Went for dinner and drinks this past Friday! The steak and scallops we ordered were cooked to perfection, we didn't have to hunt our waitress down for drinks (or anything for that matter). We got a table immediately and didn't have to wait long for soups and appetizers to come out. Love the incredible beer selection and the eclectic menu. Definitely will be going back there.
Review Source:Four stars when taking into account their awesome beer selection (otherwise, prob 3). The beer really is the star of the show here. If you are a beer geek and are tired of going to even good beer bars and having had already every beer on the menu, you have a shot of finding some new stuff here. I had the incredible Mikkelker SpontanCherry here, in addition to some other great local beers. During Phillies games, they have a few options from local Neshaminy Creek Brewing for only $3, which is a great deal.
We sat on the outside deck, which was perfect for a beautiful day. Our waitress was OK, but I think that she wasn't thrilled that we didn't order any food and were perhaps drinking our beers too slowly for her. Service was fine, though, and she seemed to warm up a little over the time we were there. I would say 2.5* for service.
I didn't really get a chance to try the menu. We ordered the pretzel bites, but they were out of them, so we just got some fries to nosh on. Fries were good. Menu looked relatively creative though, so perhaps I will try the food if I am ever back.
My boyfriend and I went to Churchville the other night, I had been there one other time. My boyfriend loves this place and swears by the French onion soup and ribs. So we started with the onion soup... Hm it was ok. I had to put a lot of salt in it for it to have flavor. Our second course was mussels and again not impressed. I couldn't eat them. They were extremely slimy, and not opened much (not cooked long enough), and they also had no flavor. We shared ribs for our dinner, my boyfriend loved them as always! I did not. They weren't even tender, had WAY to much sauce on them, and I normally order extra bbq on side. No these I could not eat. By the time we left I was so sick with heart burn :/
I give this place 3 stars because the ambiance is great, our server lindsay was awesome, and they have a great beer selection. And the drink menu is perfectly organized, Beers are categorized by styles. Very easy to find what you're looking for!
What a find! Let me say, I've been waiting for a restaurant in my area where I can eat well and drink well with friends or family, and I found one! The ribs are supposed to be all the rage, but when my server explained the catch of the day, the choice for me was clear. The black bass was fresh as fresh can be with a crispy sear on one side and served over lentils and dressed with a seafood chowder. Bite one could have transported me right to NYC. My beer was outstanding. It perfectly complimented my fish: fruity and fragrant. The bartender was so knowledgeable about the vast beer selection, he made several suggestions that would work for my menu pick. The atmosphere was fun, and the decor was tasteful too. Overall, The Churchville Inn was a hit in my book, such a big hit in fact, I'm going back tomorrow!
Review Source:Went there for the first time in a long time. Â Think its great for burgers and sandwiches. Â Wasn't willing to spend the money on the more expensive entrees. Â My mushroom swiss burger was awesome and so juicy. Â A little more well-done than I had requested but it was a thick patty. Â My husband had a the beef brisket sandwich & that was tasty. Â Fries yummy & fresh. Â Service was just ok. Â Don't expect a quiet dinner especially if there is a band upstairs. Â But we didn't mind as we ventured upstairs & loved the bar & the band playing (acoustics are not the greatest for music). Â Will definitely go back for the more casual items.
Review Source:So I book-marked the Churchville Inn to ensure I'd remember to write something glowing. Â Now that I'm here, I cannot believe the last review of this place was 9/2012. Â Seriously? Â My first thoughts of the Churchville Inn is "hello, I love you won't you tell me your name?" Â We live in Yardley and stumbled across this place only because we were out that way. Â If this place were a tad bit closer, I think this would be my Friday night place. The food--is the best food I have had around here for bar/pub in quite some time. Â We visited with six people. We were promptly seated. The ambiance is.. just okay... but I'm not at a lounge, so I get it. Â The service...was just okay. Â We had to hunt down our waitress like four times. She messed up our order and forgot to put some of our app items in--notice the four stars though? Â THAT is how good the food was. Â I loved the freshness and quality ingredients and creativity (but not overly creative) ideas for menu options. Â The beer selection sent my beer snobbery husband into beer heaven. Twenty-minutes...to pick his starting beer because the beer menu was that ridiculous. Â I never visited the Churchville Inn prior to the said renovations, but I sure will visit again. What a great little joint (actually, not so little).
