I'm a fan of this place! Though the coffee is slightly pricier, it is really good quality and they put two shots of espresso in the regular drinks (three shots for large). Pastries are decent too! The decor is super cozy and homey inside, with lots of space upstairs. I love going there to just spend an afternoon reading or getting some work done.

I have become a frequent visitor here and continue to enjoy the lattes and environment. HOWEVER, although I don't know if the owner is monitoring reviews I think she should know that the baristas are doing her a dis-service. Two of the ladies are consistently unpleasant and seem annoyed to have any customers there. I already have two friends that have gone back to Starbucks because they had enough of the attitudes at Crema. Just a small warning.

I have been a loyal customer since Crema opened ... First, well my friends and I chose :Crema" as our coffee spot to catch up and see each other, specially on the weekends.... Second the coffee girls WERE great, not only as barista  but also with the customers... AND they left :(

I went back twice and I was and VERY disappointed with the service without a smile, with  the weak coffee and the "jokes" from the staff as a gay customer left ... so disrespectful !

    I won't be back ...

Nice coffee, beautiful building inside with lots of neat and cool places to hang out in. Definitely the ambiance I want in a coffee shop. BUT the sign in the front window says that all their milks are organic, and this apparently isn't true. Before I saw the sign, I asked if they had organic milk and was told "we used to use it." Well, that ain't good enough--change the $%&@# sign or else you are just another business lying to customers to get their money. That's why only three stars here.

Really good spot to hang out and nosh on tapas and quality espresso drinks. It's in an interesting warm old Victorian, the staff are nice folks and friendly and Happy Hour is happy.  A very good all-around pick in downtown PG.

While staying at the nearby Pacific Grove Inn, the Mr. and I wandered down for Happy Hour. A good line up of wine and beer as well as eclectic tapas offerings. Food was good, service was great.

I love this place! Great offerings at the coffee bar between the quiches, huge scones and tasty lattes. In the evening stop in for tapas and local wine. Crema is in an old Victorian house and each room has a different decor but all are warm and inviting. My favorite is the peacock room upstairs from the coffee bar.

A great venue if you want a casual place to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning or have a nice dinner party.

I hosted a girl's night out at Crema for 8 in the beautiful wine room. Reserving the space was hassle free using their website and Nikki was very helpful in providing recommendations and making sure my last minute food order was out before my guests arrived.

The wine selection is wonderful and they serve fantastic tapas. There is nothing bad on the menu as everything is seasoned just right and presented beautifully. My personal favorites are the crab bruschetta and the cheese plate.

I also stop by Crema on the weekends for breakfast to enjoy one of their delicious quiches and a cup or two of chai.

The old Victorian house is also delightful. The original charm of the home is preserved but carefully decorated with some modern accents.

A great new start for this old building. Look for amazing things to come from this energetic and creative team. Very friendly and fun staff. Coffee tastes great and is well pulled. The all in house made pastries are excellent too. The wine and tapas bar open Thursday thru Sunday nights is a great place to relax and enjoy a glass with great bites to eat.

I scooted into Crema this morning because I didn't wake up in time to get breakfast before leaving the house. The place is great! Quaint and classy.

I had the sausage and egg breakfast burrito and it was awesome! Also, it was huge! I couldn't finish the whole thing.

Can't wait to come for Happy Hour!!!

The staff was friendly and helpful.

    Awesome!

I'd have to give them a low three for today's breakfast. I can't recommend the vegetarian breakfast burrito or the shroom quiche. I like my quiche moist, but this was wet and had an unappealing texture. The crust was downright gummy. The burrito tasted like something I'd cook at home with Egg Beaters--healthy, but not much flavor. When I go out to eat, I expect something better than what I, a mediocre cook, can make at home.

I'd recommend that they try other suppliers for these dishes--perhaps Bechler's for the quiche, and maybe Mundo's for the breakfast burritos.

The saving graces were the atmosphere--warm and comfortable, the Americano I had, and the pumpkin-ginger bread.

The employees seemed a bit overwhelmed by what seemed to be a modest crowd.

I look forward to trying their evening tapas and adult beverages.

Note: the bottles of water on each table are a nice touch.

Frank Sinatra sets the stage. Friendly smiles at the bar.  Complimentary fried lightly salted gabanzo beans.  Three exquisite cheeses.  Cartucerie slate of three cured meats, cornichons served with  grilled baguette slices. Several glasses of  Flor de Campo Chardonay, Santa Barbara, just splendid.
Attentive service. Fair prices, cheese board $13,  slate of meat and its fixings also $13

It's in the details and the quality  and they have  perfected both, even though it's only the second week.

