Their dinner buffet is such a great price at $13.99! Great selection and comes with fresh naan and tandoori chicken served fresh from the kitchen. I love how the buffet includes the popular dishes and has a good mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. The best part is how there's more than 1 dessert to pick from as well! I'm in Indian food heaven when I eat here. :-)

We had the buffet, we came a bit late so the rice was a bit crunchy. However, when we told the waiter they fixed a new batch of rice in 5 minutes. Considering it was a buffet it was pretty good, even the mango ice cream was tasty (although slightly flaky). The butter chicken and paneer was particularly good, we even got a hot plate of tandoori chicken chunks. Vegetarian Vidar was also very happy with the selection. Erlend was a bit meh and voted 3/5, mainly because of said shitty rice.

I've been a long time patron of the this place and have always thought it was great food at decent prices. Now that it has reopened the buffet has almost doubled in size and has a lot of new tasty dishes! Well worth the increase in the price, still a great deal, but now with a greater variety. The only ding would be that the nam is indeed served in a buffet tray and is no longer served fresh, not as good that way, but it still didn't stop me from eating three or four pieces of it! Overall I'd give this place a solid four of of five stars!

Public Service Announcement: This restaurant does NOT serve alcohol. Not a worry if this doesn't bother you but for those of us who enjoy a cold Kingfisher or the like with our curry, good to know before you go! Not sure if they lost their liquor license or what (at least one review mentions a good selection of beers), but as of yesterday, NO BEER!

Thankfully, I'm not completely in the dog house, as my husband, travelling on business, DID enjoy the food at Cuisine of India. Another slight annoyance: though they had a full menu available, they didn't seem excited to cook from it and pushed the dinner buffet hard.

So, though he didn't have the relaxed curry dinner he had planned for (buffets are NEVER about relaxed eating now, are they and this is not a posh restaurant), he thought the food was good (Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh + many others) and liked that they they brought hot naan straight to your table along with a sizzling hot plate of chicken tikka pieces.

His final assessment? 7/10 for the food, 3/10 for the ambiance/service (it was buffet after all) and 0/10 for the availability of Kingfisher or any other alcoholic beverage.

Saturday lunch buffet - tried it based on other reviews, and very much enjoyed it. The Mango kulfi (ice cream) is wonderful, very creamy. PS. They are only open till 3pm on Sat. We will go back and order off the menu and rate the other foods too!

We went on a Sunday around 2:30 and it was pretty packed. We thought that we would have to eat fast before they took away the food at 3:00. We were wrong as the wait staff and owner did not rush us AT ALL and kept the food out until we left around 3:30. There was a huge selection and everything was very delicious!! Some Indian buffets lack meat items and thus my carnivorous husband leaves unsatisfied. Cuisine of India had at least 4 meat dishes including chili chicken, rogan josh (lamb curry), tandoori chicken, and chicken korma not to mention countless veggie items including dal makhani, matar paneer makhani, ghobi aloo, baighan burta, samosas, pakoras, and more! All were very good! Oh, and the dessert is to DIE FOR! Mango ice cream (amazing), gulab jhamun (fluffy and hot - the best I've ever had!), and kheer (a little thick but still very tasty). All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant and while I can only speak for the buffet, I'm sure the regular menu is just as good. Two thumbs up!

For sure, they are back in business (for the last 3 months). (If recall correctly).. There was damage to their roof that had to be repaired.

The food is as good as ever. The night I went they had a chili chicken which was really good.

Very good food, but kinda spendy.. Last time I ordered from here, there was too much oil in the food. I dont remember that being the case in the past. If it happens again, I will have to lower my rating.

website down, number not accepting calls. Did some Google research, found this website: http://www.mycuisineofin…. Called the spicemart number and reached an answering machine - there are two restaurants and a spicemart listed on the website, btw. SO - don't know if COI is permanently or temporarily closed. Just dunno.... Hopefully they'll be up and running again, last time I was there before I was a yelpin', the food was PDG!