Review Source:It is very disappointing when service gets in the way of good food. I had dinner with two friends at the Churchville on a Friday night, when the place is really hopping. We had a table downstairs, even though we were there for a beer event because the atmosphere upstairs is just too loud for people to have any sort of conversation. The service was some of the worst service I have ever had in my life at a restaurant. It took us a long time to place drink orders, and the waitress was incredibly slow in refilling ice tea and water glasses. The real problem began with the second order of beer, which was one doppelbock and one ipa. The server brought the ipa from downstairs, and said the other one had to come from upstairs. Shortly thereafter another server showed up with two more beers, yet could not even tell us which beers were which. We never found out what the beer from downstairs was. For appetizers we ordered a veal flatbread which was uninspired and cheesesteak arancini, little fried balls with a bit of cheese and steak in the center served with a blob of ketchup. The balls had little flavor though a very nice crisp outside. We then ordered entrees, ribs, salmon special and scallops. Unfortunately we were only fortunate enough to receive two of three entrees. I received a scallop appetizer, a beautiful scallop with pork belly frisee and fried egg.  When asking the server, they were surprised because they didn't even realize there were two scallop dishes on the menu, even though the scallop entrée was one of the 'signature" dishes of the establishment. Clearly training is lacking in the front of the house. Dessert was an uninspired bread pudding with a glob of vanilla ice cream on top. While the food was good, the service was so bad that there is little reason to recommend this restaurant to anyone. Perhaps they need to burn it down again and start over.
Review Source:Totally rebuilt after a fire in 2011. Â It has been reborn as a sports bar, burger/salad restaurant. Â As long as you don't expect quiet, fine dining, you won't come away disappointed.
On the plus side, it is clean and new. Â They have about 25 craft beers on tap and well over 100 bottled beers. Â The beer list is well organized and it's easy to find what you are looking for. Â They also have a decent assortment of mixed drinks, wines and wiskey.
I had a burger with mushrooms -- it was excellent. Â Also had a garden salad, which wasn't too exciting. Some of the bigger salads looked very good. Â And they have really good fries.
TVs are everywhere, so if you want to watch a game, you won't have to kill yourself for a good view of the screen.
Since my last review some months ago, I have become a regular of their quizzo night on Tuesdays. I don't exaggerate when I say it is the best trivia night in the area, mostly because their prizes are awesome (a $50 and $25 gift card for first and second place) and it's also always on time (starts at 8:30 and never ends after 9:30). Tuesday is now my favorite night of the week because I love coming here to kick back with a few beers and have some fun.
Review Source:Beautiful new building after the fire, but unfortunately the service and food don't match the new look.
Food was just ok. Â Had the truffle fries and they were overcooked and dry. Â I am probably spoiled by having truffle fries at Black Horse Tavern which are FABULOUS.
Anyway, our waiter was nice but dishes didn't not come out on time and/or in the wrong order. Â The waitstaff in general were huddled around like school kids.
Will not come here again.
I just moved back to the area after living away for a few years, so my dad and I went to the new Churchville Inn to grab some Ribs. While the Ribs were fantastic as always, I was blown away by how nice the new construction was since the fire. The place is absolutely beautiful, and the service was the best I can remember. My server, Kallie I think, was awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable, and made some great beer and food recommendations. Everything was so good, we ended up going back a few days later for a special beer event they had. Amazing beer selection in general, and once again I was lucky enough to get Kallie as my cocktail waitress. I will definitely be going back here a lot now that I'm in the area again.
Review Source:It was my first time at the Churchville Inn. Â There was a 20-25 min wait so we went upstairs to the bar. It's lively and a little loud, with plenty of TV's. Â Lots of interesting beers on tap. We ended up sitting at the bar. Pressed for time, we thought we wouldn't get our food in time to make a later commitment. The bartender pulled some strings and we got our food just in the nick of time. Pulled pork sandwich was delish and I hear the Churchville burger was also good. I only wish I had enough time to finish my fries. We would go back.
Review Source:The restaurant looks great ~ we were upstairs to hear Loose Leaf Trio ~ music was great ~ the bartender had "major attitude" thought ~ I had to ask his name and I know the place was busy but it is no excuse to be rude ~ "he said do you want something or what".  If you can't take the heat ~ get out of the bar!  There are so many good people looking for work ~ if he was my employee he would be out ~ so consider yourself lucky Matt that you have a job ~ even if your not very good at it!  Word of advise to the management ~ you're only as good as the people you hire so at the very least they should put a "smile on their face when dealing with the public ~  remember people can spend their "hard earned " money  anywhere ~  so I suggest
you step up your game at the Churchville Inn!
I was here for the Nebraska Tap Takeover. Â Really nice beer selection pretty diverse. Â Interior is really nice and feels like a cross between a brew pub and a ski lodge. Â The outdoor seating area on the upper level is a nice touch. Â Food was pretty good, not unbelievably good but better than average. Â Staff were very friendly and attentive.
Review Source:had Ribs
-Mashed potatoes wife had the Ruben all very good nachos were real good the only thing we did not like was the seating to small tables and to close to other people i like to talk to my wife and some times i say dirty sexy things to her but not here every ones is to close and can hear you .
ATTENTION: The Churchville Inn is OPEN. Â Their newly refurbished doors are ready for eager guests to walk through. Â
And after a 40 minute wait on opening day, I was one of those guests.
