Still searching... Still searching for good Philadelphia pizza in the suburbs-- thin and crispy base crust, chewy perimeter crust, spicy pepperoni, and sauce that is not too sweet. Â I understand how people may like Clank's pizza, but it was not at all what I was looking for. Â The ambience is AWESOME-- a total dive, quintessential neighborhood bar.
Review Source:a few weeks ago a friend brought me home some pizza from this little bar in Marcus Hook called Clanks. Â He said, dude this place has the best pizza make sure you heat it up in the oven. I did, and it was good, really good. Â He kept telling me that its some of the best pizza in the area but to really enjoy it, I had to taste it out of the oven so the road trip to Marcus Hook was on. Â We went last night, you pull up and see this little dive bar and think to yourself, am I in the right place. Â You open the doors to find your typical american bar, still draped with loads of plastic flags from the 4th of July weekend. Â The menu is pretty straighforward, its bar food and pizza, but bar food was not the reason I came, pizza was. Â I have to say that the pizza out of the oven was nothing less then spectacular. I know I have a tendency to use to many superlatives but in this case, I have to reach for one again. Â This is my new favorite pizza place but like NYPD Pizza, it will be hard to get a fresh pie to my house with regularity on friday nights, becuase I am not close to either however Clanks is certainly worthy of a road trip.
