While traveling on October 3rd 2012 with my elderly mother in a wheelchair, passed Wolfgang Puck Express on way to gate. Â My mother wanted to try one of their pizzas, so with plenty of time to spare I ordered one for her, this was at 12:56 pm, the height of lunch time. Â Was told it would be about twenty minutes, no problem. Â Came back twenty five minutes later and the pizza hadn't even been started. Â Line chef was too busy making salads and manager just managed to roll in (really, at the height of lunch service) while I was standing there with my mouth agape at the news that they hadn't gotten to it. Â Â At this point, the no problem was a big problem, didn't have another twenty minutes to wait to get a pizza and eat. Â I can only give this restaurant an Eek, Me Thinks Not since there was no food and my mother ended up with no lunch.
Review Source:Today was not a good day for the Puckster and his staff.
2 bloody mary's. An easy, seeingly fast order. BUT, the bartender couldn't explain the difference between a single and a double when I asked how big the glasses would be. I finally gave up and said just make it a single. Then she asked if we wanted "celery or anything" in the drink and before we could answer told us she didn't have any of that stuff ready.
Hmm...it's 11:30am. The airport is open. You are open. Isn't part of being open being ready to serve customers? A few olives speared on a stick doesn't seem like too much to ask when it's almost noon and for $7 a whack.
Weak drink. No garnish. Bad bartending.
Booooooooooo!
On my way for a flight out of Indy, I wanted to grab a quick bite before my six-hour flight. Â I noticed Puck's first, but wanted to check my selections and then order. Â Took longer than I realized, but more on that below.
The hot dog place looked okay, but nothing really grabbed me. Â There's a deli nearby, but the counter staff seemed put off that I wanted to decide on a place to eat before ordering from them. Â At the end of the terminal lay a Starbuck's and a Coldstone Creamery, but those aren't good for lunches. Â I headed back to my gate, and went into Wolfgang Puck's.
I sat down, and the waitress was over almost immediately, even though the place had about twenty other patrons there. Â I ordered the Bacon Avocado sandwich; the waitress suggested the Caesar salad, which I also ordered.
Then, I noticed the time. Â My flight would board in ten minutes, so I really had to dash.
I called her over, and she brought the Caesar immediately, then packed the sandwich in a carry-on container. Â She even brought a cup of soda for me to take on the plane. Â Made the boarding line with a couple of minutes to spare, thanks to her speed.
The price was a little high, about $20 for soda, sandwich and salad, but airport food is pricey. Â The food was very good, not fantastic, and for an airport a really good value. Â The food did what it should have, which was feed me for my flight. Â A solid three-star performance, which is actually better than most airport restaurants. Â What earned the fourth star was the service from my waitress, Tracy.
