I had a meal out with my family, while I was in town. Â Located on the main drag through Columbus, this place opened in November (or so) 2011. Â They serve an American steakhouse-esk cuisine, with sandwiches, steaks, and a little bit of seafood. Â The steaks were just below the $20 price point, though I think they were black angus. Â The burger meal that I got was right around $8.
I wasn't overly impressed by the ambiance of the place. Â I think they're building it up into a nice restaurant, but besides the paint and wood accents (and one mirror) there really wasn't much to the joint. Â There wasn't much copper design or mill design in the place, so don't let the name fool you. Â Don't get me wrong, all the stuff they had looked decent, but nothing drew the room together. Â The dining room was wide open, and I could easily snoop on other patrons, if I so wanted. Â I could see into the kitchen from my vantage (thought it was a good thirty feet away). Â
Now on to the good. Â The place makes some good food. Â I had the black and blue burger, and it the best burger I've ever had in my hometown. Â It was seasoned well, and the blue cheese sauce complimented the burger. Â The beef quality wasn't perfect, but it wasn't that bad. Â The fries that came with it were crispy. Â It came with a pickle. Â I opted for water because they wanted $2 for a soda, screw that sugary shiz... Â My burger was definitely made to order, hence the service seemed a little slow, but my party seemed to fill the time with the usual jabber, so it was all good.
Their menu appeared to be quite standard, though I heard the waitress say that they were going to revamp the menu soon, making it more spring-season friendly. Â That's cool. Â All in all, I think they're a good establishment for Columbus. Â Unfortunate for them, however, is the fact that Larkins (a much nicer location) is just down the road. Â It would be nice to eat outside. Â But, they're about par quality-wise, though I've only been to either place once.