Bowled over and pleased as Punch this tapas, wine and coffee bar is so close to my home.

We went for a drink and a few tapas after dinner and loved it!  The place is cute and warm, but still has a real fun vibe to it.  The staff was VERY good (our waiter was an under 21 guy who could give tips to some of the older wait staff at other places here in Monterey).

For $23 we had 2 great chocolate stout beers, 2 tapas plus free snacks.

LOVED the place, and I can't wait to go back!!

The best coffee house in Pacific Grove. The pastries are perfect as is the coffee and tea.. You can't begin to find any better customer service in town and Katy is truly a leader in that category.

Let me start by saying that I am a coffee lover to the nth degree.  So when my in-laws purchased a new home on 10th street in PG, one of the first things I did was search Yelp for nearby coffee establishments.  I didn't find much that impressed me, but it didn't matter at the time, because my in-laws are going to completely renovate their new (old) home before moving in.  Well, here we are a few months later, and it's getting closer to move-in time, so I searched again.  Much to my surprise, I found Crema, which, coincidentally is the name of my favorite coffee place where I live, in San Jose, CA.  Different owners, but same name.

I was very happy to see the reviews of this place, because as I said at the beginning, I am a serious coffee lover.  Not the Dunkin Donuts type coffee (and CERTAINLY not Staryucks), but well roasted, and, equally important, properly expressed coffee.  This place has it going on, let me tell you.

I was served by Ian, a friendly enough barrista, who despite having had too much Thanksgiving the evening before prepared for me an excellent morning Latte.  If you know anything about coffee, you know that it's the actual expressing of the shots that determine whether (or not) it's going to have a proper crema.  Ian had been well trained, because he knew how to express the coffee, and (equally important) built the form in the milk that accompanied it.  Lastly, he combined them together properly.

I was so excited to find that this place was the real thing that when Katy (apologies if she uses the Tom Cruise's wife spelling) arrived, and appeared to be just as friendly and competent as Ian, I couldn't contain myself any longer, and engaged in a long conversation with them both, gushing about how happy I was to have found the place.  They put up with my ramblings, and Katy shared a lot of info about Pacific Grove, which she knows very well.

Anyway...  Too late to make a long story short, so let me conclude by saying that this place is the real deal in every possible way.  I was bummed that I didn't get to try any of the pastries, because I'm on a wheat-free kick (I doubt it will last, so maybe next time).  They have plans to convert from a coffee bar to a wine and tapas bar in the evenings beginning shortly.  According to Katy, though, I should still be able to get my evening coffee fix satisfied, because they'll still have it available.  I'm a bit skeptical as to how the afternoon transformation will affect the vibe of the place, but I do likes me some wine and small plates occasionally, so as far as I'm concerned, it will add that much more variety.

Can't wait until the in-laws home is completely renovated, so I can visit more often (that's right - Crema is making me want to visit my in-laws more often!!), and get a right regular coffee fix.

Final thought - be sure to check out the rooms upstairs, which are meant to be used by coffee patrons, but might be overlooked because they're up a narrow staircase.  They are so nice that I took pictures to share with my Facebook friends (to make them jealous).  Once I get them off my phone I might add them to this Review.  They are amazing.  Well decorated, and very very welcoming.  Perfect for friends getting together for coffee.

Well done Crema!!  I certainly hope this place is well-received in the community, because I want to keep coming back again and again and...

Had three shots of espresso (yes three)...had two and thought, hot damn this is good, so i had another.  After my pcik me up for the afternoon I decided, why not a blueberry muffin.  Fantastic, not the best Ive had but the best ive had in Monterey. The thing that really did it for me was the place itself.....oh my freaking goodness, this place is fantastic.  You have to see the upstairs with waterfall thing.

Aww man, I was almost the first to review, anyway... Stopped in today right before closing and the proprietor was more than happy to prepare a beverage for me. Yay for friendly customer service. I had an Americano. The first time I try a new place, I like to start with something basic and unadulterated to be able to really tell how good the coffee truly is. My Americano was delicious and had lovely crema. I believe everything is organic also, including the dairy products. This is definitely a plus in my book. The proprietor also informed me that a wine and tapas bar will be opening upstairs in the near future. The owner also invited me to check out the space upstairs where the new bar will be and it's super cute, cozy and intimate. Can't wait to hang out there. In the meantime, I will definitely be stopping in for more coffee.
