I had always been curious as to what Lucky's had to offer. It took a day at the lake to strike extreme hunger and a Yelp search of where to eat and, kablamo! Next thing I knew I was feasting at this Tulsan hidden gem.

Kelley and I started with the Cherry St. Fry which is composed of calamari, green beans, and onions with Lucky's dipping sauce (which is ranch with sriracha). It was a nice sized appetizer for two people and didn't fill our bellies too much before our main dishes arrived. Complimentary pita and hummus is also served complimentary upon request!

I had the Lucky's cheeseburger. It. was. insanely. good! The bun was textured and tasted like a sourdough pretzel and the meat was cooked just right making every bite juicy while satisfying my crazy hunger. The TRUFFLED FRENCH FRIES were dang good. I mean.. really good. I asked for extra Lucky's sauce to dip them in.

It's safe to say I left not crumb on my plate behind.

Between the excellent service, drink menu, and food I'll definitely be back when my checkbook allows.

Service was disorganized and mediocre. Food average to below average. Chicken fry greasy and tough. Burger lacked flavor. Did not even bring a pen to sign the check. Little wonder there were empty tables during prime time on Friday night.

I think it's safe to say that even Dirty Harry himself would approve of this joint. The dim lights, set over the sleek polished interior, create an intimate lounge-like atmosphere.

Aside from a few people lingering at the bar, Lucky's was surprisingly slow for a Friday evening. We had a rather large group though, so it worked out nicely to get Lucky's undivided attention.

No qualms with the food here, everything looked and tasted incredible. I had the roasted salmon. I was a little caught off guard when the server asked how I'd like that cooked - I don't think I've ever been asked how I'd like my salmon prepared. This was great though because I'd much rather have my fish done to my liking (slightly less than medium) rather than one size fits all: overcooked. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce over the top was a nice touch of savoriness. Speaking of savory, we also ordered one of the specials of the evening: a grilled catfish filet topped with an assortment of mixed seafood (lobster, crab, everything good) served over coconut jasmine rice and a lobster cream sauce. Wow. Having ordered the two dishes, I was under the impression we would eat a few bites of each others' meal, 'sharing' if you will. Apparently I was mistaken. The next time I looked over at the catfish dish, it was nearly gone. Luckily I was able to sneak a bite in before it had completely vanished, and I can certainly see why it disappeared so quickly. That lobster cream sauce was something else paired with the seafood.

The other special for the night was a braised lamb shank. If I ever make it back to Lucky's, I sure hope they have this again because it looked amazing: juicy, tender, and falling off of the bone. Some other notable options included the meatloaf sliders and the chicken fried steak with blue cheese mashed potatoes. Seriously, it all looked good, but there's only so much you can try in one visit.

    Overall Grade: A
