Crawdaddy's is a new place that just opened. I want local businesses to succeed, that being said... ugh, Crawdaddy's is horrific! I am new to Muncie and never went to The Creole Kid (the place that was there) so I am in no way comparing Crawdaddy's to the CK. What I am basing this review on is edible food and Crawdaddy's has none! I know to go a little easy on places when they are new but in this case, I am being easy on them when I say the food was un-edible slop. No really- you think I am being mean, then try it for yourself and lose your $6. All entrees are $6 and come with mushy, white rice and greasy, garlic bread. Drinks are $1.50. I ordered the Crawfish Queso something or other and there was ONE single solitary crawfish in it!! For a place called Crawdaddy's you would thing they would have tons of menu item with crawfish- there was one, and this was it. My husband ordered Gumbo and it was the same slop style mess. He compared it to dog food and literally ate a few bites before giving up.
This is no Cajun place, not by a long shot. I think they must buy their sauce from a grocery store, because this can not be homemade.
Do yourself a favor and stay away, or if you have a morbid curiosity try it out and then come back here and write your own Yelp review.
If you really love Cajun food then make the drive to Papa Roux's in Indy- it's a drive, but it is well worth it. I am from Texas, so I am no Cajun food expert but I do know when it hits close to authentic. Papa Roux is the best Cajun I have found in the Midwest.
