A great start for a new club, but definitely needs some time to reach its full potential. Â
The venue was beautiful with plenty of space to dance, seating against the wall, and a great looking bar. The staff was very friendly from the door guy to the barbacks to the bartenders. Drinks had a decent pour for a reasonable price and draught Stella even came in its own goblet.
As for the cons there were a few...
Mainly the dj on Saturday night. He seemed to have music ADD because songs only lasted about a minute each (they changed so quick we actually started to time them), and for the most part were not current as far as gay bars go.
Water was only offered in bottles which every bar has, but if I am buying drinks all night I would like to be able to get a glass of tap water if I choose. Not allowing your bartenders to serve any ice water makes the ownership seem cheap.
On several occasions I watched security bussing empty glasses which barbacks should be on top of so they can concern themselves with security issues. There were no incidents, but I can only imagine the day a fight breaks out and security is trying to work his way towards the bar with 5 glasses balanced in his hands.
We were very happy to know that the establishment was gay owned and was very close to our hotel. If I found myself in Modesto again I would definitely return in the hopes that they had polished up the operational hiccups.
