Torino's Pizza Bar

Good wings.  Good pizza.  Cold beer.  Televisions for your sports viewing pleasure.  

As with many, many other Midland establishments, the demands of a boom town has strained the service staff, and this is acutely true during their busy hours.  But they typically won't run out of food (I'm looking at you, Buffalo Wild Wings--what kind of BWW runs out of wings on a Sunday night?).  A decent place for what ails you.

Definitely not my ideal place to watch sporting events but I had limited options because I was in Odessa/Midland. They have 8-10 very large TVs in the bar area and one good thing is they can all be on a different channel. Couldn't get over the smoke smell but I think that is because I am used to smoke free places and this placed reminded me how great that is.

Onto the food part... The food is actually what put this place in the three star category. If not it would have been a one starer. They have awesome pizza and it is very reasonable for the amount of toppings that you can put on it. The wings are great also and they have a bunch of different flavors to choose from. I am not sure how the beer prices are. I'd say check this place out... It might surprise you but I wasn't a big fan.

I have to admit that I am *NOT* a fan of this place. Granted, there aren't that many decent bars to go to here in Midland, but the environment/atmosphere of this bar in particular leaves something to be desired.

While they are still working out some kinks, it's very disheartening to walk into a bar and realize there is NOTHING on tap because THEY AREN'T HOOKED UP YET. How is this possible? The worst part is that this place has now been open nearly a month and this issue still hasn't been resolved. Furthermore, the waitstaff really leaves a lot to be desired. Most of them are inexperienced and have no clue what is available in bottles or what their bartender can/cannot make.

My biggest complaint has to be the atmosphere. This is the strangest sports bar I have ever been in. The entire restaurant/bar feels like you're in a club that's about to close and it's "Last Call". Yep, it's that "gray" and "sterile" and really, silver/black walls don't say sports bar to me. It's no surprise that we've left this place after only a couple of drinks given all of these factors.

Looks like the search for a "cool" bar here in the Permian Basin continues...
