My wife & I visited Azul for lunch.  The place is orderly, clean and comfortable.  There is a separate lunch menu as well as lunch specials.  The regular menu has  a large selection and a special kids menu.  We found the food to be good Tex- Mex.  The meat used was shredded chicken & beef, not hamburger. The churros were homemade and quite good.  We would recommend this as a good neighborhood place with reasonable prices.  Also, our waiter was quite friendly and recently from Mexico.  Our comments are based on experience of living ini south Texas for 10 years.
Review Source:The food was good. It didn't knock my socks off, and I'm not sure it was terribly authentic, but it tasted good. The service was slow considering it was lunch. Hopefully that is something they get better with as they are open longer.
If you're in the neighborhood and want Mexican, it works, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go.
Great place to bring the family for good Mexican food. Â Bright, clean, summer beach vacation feel. Â Lots of comfy booth seating plus long tables and high chairs for bringing out of town guests with little ones. Â Lunch specials run Monday through Friday from 11am - 3pm. Â Full menu offers lot to choose from.
Great chips and fresh salsa with a little kick kept me happily sipping my frozen Peach Margarita. Â Enjoyed my giant serving of Burritos Rancheros. Â Happy to see beef fajita strips, not ground beef, in my burrito. Â So much food, I took half home for lunch tomorrow.
Husband liked his Pollo Costa Azul (chicken and shrimp). Â Server was happy to add the requested Chorizo to his dish. Â Tasty and fresh, but would recommend someone devein the shrimp.
Churros had perfectly crispy outsides dusted in cinnamon  - I'd trade the accompanying ice cream for another churro if I can next time.
Kids' menu offers good number of Mexican food selections plus chicken tenders and the ever-favored mac n' cheese. Â Thought the kids' ham and cheese quesedilla sounded interesting!
This plaza is the northwest corner of the HazelDell/131st (Main St.) round-about. Â Costa Azul is in the back building with ample lot parking.
