I've always loved Cosmo and planned to have a work happy hour there for a large group.  Earlier in the week, I called Cosmo to see the best way to reserve some space for my work team.  The hostess made no attempt to work on my request and turned my group away.  This is very disappointing to me and several folks on my team who were looking forward to eating there and supporting a local business.  I called White Lion, and they were more than happy to accomodate our group.

I like this place. I love that they never play sports games. Their TVs show things like Lost and of course on mute. They have lots of board games to choose from and play. The food is good, but the drinks are great! It is not too loud so you can actually carry a conversation.

Cosmo is an absolute gem in Brookside. Locally owned, staffed by friendly and competent bar tenders and wait staff, it is a fantastic place to go for a romantic dinner, or a family lunch.
The menu is varied, and it is easy to find something healthy like the brown rice salad. Of course, it's also easy to give in to the French bread pizzas and grilled cheese with tomato soup!
You can't go wrong here. Bring the kids for lunch and grab one of the board games to play while you wait, or bring the significant other for a romantic dinner with great food and good wine.

Reading some of the mediocre and negative reviews of Cosmo here on Yelp, I have to wonder what some of those reviewers were thinking they were walking into.  When I see a hipster-y looking place with the word "cafe" in the name, I EXPECT lots of random foods and drinks.  Some of the complaints about the varied food and drink items are just ridiculous.  What were you expecting?!?

And the complaints about "oh, I could just make this at home."  Hey, clowns, ANYTHING you order at ANY restaurant in the world can be made at home!!!  Get over yourselves!

I love the menu here BECAUSE it's varied.  Every meal I've had here has ranged from pretty good to downright delicious.  Despite what other people say, the pricing isn't too bad, either, considering the location and the "trendy" attitude.  I don't remember ever having had slow service either, like some people have mentioned, but that could just be my bad memory.  Certainly not slow enough to make me complain about it in a review (*cough, cough* Dilly Deli *cough cough*).

I haven't done TOO much drinking here, but the drink prices never really bothered me, either.  They are a bit weak at times, though, and that's one of my complaints about this place.  The staff has always been friendly and on top of things, and there's usually a lot of attractive people around, both servers and customers.  The atmosphere is nice, and even though it can get pretty busy at times, it still feels cozy and uncrowded.

I've been to this place dozens of times and the wait staff never disappoints.
Great salads. Awesome Hummus. Stellar Employees. Sweet Mixed Drinks. Really cool atmosphere. #winning

Fun little place. I found the food to be a super interesting little menu (Italian nachos, basically - wow!) and a fun place to be. Dessert was nothing to turn down either. Service could have been a little better, but it was super busy. I have to say that if I lived in Tulsa, this would be one of those places I sit and hang for hours at. Anyone who has mint chocolate chip ice cream on a warm cookie and board games... you've got my vote!

Looking for a patio dining experience? Looking for a board game dining experience?

Look no further! Cosmo Cafe has your desire to make Words with Friends a real-life experience with scrabble boards of plenty.

Gluten free, vegetarian & vegan options are on this menu which is an all around crowd-pleaser! Happy hour is well served everyday 2:00-7:00PM with some select beers for $1.50. If I was looking to take my grandpa and most hippy friend to dinner, this is where I would take them knowing they would each find something to thoroughly enjoy! Oh wait! Add my dog, Olof, to that equation  as he would be welcome on the patio.

There is a plethora of game boards you can take your pick from to bring to your table to play.

So, GAME ON- Grandpa, hippy-pants & Olof... I'm gonna take your to a quadruple word score place.

Not from the area but this place was recommended - we stopped in for dinner before a concert. Immediately loved the dark and romantic atmosphere, unique lighting and art on the walls.

I started with a berry/lemon cosmo (how can you not at this place); it hit the spot. They have a huge gluten free menu, including lots of desserts. I went with the vegan/gluten free lentil soup and a mixed green salad. The soup was a huge serving, hearty and filling. The salad was small and plain but the balsamic vin dressing was more than tasty. Finished up with an espresso shot - a nice touch on the menu.

Our server seemed a little closed/reserved at first, but really opened up during the meal, even suggesting places to grab a drink before our show, and giving detailed directions to the venue.

Great atmosphere, tasty food, friendly/helpful service. I want to go back already.

The food hear is a nice variety of different flavors. I recommend the Thai Coconut Curry soup.  Atmosphere is geared more toward hipster/intellectual crowd no sports here folks. Just movies that no one has heard of.  The service was a bit slow for my liking, but other than that food is not too bad.

