I was excited about the options for my burger. I ordered a fried egg, bacon, avocado, mayo, ketchup, and onion. They offered it on an english muffin, but they were out, so I got it on a wheat roll. The burger itself was decent, but the roll was too big (too much bread) and a little stale. The fries were crisp to perfection though. This would be a good place to go see some acoustic music and watch a soccer game. The beer selection is kind of lame, but you cant go wrong with a harpoon IPA I guess. The bartender was pretty sociable and liked to talk about other restaurants around New Haven. I'll go here again I suppose.
Review Source:After reading on Christy's Facebook page that a new chef was hired on May 7th, and the menu was completely overhauled, and the fact this place is right across the street from my office, I had to try it out.
A Heineken ($3), and a Steak Sandwich Platter ($10) later and I was in a food coma. Â The steak sandwich was huge, and filled with top quality shaved steak, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and a bit of demi glace. Â
The side of mixed fries (sweet & regular potato), coleslaw & a pickle were great compliments to the sandwich. Â The portion sizes were just right, I left satisfied, but not over-stuffed or weighed down. Â
Kudos to the new chef!
