Let me just start off by saying that I am going to be completely honest! Ok so here it goes! I love to come here with my husband and friends and just relax and listen to music and ofcourse dance! The music is really good if you notice on their add it says #1 Salsa Club haha I think not the last couple of times I went there was only 6 salsa songs played!!! But that's okay other types of music made up for it like reggaeton, merengue, punta, samba etc. The DJ is pretty good he knows what the people want. The mixed drinks are horribly watered down the beer is good and decently priced, the shots are $5 ( I love that ) there is always people walking around cleaning and police officers plus I have never seen a fight the past 2 years that I have gone. The dress code is pretty simple for girls cute top and bottom or dress. Guys nice top with slacks or dressy jeans no sneakers but for some reason alot of them wear hollister or areopostale there not only that they just stand around and watch everyone else dance??? There is no fun in that!!!! The decor is so so tacky my goodness it's so 80's damn Chairs are falling apart I sat on one and I didn't realize that it had a dent not to mention it's so low I would imagine when you sit you actually plop into it!  I know I'm just rambling but I'm trying to make sure I get everythig in one last thing!!! Get in free before 10pm!!!!!!! It's not worth paying $12-$15 to get in.

been there once, they play alot of salsa and Reggae. It's very cheesy and cheap looking from the outside and the inside isnt a huge improvement. but there is one thing... LOTS of space.

It's best to bring someone that knows salsa and is willing to teach you a few moves. There are a huge number of guys who are just standing there and looking.

worst part: Cover is $15 which is a bit much for a place this low-key.
And they were letting everyone in; even guys in T-shirt and jeans!
    No class whatsoever

    Pros: Room, pretty women
    Cons: Not very Classy

Tonight will be thrice I've had the pleasure of stepping out at Rumba. Large dancefloor for regular sals-eros,especially when alternatives are standing-not-dancing-room-only. How are you supposed to make your moves when you can't...MOVE? Drives me nuts squashing other women's poor feet, or when their killer stilettos dig right into the flat of my vulnerable foot. I'm just sayin'.

One thing remains: would you please play more than claimed 30% salsa?!
I understand a majority of the patrons here enjoy their Reggaeton, but it just makes me feel greasy & dirty. So stop. Just STOP it. If others want it that bad, make a night out of it and leave the rest of the weekend for our poor unfortunate souls to do what we were born to do. Its in our blood and to tease us like that is just wrong. And don't get me started on your dysfunctional website, or I'll take that final star down faster than you can say 'mami.'

On better experiences I've had at Rumba: they offer Friday night salsa lessons around 9:00pm for a small cover, and the instructor is from University of Houston's salsa organization - great teacher, easy to follow, clear in her explanation and execution. Great for large groups. One time three friends and I were the last ones on that dance floor after the guards (yes there are police guards at the doors - this ain't River Oaks people) hit the lights. One asked to have the last dance and was cute as a button (wow really?) trying to follow in step.

A 'regular' salsa club in Houston. Rumba, you get 2.5 stars. For now. Now go to your room. *Turns around* You wait your turn, Sky Bar.