Tasty, simple menu at relatively reasonable prices compared to other nearby Brookside establishments. Unique and interesting seasonal mixed drink menu choices. Not too noisy. Sometimes very packed on the weekend evenings and hard to find a seat, but almost always have a couple open tables in the bar area. Seating on weeknights is usually not a problem. Parking lot directly behind (but also very full sometimes on warmer month weekends). One negative would be the relatively limited food menu, but that just impacts how often you may want to come back for a full meal. For drinks it was a favorite place of ours for a month or two this last summer.

The only thing they put effort in is the decorations on the wall.

i might as well as made a sandwich at home. Thats how simple there dishes are. Cuban Goulash, more like a chunks of meat sitting on a bed of Kraft Macaroni and cheese. Way to get creative. Nachos....burnt nachos are tasty, thanks. I guess i've should have judged this restaurant from the get go by the amount of sandwiches and pizza dishes they had on the menu...I sure miss college...way to get creative.

Staff, well everything is just (and i quote), "GOOD" according to our server MIRANDA. Wait, except the hot dog. Ironically this is the only entree that was finished. Should have went with my gut on that one.

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS MIRANDA, YOU'RE THE BEST :)

I would have given Cosmo a higher rating but their service seems to be lacking on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong -- their sandwiches, etc. are delicious. I just don't think it should take an hour to get three COLD sandwiches out to a table even on a busy day.

I went there for lunch last week with some coworkers  to sit on the patio and we all ordered cold sandwiches with potato salad as our side. The patio quickly filled up after we placed our order and other tables got their food before we did. Our waitress came to the table and explained to us that the printer in the kitchen wasn't working and our food would be out shortly. Tables around us who had been seated and ordered after us continued to get their meals delivered before we saw ours. In fact, quite a few tables ate and left before our sandwiches ever arrived.

I understand that it's not always the wait staffs fault when issues like this arise but at some point, after talking to the waitress, you would think that she would have taken the initiative to tell the kitchen to get our order out ASAP before they continued on with the rest of her tables orders that were placed after ours.

This is not the first time that it's taken an hour to an hour and a half to eat a sandwich at Cosmo. I love the food but something has to be done about the service.

My SIL and I went for a late dinner girls night out. The drink specials are fantastic even though we missed happy hour.

My sister had the BLT while I was feeling adventurous and tried the Cuban goulash. We were both highly impressed with the flavor in both dishes.

We also shared the tres leches cake. Despite the funny name it was pretty good. My SIL loved it (her first) and it wasn't the best I've ever had but I enjoyed. Then again, I'm pretty picky about it being from New Mexico.  All in all a good trip. Nice to know we're not stuck with pancakes or gas station food for late night eats!

Various elements combine to create this bizarre, confused concept that celebrates a cocktail that experienced its hey-day over a decade ago.  Upon approaching the building I noticed the namesake sign above the entrance, book-ended by two of those "tribal troubadour" thingies that I have seen tattooed on various hippies and, I'm pretty sure, came in the "picture-art" file with Windows '95.

Inside, things were weird.  There were the usual restaurant fixtures like tables and chairs, but also a "games" area stocked with Monopoly and Risk. Before I had time to worry whether or not I would have to roll dice to be seated, my girlfriend and I were greeted warmly and shown to a table.

An initial perusal of the menu set off alarm bells in my head.  At first glance, my suspicion was that this was someone's "vanity" project - a restaurant ran by a rich house-wife who had taken her friend's "oooh's" and "aaaah's" over her offerings at cocktail parties and brunch to heart.  I later came to learn that this theory is true, but there's no need to go into that here.  Restaurants with dramatically confused  concepts rarely survive unless there are deep pockets behind them.

A quick look at the drink list revealed everything but a classic cosmopolitan - presumably their signature drink.  Instead, the list offered about twenty variations on the "cosmo" which were really nothing but sweet drinks with the eponymous word attached to the end.  If all of these drinks are cosmopolitans, then is anything really a cosmopolitan?  I ordered a gin and tonic "cosmo".

Upon looking at the dinner offerings, I found a really eclectic range of food items, including goulash, pizza, and sandwiches.  I wanted to ask my server why all the sandwiches have cream cheese on them, but my date asked me not to.  In the end, I ordered a fairly ordinary ham sandwich that cost around nine dollars after taxes.  It came with Lay's potato chips.

The service staff was outgoing, unpretentious, and cool, admittedly.  The bartender invited me to a party (which, while peculiar, I took to be a genuinely friendly gesture).  Even though I've only been in two or three times (my relationship with Cosmo ended the very second my relationship with my date on this occasion did), the staff always seems to recognize me when I run across them in public.

All in all, I found the entire experience pretty comical.  If you're in for something kind of strange, I highly recommend this restaurant.  If you want original cocktails and forward-thinking cuisine, look elsewhere.

great happy hour specials!! my boyfriend really enjoys the beer selection. i love the food; he calls it "hippy food" and wishes there were burgers on the menu, but i think it's great. love the atmosphere. i recently had the ham-and-brie sandwich and it was to die for. great desserts too!

