The 4 stars are for the comedian we saw, Jim Lauletta!  He made our experience great!  The venue was fine, the seats were uncomfortable.  The food was fair.  The price for the food was reasonable, so at least you didn't feel ripped off.  I would go back to see the right comedian.

Ok so this is my 2nd time going (both for showcase night) and it was very fun! Seating is probably around 50 people. Admission was about $10, but if one of the comics invites you, they give a discount. Not going to lie some of the comics suck, but for the most part they are VERY funny. It's showcase so some are very new and I love the "underground, unsigned" comedian. vibe you get.  He comes to your table after the show, thanks you and chats with you.  The only downside was the price of drinks. I've been to nightclubs with cheaper drinks. Pitcher of beer for $12 didn't seem bad to me, until we went to a local bar later that night and they were $6. However $8 drinks (min price) for what i usually pay $5 was a bit steep for my likes. That won't deter me from going, just probably drinking . With that said they do have table side service and a small bar food menu. Tip ask for extra sauce before the kitchen closes.

Seating arrangements are awkward. Parking lot needs lines. Someone parked between my car and another guys car with less than half a foot between the two cars. The menu offered appetizers and drinks. The drinks were good, the service was slow because of a full house. The prices on the menu already calculated the tax into the price which is nice because you need the alcohol to get through the poor comedy.

The comedy they had on the 24th was not funny and personally insulted a few of the patrons while insisting it was a "joke". You know when people say "I could do better than this guy", I literally could do better and I would do so without insulting the audience. He targeted age, religion, and political preferences. The only likable comic was the 1st comic, and he wasn't even the main attraction.

The Comedy Connection is a small venue, seating about 60 people.  Great size to see a comic, and even better if the show is a big-name comic.

Our tix were $15 each for general admission to see Frank Santorelli.  However, the show starts out with a short warm-up from the emcee, then a bit longer routine from an up & coming comic.  Finally the headliner.  Overall, the show was about an hour and a half long.

We didn't get food, but they do offer a number of snacks/bar appetizers.  We ordered a bottled beer and a martini, and the bill was $14+tip,  a bit on the pricey side, but not unexpected given the venue.

There seems to be adequate parking and it's right off the Warren Ave exit on I-195.

Overall, this is a great place to have a few laughs.

We went a few weeks back with a Groupon I had purchased. It was an inexpensive night that had me in stitches. There were several comedians, who were all quite good, the drinks were yummy and the waitstaff was pleasant.

BEWARE!!! Heads up this is a long review, but its only BC Soooooooo many things went wrong! Do not go to this horribly managed venue.
My friends and I went on August 4th for three comedians and then the Men in Motion show. First off, it was arranged prior to the show by Donnie the promoter, when my friend bought tickets that our seats for the comedy show would be up towards the front and then we would have bar seats for the strippers. She accepted and was just thrilled we got tickets. Once we arrived at the venue, Donnie, the promoter, was extremely rude and frazzled. He said he only had four instead of the five seats we paid for AND he put us at the table in the back instead of the front where we were supposed to be. It was incredibly hot and took him almost 20 minutes to get an extra chair for our fifth person. She had to sit in the freaking aisle. At one point our friend sitting in the aisle tried pulling her hair back BC of how hot it was. Then a waitress came over and told her she can't do that BC the servers need to walk by. She had the biggest attitude. Next, Donnie came to our table and one of us started saying how when our friend bought the  tickets we were supposed to be up front. He leaned in, not realizing the person who bought the tickets was next to him, and said how our friend lied to us and she's a liar. Awful! And of course when he realized she was next to him, he tried to play it off like a piece of shI*!
Then after the horrible comedy show, donnie gets on stage with his mess of paperwork, and started calling out peoples names to have them get up and move to a different table.everyone had to squeeze through everyone with all of their drinks just to move. Dumbest seating system ever! Who does this??! So our party proceeds over to the bar seats and waited for our name to be called. He then calls another party and tells them they have EVERY seat at the bar! We all called him over and said we were supposed to sit at the bar. Once again, donnie proceeds to claim that he never said we were sitting there and that we can STAND in the back corner behind the bar! And apparently he told a couple other parties the exact lies about their seats as well. We obviously told him this is unacceptable. All he seemed to know what to say was"what am I supposed to do?" Hmmmmm...don't double and triple book you're seats! And don't lie to your patrons! He then offered us a refund if we didn't want to stay which we said we'd take.then instead of the $35 for the cost  for the strippers, he gave us $20 each instead! We took it considering if we complained he would have kept it all probably. So while we finished up our drinks, he announces to the audience that "unfortunately I couldn't please that party in the back, so I can't bring out the strippers until they leave". We were floored by this. How unprofessional. This was by far the worst management of a venue I have EVER experienced.
Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this place and do not do business with Donnie!

