Come here often to grab a quick breakfast sandwich on the days I don't want to make breakfast. Â Honestly the panini's here are great! Â The eggs seem fresh, and if its not busy they get a nice crust on the sandwiches as well. Â
The coffee isn't amazing, but is better than the machine in the office. Â Also nice for those close by that refills are free all day. Another thing to avoid is the fruit and granola parfaits. Â While not bad, they don't have very much yogurt in them either..
Anyway, I don't plan on going anywhere else for a quick breakfast close by for quite a while.
Decent food with friendly service. I come here mainly when I'm in a hurry, since it's steps from my office, or when there's a deal. I'll often get the DC chicken salad sandwich which is a "fancier" chicken salad that has red grapes and apples in it. All the sandwiches come with a pickle spear and chips (or some healthier options that I don't remember because I'm a chip whore).
Overall, it's a decent place but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
The signs advertise Panini Breakfast Sandwich with great ingredients and eggs made fresh with each order; however, the ingredients are not fresh nor are the eggs made to order. I have eaten a sandwich from this restaurant on three separate occasions. Why three times? Because I wanted to like it - this Corner Bakery is in the building I work in... The eggs are a premixed product and they are made in bulk every morning. I knew this after the first sandwich. The blandness of the sandwich was shocking, which is probably due to the eggs prolonged exposure to heat making the proteins tighten and expel fluid.
Today was the final straw - I asked the cashier to please season and make my eggs fresh, but her response was they cannot season them because they are already made... I politely tried to explain to her that this is not what the advertisement posted on every table and outside indicated, but she just as politely ignored my request and said the eggs are made fresh every morning in bulk...premixed.
One other thing I should mention is I ordered mocha from this corner bakery once and the milk was sour. I work in the same building, so I did not publicly complain.
