I went here for fish and chips after a long bike ride on the platt. Needless to say i was not impressed.  I figured an Irish bar would have the real chips you know the thick french fries that soak up all the malt Vinegar!  NOPE i got regular ole mcd's look alike fries.  The fish was okey.  If you want true Irish food try a new place.  I even gave it a 2nd try and had the shepherds pie and again not impressed.

I would agree that the service here is not always great, however, I don't agree that it is terrible. I also think the restaurant has made a concerted effort of late to improve the overall service. The reality though is that this is not the most important thing at this restaurant. What needs to be know here is that you are going to get a good set of Celtic foods, alcohols, and music. And all of the above are excellent. I would recommend the Doublewood Scotch with the Bangers and Colcannon. Believe me, you will not regret it. Overall I would give 4.5 stars if that were an option, and my rating will go up as the service continues to improve.

Out of Guinness and a live band playing Mardi Gras style jazz music on St. Patrick's Day?! Plus, the service was pretty poor. Don't think I'll be returning

Stopped in with a friend for happy hour and dinner. Service was spotty, the food was great, and they had guiness ice cream.

We showed up here for their Live Music Thursdays.  I brought good friends and their kids.  We had a party of 8, 4 adults 4 kids.  Not many people in the restaurant when we showed up at 7.  There was a large party in their party room.

It was our waitresses first day.  We were just fine with that.  Everyone has their first day at something.  We ordered our food at 7:15.  By 8:15 we still had not had our food.  We asked our server about it.  She said 1/2 of it was ready.  Well that means 1/2 of it will be cold.  Sure enough the meatloaf came out and it was luke warm.   The kids stuff finally came and they devoured it because they were so hungry.

We also had asked about changing a channel so we could watch Thursday Night football.   She said that they did not have the NFL network on that particular TV.  We then asked about a college game and she said "I don't really know that means, but I'll check and see."  Sadly we got to watch 2 1/2 men for 2 hours rather than a college football game.

Meanwhile, we now have to ask our waitress about warming up the food.  She seemed really put off at us for asking about this.  Now another server comes along and apologizes for the kitchen.  Said usually they have 3 working back there, but tonight had 5.  That to me would imply the food would come out quicker, but I guess not.   She then went on to say they had a party of 65 and they were ordering food like crazy.  That's why our service was slow.

Bottom line is THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM.  I came here specifically for the Live Music (which was fantastic) and a nice meal.  You need to be better staffed to handle your situations.  Do not place this back on me.

They did remove 2 meals from our ticket.  I will go back for drinks and the music, but never again will I go her for food.  It was not very good and the service was beyond slow.  I don't think this was the servers fault necessarily, but the kitchen staff.

I would recommend eating at Jack and Grill across the way and then coming over for a to Celtic for drinks or vice versa.

I have been here about a dozen times over the years and each time it was OK.  Usually with friends after an event or something.  Honestly it has always been better for beers than food.  This time I stopped in for a quick bite and a beer on my way out for the night .  The bartender was polite and efficient so the service was good. I ordered a couple appetizers one was a cheeseburger slider.  The meat was very old.  I don't know if you know that taste but it was disgusting.  I had to spit it into my napkin which I have never done in a restaurant that I remember. To have meat that old and be serving it is very frightening.  I won't be back.

We would have ordered a lot more drinks if we could ever track down the waitress.  When we did get our two drink & dessert orders in, the waitress was super huffy about having to help us.  My ice cream was frost bitten and gross.  Maybe I'll come back on a night when they're not quite as busy?

I didn't know that the Celtic was close by - good to know! I think next time though I'd sit at the bar. Reason being that I think our waitress was the only one for Trivia Night so service was very slow. Not for lack of trying of course but...we also tried the fried veggies and Rarebit. Both were yummy and unhealthy! Probably will go back sometime and hit the bar/outdoor area.

