ladies at the station, one on the phone and two in a deep conversation. Â We waited until the first young woman was done with her phone call to be seated. Â I imagine that the conversation was much more important. Â Our waiter stopped by for our drink order and left to get them and our bread. Â A few minutes later he returned with our glasses of wine and took our order. Â I thought that the wrapped scallops looked good and we decided to have a duo ($20.00). Â Our waiter returned and apologized for the delay in getting our bread said that the bread was in the oven and would be out soon. When the scallops arrived I was shocked when I realized that duo really did mean 2 because that is what was on the plate 2 scallops. Â Now I am not cheap by any sense of the imagination and I have eaten at some of fine establishments in the City but even Morton's Steak house gives you 4 scallops. When the bread did get to our table I surmised that the oven must be down the street because it was cold. Â The best part of the evening was watching our entrees in the hands of the servers has they moved around the dinning room looking for the right table. Â What made it more humorous was the fact that our table was only 8 feet from the pass.
I don't think we'll be back and we will not be telling any of our friends about this place either.
Tried the place on10/3.We never did get to eat. After waiting 5 minutes to be seated( no one was at the maitre de station), we the waited 20 minutes for someone to serve us.Waiter never appeared so we left.
I know the restaurant is new,but there is no excuse for truly terrible service.
Great food and fantastic atmosphere.
Decor/Ambiance: Gorgeous red wood tables all cut from one huge tree are unique with great texture and shapes (mine was a little awkwardly high because of the variance in the thickness of the wood but not much of an issue)
The walls are speckled with awesome art and it is trendy but relaxed.
Staff: They're new and many are pretty green BUT I've gone a couple times and each time they are getting more of the hang of it and in a few weeks I'm sure they'll be in top shape. I may have had to ask for a knife or a spoon after it gets swept up by a busser without being replaced but I can live with that.
The Drink: I'm not much of a drinker but the selection of beers is really top notch and the server said they offer a craft beer of the month for $3 always which is damn good. I opted for the house filtered and sparled water which is great with some lime and done as well as in Daniel Boloud's restaurants (I'm living full time in NYC)
The Food:
The menu is HUGE. I tried a bunch of stuff but below are my FAVORITES:
Fig, bacon, balsamic pizza - Of course it's good, look at the ingredients. Great play of flavors
The stuffed meatball - monstrous, perfectly seasoned, falling appart and wonderful.
Short Ribs - These were rich, hearty and great. (not for a dieter unless you have at least a partner in crime to share them with)
Chicken Parmigian - This is my sweetspot in an italian restaurant. The key to my heart and they unlocked the pandora's box of chicken parm. juicy, pounded thin chicken breasts lightly breaded and sauced to perfection. I opted for a thin speghetti for my pasta and it was just as I wanted.
As you can see from the above items I didn't have much room for desert but those waffles look awesome.. something to go back for the next time I'm trekking through the So. Jersey area.
Overall. Do it. come. Eat. Enjoy. If I lived closer I'd go and hang out at the outdoor bar all the time. Beautiful ambiance, full bar, tv's and a fire pit.. I hope they bring out a Smore plate for people curled around the fire.
WOW!
An awesome and innovative menu, a nicely varied wine list, and a fun yet sophisticated beer assortment make Catelli Duo the perfect place to hang out with friends during the game, treat your love, or impress that important client.
Overall performance was really good, considering this venue opened last week. Our server had great recommendations (Potato Gnocchi, for one), food came out hot and within good time, and proper etiquette was taken into account as well. It's clear that the folks here have a passion for what they do - something that, unfortunately, many of today's establishments lack.
We'll definitely be back!
My wife,, our 4 year old, and myself had dinner here. It was the first week that they opened. The menu features smaller and regular size plates. My wife ordered a small mussels. The mussels were good, but there was about 10. I ordered a shrimp app, it was $7 for 2 shrimp. We both ordered pasta entrees for our meal. My wife's meatballs were soggy. My rigatoni Bolognese was good. We asked for bread. At first our waitress told us they had none. Then another waiter said that they had some, but there was a charge. The manager came over to our table, and asked how was everything. I told her about our disappointment with the value of the meal, but to pay for bread? She said that they wouldn't charge us for bread. Â The manager said to have the waitress find her before we were done. Â This never happened, and we were given the check and left. Â This experience was a shame, considering this is such a nice restaurant
