Really chill blue-collar bar in Newtown. Has a solid beer selection, amazing sandwiches, and best of all very affordable. The best kept secret that the Clubhouse is was revealed after Hurricane Sandy when they were one of few places opened throughout the week and as a result the place has boomed. Do not be deceived by the looks from the outside, it is an accommodating, and clean venue.
Review Source:Ended up here Thanksgiving Eve when everything in Newtown was packed. Â The Clubhouse was no exception, but the crowd was older and more laid back than the brotasticness happening at Green Parrot. Â There was live music, and some pretty good specials. Â Also, I was impressed by the beer selection. Â I figured it would just be the usual beers, ie Miller and Bud, but they also had Sierra Nevada Celebration, and Mad Elf. Â The grape shots were a big hit with my friends who weren't driving. Â We stayed until closing and everyone had a great time.
Review Source:I've been going to The Clubhouse for a few years now when the weather is nice. The outdoor seating area is definitely awesome; definitely preferable to sitting inside where it's a little dive-ish and you can smell the remnants of all of the years of smoke.
Good beer selection. You can get microbrews or even Yuengling for $1.50/pint during happy hour. Can't beat that. The food is just okay; nothing special, but it's certainly not terrible by any means. The service has always been great every time I've gone... no complaints there.
If you're looking for a place in Newtown where you can sit outside, have some beers, and relax without breaking the bank, The Clubhouse is definitely the place to go.
I've only ever been here for dinner and it's good. They have really good wings (which are 40 cents on Mondays)! They have a huge menu which includes typical bar appetizers, salads, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and burgers. One time they had a grilled crab and cheese on special and it was delicious! They also have a six pack shop on the other side of the building, which is convenient if you need it.
Review Source:The Clubhouse has a super cheap Friday happy hour! Free buffet of wings & hot dogs (I don't eat wings, but my husband said they were good) and $1.50/$2.00 pints from 4 - 6. The menu food is okay. Reasonably priced and decent portion sizes.
It was a warm fall day when we went to the Clubhouse, so we sat outside on the patio. The inside seems pretty dark (and less inviting), so I don't know if the experience would have been as good indoors. If saving money is your thing, check it out!