I'd only been here twice before, just for drinks. The atmosphere & ambiance is great and they're one of the only places I've found that has Strongbow on tap. The bartender (40ish gentleman) is always extremely friendly. However, my first experience with dinner was LESS than impressive; not even alright.
My husband & I decided to come here for Valentine's Day dinner because it's 2 minutes from our house and we didn't want to go anywhere that we'd have to be on a wait.
The girl who would turn out to be our waitress (Micah)  looked right at us when we sat down, but didn't come to greet us for atleast 5 minutes. She was not really friendly at all, but I figured she would warm up (she didn't). Speaking of warm, it was absolutely freezing in there. We ordered beers and those took atleast another 5 minutes. It was not busy in there at all, another table of 5-6 people and 1 other couple. We ordered wings for our appetizer & they were by far the best thing we ate all night. Their bleu cheese is homemade and really delicious.
We decided to forego the V-Day special (Surf n Turf) and my husband ordered the sirloin, I the salmon. Our food took atleast 30-40 minutes, but that wasn't even the worst part. When it finally did arrive, it was COLD. Not lukewarm...absolutely COLD. My husband's steak was warm-ish, but mashed potatoes & veggies were cold. My rice & salmon were warm-ish, but veggies COLD. Our waitress did not even come back to check on us. We had to flag her down. We didn't want to spend another 40 minutes waiting so my husband just asked for a small plate to microwave the cold stuff. She brought the tiniest dish ever, my husband ended up putting his steak in it to keep & eat, and giving her the plate of everything else. I don't know how she thought all the COLD FOOD was going to fit in that tiny dish. When she brought it back...it was warmer, but there was no steam in sight. We just ordered more beers to try and make the night better... their food HAS potential, but why was it cold? Lazy chefs? Lazy waitress? FREEZING cold temp inside?? The SERVICE, on the other hand...our waitress didn't even apologize for the coldness of the food, she acted put out that we asked for it to be warmed up. She was completely blase about it. She did not care about her job or anything else. (Where was a manager this whole time?? I'm almost positive there was NOT one even there). She is LUCKY that both my husband and I are/were servers and would not ever leave less than an 18% tip.  My husband works RIGHT ACROSS THE PARKING LOT and it WOULD have been convenient for us to return many a time to the Celtic...however we will NOT ever be going back there (for food anyways).
So...the theme for our night at the Celtic? COLD...COLD...COLD...

I don't give a lot of two star reviews but I'm on the cusp between 2.5 and 3 and in this case I rounded down.

This is one of those cases where the service really determined the stars.

We came here for a Trivia Fundraiser.  First impressions were solid - great pub atmosphere.  We were seated in the bar area with the rest of our group awaiting the Irish trivia to begin.  Took us awhile to get our water as well as our beers - nothing special about the beer, so what took so long?

We ordered the Welsh Rarebit as an appetizer, a blend of sharp cheddar cheese and Murphy's amber served over Irish Potato bread.  This was pretty good.  I really enjoyed this dish and so did Sam.  I decided on the Chicken Pot Pie and Sam had the Seafood Casserole.  Honestly, it took a while for the food to arrive, it felt like we were not as important as the other diners.  It did arrive, and was served piping hot.  The Chicken Pot Pie was steaming with a good variety of veggies and big chunks of chicken.  It could have used some more flavor imparted into the sauce, maybe some Thyme or Sage.  The Seafood Casserole was okay, not glorious.  Couldn't really differentiate all the different types of seafood in it.  Sam is not nearly the foodie that I am so for him to say it was "just okay" isn't a good thing.

As the trivia night progressed our table was joined by another couple to even out our team.  If service wasn't already questionable at this point it was pretty clear with them.  The gentleman went half the night with an empty glass.  Finally, he had to ask that a pitcher of iced tea be left on the table.  Again, the waitress goes missing and he had to go up to the bar to get a beer (it was faster than waiting 30 minutes).

