Not to many choices past the security point if you want a beer or a sandwich. Â There are a couple of beers that are on tap which are local. Â They both aren't too bad, but the wheat one is strange looking. Â Kind of looks like cream soda or something.
Had a caesar salad with chicken last time I was here. Â Pretty good really. Â No complaints at all, but not somewhere I look forward to going to when I have to come to Indy.
Expectations for airport food are not high, let's be clear. But, when I order a Caesar salad and a bowl of potato soup, I would hope that some basics could be met. It would have been awesome if the top of my soup wasn't a solid layer from being heated up and if there had been a little more lettuce to go along with the absurd quantities of Caesar dressing in my salad.
On another note, did you know that dogs are allowed on the "patio" at Champps? So I got to enjoy my food in the presence of an un-caged puppy, who my waitress was all too eager to pet and get kisses from. Don't get me wrong, puppies are cool, but I hope she washed her hands before she handled my food. She was nice and attentive (thus the second star) but still. That's gross.
I guess the moral of the story is to eat at home before going to the airport.
