For beer 4 for food 2 1/2. Â I've been here many times and enjoyed the specials on pints and the fact that they have had Anchor Steam, a rarity in CT on tap at times. Â I've eaten here about 3 times and found the food to be mediocre and over priced except for the Clam Chowder which I found to be very good. Â The sandwiches suck and you can get better ones for 3 dollars less at any place in town. Â One thing that I have found particularly annoying is the ownership sitting at the bar and saying how great the food is. Â No it isn't, Â maybe lower the prices about 4 dollars and it will be competitive or just make better sandwiches or just serve clam chowder and Anchor.
Review Source:Since my last review there has been a marked improvement in the kitchen offerings. The Guiness stew and Irish spring rolls are delicious; and for authentic I suggest the Colcannon patties or bangers and mash. I wish they would bring back the Lamb Royale. Now that was a dish!
As always, the beers are varied and the Guiness poured properly.
Check the calendar near the bar for live music nights.
It's a very comfortable neighborhood place. Come in.
I have stopped in about thereabout 4 times now and can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed myself each time it has a near perfect Pub atmoshere with  a bartender that usually has a little bit of the brogue in them. I stop for the Guinness pints a clean pour each time I have been there several times with my wife and some friends and we all agree that its worth the stop I have only eaten there twice the first time I had Fish and Chips it was so good that the next time I eat there I had the same thing and a pint of Guinness.
Review Source:Very cool local bar serving up the standard Irish-American pub brews and food. The father in-law and I grabbed a couple pints while the wives got gussied up, and it was such a nice atmosphere that we just had to stop back in after the ladies were done beautifying. The woman behind the bar (blonde from England) was sweet as could be and was ready to pour another perfect pint of Guinness as our glasses neared empty.
We ordered some bar food and everything was solid. Â Decent wings (although I prefer unbreaded), great onion rings, and super cheesy potato skins. Â Another member of our group got the Irish Spring Rolls--really cool fusion--and judging by her reaction they were every bit as delicious as I could have imagined.
Very comfortable place, good food and beer (and whiskey), nice people. Â What more could you ask for in a pub? Â Added bonus of dart boards too. Excellent.