The food was good pub food but the service this evening was pretty bad.  I'm sure we will be back and I hope the service is quite different.

Get your act together or next time I won't be so generous.

Food not my favorite...but then again to be fair, I don't like Irish food.
But, man oh live I love to drink like I'm Irish and it is my last day on the Earth.
Sittin' on their deck and throwing a few back while enjoying the sun and the people from the trails...it is all good.

The mark of a good Irish place is the rueben.  This one was not good.  You need to go for shaved corned beef.

have been here several times, and have had mixed but overall good experiences. a couple of the waitresses I have had are extremely professional, timely, and friendly, but others are pretty blah. other than a couple of wrong drinks, which was immediately fixed, i have no complaints. the live music is usually good, though on open mic night they need to fix the audio or something because sometimes the singers sound terrible and earsplitting. the baked brie is delicious, and the other entrees have been great. the patio is lovely, with the exception of the green spray painted dead bushes and the fake flowers that are shoved into some of the planters out there, highly reminiscent of a trailer park garden.

I tend to end up at the Celtic about once every other month or so for some pints and fish and chips.  While I will agree with the posters who have said it is a little pricey, generally it is an enjoyable experience.  The portions aren't huge, but the atmosphere is nice, though ever so slightly cheesey in its attempts to be Irish.  As for the wait staff I have always had a good experience with them though I have seen them get flustered and frustrated with large parties of drunk obnoxious snobs who think that they are in fact their personal whipping boys/girls... and for that I really don't blame them.

It seems to me that this place is getting a bad wrap by high maintenance metro sexuals. Get up and go to the bar!! if you just pounded your libations in two seconds on the patio, on the platte river, at sunset.

Fish and chips 4 stars... a little skimpy but crunchy and delectable. Really deserve 5 stars......just priced to high.  Maybe the price of fish has gone up they are expensive every where. Service is french but I'm down with that. Laissez les non temps rouler.

I honestly don't know why I keep punishing myself by coming here.  Perhaps its because its nearby  where I live, perhaps I am being overly hopeful that they will acquire new ownership, perhaps its because its clean.  Either way I've got to stop coming here.  I really don't deserve this type of punishment.  Their food is terrible, and we've ordered from both their happy hour menu and their dinner menu.  The fries look like they are fresh from McDonald's or bought frozen then prepared.  When I ordered the Killarney toast it was burnt black on the bottom, the Sheppard's Pie was so salty even I couldn't finish it and I am the type of person to lick the bottom of a potato chip bag.  And their drinks, the reason why you go to a pub in the first place, are expensive and I swear have been watered down.   Also I agree with Brandon W. that the general manager just doesn't care about his customers.  During one of their happy hours, my husband ordered their wine, because their selection of happy hour beer would be best bought at Safeway.   They served him the wine that wasn't on the happy hour list which was close to $9.  When my husband explained that he had ordered the $3 wine, they essentially told us, "too bad, so sad."   On the plus side, like I said, they are clean and they are never really busy.

Boddington's on tap, but that is the only plus I experienced here on a Tuesday.

Below average cocktails. Got a skunked Newcastle, which means it was exposed to sunlight. Informed the general manager and he 1) didn't know beer in green and clear bottles skunks when exposed to UV and 2) didn't care. He blamed his distributor, which might be accurate, but if that's the case, return the beer to the distributor instead of serving bad beer to customers. He offered no replacement and seemed slightly annoyed to be approached about the problem. My friends and I have been here half a dozen times but the lack of caring means that none of the 5 of us will be coming back. $6 beers don't help either.

Stopped here on a bike ride....the fish and chips are amazing!  Honestly, the best fish I've had since moving here from NYC.

Meh. The only time I stop in is on St. Patties day, as it is the only Irish pub in littleton. The food and beer is more expensive than the majority of the restaurants/bars in town given the quality. They really don't give much of a reason to stop in considering their competition.
