Not too bad, the restaurant itself is nice, big and open, at least a dozen big screen televisions, so if you want to watch a game you'll have a good view no matter where you sit. The lit up and painted ceilings are pretty cool too. The waiters have always been attentive and quick (the greeters have an attitude, but it is like that at nearly every place in town these days.) Food is expensive for what it is, around $10 a plate, but that is also the norm around here. Same goes for drinks.

The salsa is good, the queso is ok. Most of the food is ok, nothing really special. The chicken fried steak, on the other hand, is fantastic! It is a perfectly cooked and battered chicken fried steak but instead of gravy they top it with a big green chile and queso. This is the main reason I keep coming back, it is so good! Always tender and great flavor. If you want a great chicken fried steak, this is the best I've had in West Texas, and I have tried a lot of em'.

Overall, this place is average as far as Mexican Restaurants in Midland. However, if you want to watch a game with some friends and have a few beers, I'd recommend Chito's over other places in town because of its size and number of tv screens.

We stopped by Chitos at 5 pm on a Sunday afternoon to watch the football game and get a snack.  As this is a month-old restaurant in Midland, we weren't expecting to see too many people there but the place was packed.  We were greeted by a friendly hostess who advised us of a 10 minute wait for a table.

First impressions:  Chito's has a very big and cheerful space which has been divided into several rooms by half stone walls.  Bright Mexican pottery and multiple TV screens decorate the spaces.  Comfortable carved wooden benches are provided for those waiting for a table.

Upon being seated at our table, someone quickly took our drink order and brought us delicious chips and spicy salsa.  Our waitress was very attentive.

Now, the food.  As Midland has such an abundance of Mexican restaurants, Chito's has some tough competition.  We ordered chicken fajita quesadillas and margaritas (we had ordered the exact same things the night before at Jorges on Big Spring Street).  I far preferred the food and drinks at Jorges.  Chito's quesadilla was a big serving but lacked flavor.  Their house margarita was on the watery side.

As this is a new establishment, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another try.  This could be a great alternative to the other sports bar in town if they would ramp up the flavor of the food and tweak their margaritas a bit.