"If walls could talk" is an understatement once you enter the Churchville Inn, whose walls ARE its story. Â Literally. Â Some fabulously dedicated artist(s) carved one of the Inn's walls into a shortened timeline. Â I had never been to the restaurant prior to the fire, so seeing its history laid out before my eyes made me feel as though I was catching up with an old friend. Â It's beautifully crafted and definitely a must-see. Â
Other than that, the food is good, the service is good, yet I wouldn't say 5-star worthy.
My Favorites:
-Ribs
-Mashed potatoes
Not worth the time!!! Had a large group of people here for lunch during the week, service was poor and manager was rude. Try to up charge me from prices on special menu provided to our group, which had a very limited selection!! Don't waste your time or money at this soon to go out of business place, unless service and management change.
Poor service, over priced food!! Poor management!!
First trip back since that terrible fire devasted the former (in-dire-need-of-a-major-fixup) building. Â As awful as that no doubt must have been for the owners and employees, they must be darn proud of the "new" Churchville Inn. Â What an improvement in decor, lighting, ambience and aesthetics. Â While is it somewhat nosiy, this is not exactly the restaurant you take a first date or where you want to have an intimate discussion! Â Love the new look, with the small bar on the first floor, lots of nice seating, TVs to catch the game, and efficient and friendly servers. Â That Jeannie at the bar is a hoot and very pleasant.
Ah, as those delectable ribs - they may be even better than I remember. Â Just the right amount of seasoning, smokiness, bar-b-que sauce and cooking make these baby back ribs truly the best around! Â Really "finger licking good!" Â Other choices are not bad, including the sides, which are eh), but those ribs....that's' why you go to the Churchville. Â Nice selection of draught beer from the usual stuff to the micro breweries and a very decent bottle selection as well.
Can't wait for a return vist for those ribs, seriously you gotta try them!

Michael Klein: Bucks County's Churchville Inn reopens after devastating fire
August 16, 2012 Â |By Michael Klein, Inquirer Columnist
.
The morning of March 27, 2011, smoke and flames drove brothers Andrew and David Wallace and Andrew's girlfriend from their apartments above the family-owned Churchville Inn, a landmark in Southampton, Bucks County.
"There were three walls left standing," said their father, Jeff, last week, as the landmark reopened (1500 Bustleton Pike, Southampton, 215-357-3967). The main dining room is spruced up with a mural, crafted from barn wood by Murrie Gayman, that depicts historic events and people from Bucks County history. The family beagle, Sammy, is included.
The Wallace boys, graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, have revived the menu; ribs and French onion soup are still specialties. (It remains a Pittsburgh Steelers-friendly pub in Eagles country, though they keep that quiet.)
I am very aware this is a local landmark, but come on the food is Blah and the benches are worse than I remember as a kid sitting ,for what seemed like an eternity in church.
Wait a minute ! Â Am I subconsciously remembering how much I hated the church pews, because of the name Churchville Inn?
After pondering that idea I can say with a clear conscience ~~~NO.
My ample bottom with plenty of padding was sore .Uncomfortable seating !!!
.I noticed some of the older regulars brought seat cushions.Smart folks, but this place must be a habit more than thought out choice ??.
Crab cakes were my selection. Very Bland and I did wondered ,"where's the crab in this gluey mess"?
Ribs, not the best by a long shot.
.Very limited veggie selection available and salad dressing choice was almost nil. Salad was also boring.
A very white bread oleo margarine crowd.. Won't be returning.
The sign in the parking lot of this establishment boasts "The Best Ribs in Bucks", and I am inclined to agree. Â Although I do not consider myself to be an authority the subject, I have eaten ribs in several local and out-of-state restaurants. Â These are, by and large, some of the greatest tasting, most succulent ribs I have ever eaten. Â The meat is tender and moist, and can be taken off the bone with a fork and knife. Â One does not even need to soil their hands by touching the ribs due to their tenderness. Â
Although I have a soft spot for the ribs, many of the other entrees are also delicious. Â The crab cakes in particular are quite tasty, although I would only order them if, by some cruel act of God, the ribs were unavailable. Â
In terms of setting and ambiance, I must mention the seating arrangements. Â Although tables are spaced far enough apart so as to prevent ruining intimate conversations, the chairs and booths are largely uncomfortable. Â The lighting is also dim, which is a plus to me, but I am aware that some people like to dine in a brighter setting. Â
Overall, I have always been a fan of the Churchville Inn, and they will continue to receive my patronage as long as they stay in business.
Had Sunday brunch at the Churchville Inn with family awhile ago. Parking's easy, thanks to their lot. Decor is fine and there's plenty of seating. Brunch was one of the best I've had in recent memory, with fresh eggs, orange juice, thick slices of meat, all cooked hot. Service was on point, taking our orders and bringing out everything in a reasonable amount of time. (If brunch is your first meal of the day, you definitely hope everything comes out quickly!)
I've yet to return, as I hear their ribs are the best in the region - their sign out front certainly advertises it every time I drive by - if anyone is up for a road trip, let me know! Recommended if you're in the area or passing by.
