Horrible  Service!!Completely ignored by the waitress! I had to get my own drinks. Then the waitress couldn't work the remote to change the channel to watch a basketball game on. Instead at this "sports bar" they had us watching Jersey Shore and Friends. Not a good place to unwind after a days work. Went around 11 pm. This place justifies going a little out of the way to go somewhere else, and there are options!
Review Source:They no longer serve Magic Hat #9. Â Don't ask me why. Â The pretty bartender was unable to provide an informative answer. Â If she doesn't know, I don't know either.
The pool hall is nice. Â The tables are in good condition and there are plenty of them. Â If you're a pool snob, you won't be disappointed by the tables here. Â They keep their equipment in a good, playable state.
I should inform you good people that Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are FREE POOL nights.  If you're a cost conscious pool player, you'll want  to check in on those nights.  Thursday is half price pool if you can't make it on those days.  How on Earth this place stays in business giving away pool time like that is beyond me.  I'm just happy they do it.
There are drink specials to take advantage of, too. Â I don't think they serve food but Gene and Jude's is w/in close walking distance so you're sorted on that front.
If you're not into pool, there are darts, foosball, arcade games and even a separate section for bean bags. Â It's got all your entertainment needs covered.
I just wish it was closer to where I lived. Â I would love to have this place in my 'hood.
I really like Cue-Phoria. The prices are good, and the drink specials are adequate. The staff is friendly enough, the tables are decent, and it's usually not too crowded when I go. This place gets props for having a solid jukebox- lots of variety! It's a great place to go when you feel like having a laid-back kind of night.
No complaints from me!
So I actually decided to not be a hermit tonight, and met a few buddies at Cue-Phoria, which is apparently their new local hangout. That's reason enough to be skeptical, because I've never been a fan of their hangouts in the Franklin Park area. But I think they've finally found a place I wont resent going to!
Upon arrival, I was lucky to find the very last parking spot in the little lot they have. As I'm heading into the place, I get carded by some guy who looks younger than me, who didn't seem to believe it was my real ID. Sure, take your time. Study it. Give it a little bend to make sure it's authentic. Look at my picture, then look at me, then back at the picture. Sorry I don't look exactly like I did in 2005 Â when that photo was taken, douche bag. Now let me in.
This place is actually really big on the inside! I'm not a pool player, but tons of tables. Also plenty of dart boards, poker machines, fooseball, and even bags and an air hockey table! Plenty of stuff to keep us youthful drunks entertained. Beer prices are pretty good too. $2.75 for domestic. Probably my favorite thing about this place: other than my buddies, I didn't see anybody I knew from high school here!
I was at this pool hall this weekend for a tournament and was utterly disappointed.
As a member of a team who played throughout the whole tournament, we spent ALOT of money there. Â Some people bought accessories and cues from them not to mention all the money spent on drinks.
Overall, the attitude of the staff was more along the lines of "you are here for a tournament, thus our service is allowed to be crappy since you have no choice."
Waitresses disappeared. Â Standing at the bar was agonizing as the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other and ignoring the customers. Â In most cases, it wasn't even that busy at the bar, yet it was nearly always a stand there and wait situation while 2 or 3 staff members ignored you. Â Even when you did get served, their attitude was horrible. Â No "thanks", "here you go", "anything else"... nothing.
I suppose because it was a tournament, the bar didn't have any pizza on hand to be ordered. Â Not necessarily a bad thing, maybe they didn't want to deal with, or couldn't handle the capacity of orders in their kitchen. Â Instead, they offered a "subway" buffet. Â Ever occur to them that maybe no everybody likes subway? Â Maybe some people don't eat meat? Â So.. bring in food you say... nope! Â Not allowed.
Here we are, spending up to 12 hours in this place, unable to bring in food, freezing temperatures outside, and constantly battling the staff to allow us to eat. Â Even after the "buffet" was gone, we got headaches about bringing food in. Â The subway next door had a sign up that nobody from the tournament was allowed to come in to eat.
Basically, this place is all about making a few extra bucks at the customers expense. Â Maybe its not like this during regular business hours, but if you are there for a tournament expect to be treated poorly.
I for one can say that I will never go back there on my own free will. Â
Because of the nice tables, you would think they would offer great service during these tournaments to try to bring the avid pool players back on their spare time. Â Apparently, its about the short term fast cash than it is about the long term business.
Alright, SO I AM A POOL SNOB! SUE ME!
Went here for a tournament the other day. I LOVE the decoration and 2 bars. They have like 10 bar-sized and 3 full-sized tables. Mediocre drink specials. I had to sit at the bar and listen to the bartender and another server whine about some other server stealing her customers and other nonsense. Isn't that type of gossip only supposed to be done when you aren't around the customer? I should really teach a class on customer service and public etiquette. Because apparently everyone there has lost their minds as well as their manners.
Contrary to my horrible bar experience, the tables are nice. The bar sized ones are a dollar a game and run on tokens, NOT QUARTERS. I know they have a day for free pool with like a 2 drink minimum would call ahead to ask them). They have this calender of events that include, pool, dart, poker, Foosball, bean bags tournaments. They have a jukebox but it costs a lot of money to play "hit" songs.
Location isn't the best but I was never a big fan of the River Grove/Franklin Park area. They have ample parking in the lot and across the street. They serve food (although they didn't serve food while the tournament was going on...booo). Great for groups and ample seating. This was a very ordinary review for me because service was less than mediocre.