We went last night to see 3 comedians then there were strippers- Men In Motion on Aug. 4,2012. A large group of us went, and nobody paid attention to the comedians because they weren't funny. I'd never see those strippers again that's for sure. We picked the pub platter for $11. you pick 3 things. Each thing we had was mini, but it was okay. I noticed the owner to be very pleasant and attentive to the patrons. You can tell that he takes pride in his place, and did his best to make everyone happy. My second recent experience was a lot better because D. L. Hughley was the headliner. He was very funny, and so was his opening comedian. If you like thin crust pizza, then try theirs. I love how cheesy it is. We tried the plain and veggie. I wish D L was on stage for a full hr. He was up there for 45min. The tables are long and pretty close together. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed, but she was nice. It was a sold out show, so she was busy. She should've informed us that the kitchen was backed up, but oh well nobody's perfect. I thought for 2 pizzas and a pub platter they should've arrived quicker.

For a good comedy show at a cheap price this is a great deal. I came here with a group of people and paid $25 for my ticket and was basically 2 rows away from the stage. We could've sat a little closer, but we didn't want to be targets by the comedians. The downfall was the service, which took almost 2 hours for our appitizers to come to the table. I did feel bad because their obviously weren't enough people working and everyone was being really rude to them because of the long wait. Next time I will just eat ahead instead of putting myself through that again!

Been here twice, both times we had a great time.  Get here early for the best seat selections.  Order some food, the BBQ chicken pizza is amazing.  Get some drinks, very reasonably priced.  Laugh it up!

Comedy Connection provides a fun, entertaining, and cost-effective night out as it  grants a pleasant distraction from the humdrum of daily routine.  If you've never been there, it may seem a little odd actually finding the place.  The building. . . which last night's comic referred to as mausoleum-like in appearance. . . is located just near the 195 highway overpass.  The neighborhood tends to look a bit sketchy at night, but they have a private parking lot close by for a quick shuffle inside.  What used to be an old bank, the interior gives off an interesting but cozy atmosphere.  Tables though oddly placed are candle lit and old vault doors exposed for viewing.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or night of.  Price is reasonable. . . can range anywhere from $10 to $30 per ticket depending on the comic booked.  They boast some relatively recognizable names from time to time, for instance in the coming months they have Craig Gass and Ralphie May advertised.  I know in the past they've hosted Tom Green, etc.

Showing up 15 minutes early got my date and I a seat in the front row.  Though this may or may not be desirable for some, it is certainly an experience being called out and becoming part of the show.  Staff were very prompt in getting drink/food orders in.  Full bar located in the back of the facility but waitstaff are more than capable of filling your needs throughout the show.  Empties are cleared with little distraction, additional drinks offered at appropriate intervals.  A Manhattan and a Blue Moon draft came to approximately $12.  Decent selection of draft, bottled, and specialty drinks.  I have never tried the food here, from the looks of it, the menu offers several different appetizers, pizzas, and sandwiches.

Keep your eye out, I've never actually paid full price to get into this place.  Coupons and deals pop up from time to time.  This place is great for dates, group outings, and celebrations.  I will definitely be returning for more light-hearted entertainment.

There's no logical connection to comedy at the Comedy Connection.

    It's an oxymoron.

What you'll find here is a revolving door of tragedians, kvetching about their miserable, underpaid careers of choice. And when that shtick becomes trite, ham-handed segues and hackneyed routines that criticize local elected officials and the poor state of Rhode Island's economy seem to be the default act.

    It's actually a bit depressing.

Jokes are poorly executed and crudely concocted. Kindergarteners could have written most of the lines from start to finish. It's all predictably contrived, lowbrow humor.

The alcohol helps you crack a smile from time to time, but it's all in a piteous sort of way.

When I visited, what seemed to be an aging hobo relieved the cavalcade of cheap acts and then spent an inordinate amount of time trying to ply humor from the unfortunate circumstances of his life. Real-life homeless people are usually drunker and funnier, so why spend money to see a nuanced rendering of someone's sad state of affairs?

You're familiar with the acronym LOL?

Well, at the Comedy Connection, it's more like FML.

I've been to the Comedy Connection in EP twice now. Our server was really nice, had suggestions as to which cocktails were good to try. I got the chocolate covered strawberry martini, and also tried the lemon drop martini as well. They were both tasty and STRONG definitely worth the 8 and 10 dollars a piece. I went on a Friday night and it was a very small crowd so beware as the comedians will more often than not play off the crowd.

It's a good time would definitely recommend it to someone looking for something a little different to do.

I came here with my boyfriend after purchasing the groupon.

The club is right next to the freeway exit and a bit difficult to find if you haven't seen the building before. Its pretty small inside, so you'll be almost guaranteed to find a seat with a good view.

I went to the 'Hardcore Comedy' show which was a series of maybe 8-10 different comedians over a period of about 1 1/2 hours. Because it was hardcore it was pretty raunchy. Most of the guys were local or from the New England area.

The comedians aren't like Comedy Central caliber, but still good enough to keep you entertained (especially if you drink).

Normally two tickets with 2 drinks comes to $44.

Terrible comedians but worst of all the waitresses were extremely rude. Swindlers.
