Happy hour margaritas! Along with their famous chips and salsa! Need I say more? You will only find me going to Chevy's if I am craving their chips and salsa! Which was long over due, since the last time I had Chevy's was years ago. No other Mexican restaurant I've been to makes their salsa quite like Chevy's. And if you happen to be in Gold River or Rancho Cordova (the next town over) why not chose Chevy's. Happy hour prices can't be beat! I'm giving this place a 4 star because our waitress was nothing but friendly! She always made sure we were doing ok, and was quick to fill up our chips and salsa if it was running low. Â We ordered their famous chicken fajitas that is mesquite-grilled. It was a large portion for my standard and we were able to share it for two.
Review Source:brought our group family to Chevys in Rancho Cordova, CA on May 28 to
celebrate my daughters Graduation. We had family attend from out of town.
We arrived at restaurant #2027 and right as we seated, our waitress made me
feel really uncomfortable and pressured and demanding a response out of me
when she said 'you will be charged an 18% gratuity, they should have told
you that at the door, so is that ok?" What was I supposed to say? We just
took our seats! All 10 of us, and she is pressuring me about a tip the
second we sat down! We asked for two bills, she said 'You will be charged
18% on both tabs". We have no way to retract a tip if the service was poor?
We were forced to pay 18% times two on one table. Upsetting more, she had
to pressure me, and demand an answer out of me, when I am with my family
from out of town! Tacky, embarrassing, unprofessional. Â We had 5 children
at the table, and order one kids meal which should have been 'free' per
your restaurant promotion, but she said she would have to charge me full
price because my daughter was slightly over 10. The kids meal was a pizza,
and the first time she made it and brought it out, it was too doughy to
eat. She made a second attempt, and it was overcooked and dry, the kids
meal french fries were hard and stale as if to be sitting there for awhile.
We were charged for refills on soft drinks and kids drinks. In my
experience dining out at Chili's or comparable food chain restaurants, we
have never been charged for refills! It was my honest opinion that she was
racking up our bill in order to get that 18% higher! We were in that
restaurant for a total 2.5 hours and .5 of that was conversing while
'actually' eating. We waited an hour for our food, which did not arrive
together, and we waited at least 45 mins for her to calculate and figure
our bill! It was an embarrassing experience for such a special occasion we
were celebrating, and if there was anyway to retract my tip from her, I
would. Â I would prefer not to return that particular restaurant anytime in
my future