This is a great place to get a light dinner. The menu offers some really interesting items and smaller sized appetizers so you get a chance to try a variety of dishes. The curry chicken salad sandwich was my favorite. My husband got the Thanksgiving sandwich: turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce oh my! The waiter was friendly and didn't hesitate to answer any questions we had.

I wanted to like this place more than I did. I came here for lunch on a Saturday with a coworker. Good service, very cute/trendy decor and mood to the place. Menu had lots of options which sounded really good. I felt my food was really bland and flavorless though. I got the eggsalad sandwhich that is marked as a specialty on thier menu. It had bacon which was different and good bread but really over all nothing memorable, I switch half a sandwhich with my coworker so I tried the roast beef and avocado as well. It was better but still not very flavorful. At least it had avocado which seems to be a little hard to come by in Tulsa. I would like to try this place out for drinks sometime but for lunch will try something else.

We tried this place with friends for the first time tonight.  Being a new resident of Tulsa I am always looking for new spots to try.  We stopped by on a Wednesday evening for a little dinner.

First of all, parking is a potential nightmare for this area.  There is a main parking lot behind the establishment and it was full when we got there and it was on a Wednesday.  Be prepared to circle the lot a few times or park a block away.  You can either enter from the front or back.  If you enter from the front, you must walk all the way to the back by the bar to wait to be seated.  Some people did not read the signs and waited at the front.  The decor is modern with a casual feel.  We were seated at the front window which was nice.  It was still happy hour so I had a pint of Blue Moon for $2.

I can only comment on what I had to eat or what I sampled.  I tried some of the Wings & Things appetizer.  You get boneless honey BBQ wings and bone-in tequila lime wings.  I was not blown away with either.  In fact, I can almost guarantee that I can replicate the boneless BBQ wings in my own kitchen.  I ordered a sandwich for my meal.  I ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich on honey wheat.  It was OK.  The amount of turkey meat was nice but I hardly noticed the bacon at all.  I also chose potato salad as my side dish and it was nice and light

Overall, my initial experience was OK.  The order was all correct for our table but the service was a little lacking.  One thing that did make me question the service was that when asked if I wanted another beer, I wasn't informed that Happy Hour was over.  I take half the blame for not checking the time but I am not going to lose sleep over an extra $2.  I really like that area of town with its cafes, restaurants and bars as it reminded me a little of where I used to live in San Diego.  I will definitely visit that area again in the future.

This review is for the new Cosmo Cafe on Brookside.  It's a perfect place to get a light meal, dessert or a drink.  Trendy decor with table, bar and outdoor seating, and wifi access.  They have a good beer selection in bottles and draught, and a fresh, quirky menu.  Sandwiches and salads are light with interesting ingredients.  I also tried the roast beef bites appetizer which had rare roast beef on crostini with horseradish spread - very tasty.  Overall a comfortable, neat little place to sit and enjoy a nice light meal or a beer.

This is my favorite casual place in Tulsa. Though for some reason every time i do go i get the worst service. In fact the last time i was there, the people i were with were so unhappy with it they wanted to leave. But despite that everything else is wonderful! You can play board games which is so much fun regardless how old you are. And the food is good as well. (I haven't tried the Cosmo on Peoria yet so hopefully the service their is better)

This is a great place!  Awesome food and superlative service!  I love everything that I've ordered from them so far from their chicken quesadillas to all sorts of salads.  My toddler loves it there, too!

I guess the gimmick about Cosmo is that is kind of a "catch-all".  It is a sandwich shop/coffee espresso bar/full service liquor and wine bar.  Maybe that's part of the problem.  If this place committed to one concept it might work better.  I was looking forward to visiting the new location on Brookside.

The food tasted just fine, but it is the sort of thing that someone could easily make at home in 5-10 minutes.  Our server Carol was wonderful.  If you're looking for cold sandwiches without any frills, this is the place.  I will give it another try at dinner and see if the evening selection fares better.  Overall, it isn't a bad place, just overpriced for what it is.

Great one stop shop.  In the mood for a lite meal? Want a late bite to eat? Want to sit out on the patio with your friends and still have a full bar? Want an internet cafe? i could go on.

They basically have a full coffee shop, more tea than I knew existed, full bar, restaurant area, a play area with toys for kids....

We both had sandwiches and soup.  They green chili queso soup was on special, but it was very good.

Oh and bring your laptop and write your own review while you are they.  they have free wi-fi which i think i already mentioned.

Excellent menu for food and drink.  The build your own sandwich/salad menus are excellent.  Service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
Enjoy trivial pursuit or any number of games while you are there.

    The italian nachos are excellent.
