  I have heard this place used to have a sketchy past, but when I went there it had cheep beer and cheep well drinks. They had a fun band playing, but it was not insanely loud.  It is a dive bar that I hope they keep the bad out and it will survive.

  Locally owned and operated bar in the middle of downtown Charleston.  Atmosphere is mixed wine cellar slash dive bar.  Consistently houses excellent live music from all over.  This place has all the great standard beers with a selection of micro and local brews that you can't find anywhere else.  If nothing else, the prices CANNOT be beat with $1 draft beers and an "all you can drink" price that I've never seen anywhere else.