Sorry, can't give it five stars, I have nothing to compare it to. We started visiting for lunch with a group from work and we are now visiting it monthly. Excellent food, great price and the mango dessert is excellent. If you are looking to experience food from India I suggest you start here.

One of my favorite buffets. I go every time my stomach allows. $10 gets you 2 tables of options with plenty of sauce to drench your rice and naan in. Nice and spicy and strong for those who like lots of flavor.

Servers are nice, and place is always packed around lunch. Samosas and pakoras could be better, but I enjoy almost everything else on the menu. Nice beer menu including imports.

We're regulars here, so that says we like the food and service. No, it's not always the freshest, or the spiciest, or the cleanest, but 9 times out of 10 it is all of that. I wish it had a better atmosphere, but the food is always a hit with the spice craving adults and also the spice-fearing kiddos.

Amazing mango lassi! Extensive buffet at $12, I was very contempt with a Indian fried chicken appetizer and should not have swallowed any more. Worth every dime!

I love this place! The family and I came for dinner buffet. Very friendly and very good food. To be honest, it's just as good as any Indian Buffet on Devon. Naan and tandoori chicken are served hot and fresh to your table. Little man (6yrs old) is a picky eater of Indian cuisine. He really enjoyed this place. The curries and spices were perfect for his palate as everything was exactly what he expected for each dish. No fusion surprises here for him, just good traditional food.

Went for the Lunch buffet on Saturday right when it opened. My sister said when she went here, everything was cold, but I guess the trick's to go right when it starts. I put red chutney on everything and ate all three dessert buffet options in every spoonful. Is that some white people business?

I have been to Cuisine of India many times. I used to do lunch here every Wednesday, but I now have too many places that I like, so it does not come up in the rotation as often. At work we refer to it as "the Indian place", because it is the only one we go to.

Cuisine of India is in a strip mall. The decor leaves something to be desired as do the environmental controls. It is often too cool in the winter and too hot in the summer.

So why do I keep coming back? The food is the answer. The lunch buffet is the best way to eat Indian food. I always start my meal with a samosa. Then I take a little of this and a little of that. I love the mattar paneer and the lamb dish. The naan is precooked and left in a big pile for the buffet. The quality varies greatly from day to day. Most of the time it is good, but there are days when the naan is cool and soggy and the lamb is all bones, but luckily that is not the norm.

As with most restaurants, the price has been going up. As of today it is $9.95 per person. If it wasn't for the tasty food, I would think twice about paying this much. Even though it is a buffet, there is a limit to how much I can eat!

Cuisine of India is a good solid choice for lunch and you will not go away hungry. There is room for improvement, but I will be back.

i really enjoyed this place! my fiance and i went for the lunch buffet on a weekday the chicken curry and lamb were tender and excellent. they had a whole buffet tray full of tandori chicken that was sooooo delicious. the red chutney was almost desertlike but oh so good, and when you have stuffed yourself silly with all the indian food they have mango ice cream and rice pudding waiting for you on a different table.

the only thing was i overheard another table say that this place was a give or take resturant, meaning somtimes is was good sometimes not. i also took that as they change the buffet items reguarally so call ahead if you want to know whats on the buffet. price 9.95 pp

Have been here a few times. Always very good service. The naan is hot and fresh out of the oven, I could live eating just this, it's that good. Love the tandori chicken here, they cook it just right so the meat stays tender and a bit juicy. The dinner buffet is not huge, but all the items are quality and buffet changes every day, samosa's are included. I do love the mattar paneer. Looking forward to the delicious Mango ice cream.

This is the best Indian restaurant near the northwest suburbs. I wish they would open a location in Arlington Heights!

The buffet is best at dinner time, when sizzling tandoori chicken is brought to your table along with fresh naan. I enjoy many things from the buffet, such as the Murgh Makhani and Mutter Paneer. Their chutneys and raita are great too. You'll find me bringing them in the ice cream dishes over to my table! Try dipping the naan into the red chutney---mmmmm! It's like dessert.

Ok to be fair the only thing I've tried here is the matar paneer, the naan, tandoori chicken and the samosas...by far my favorite restaurant to order from for lunch or dinner.

The food has always been very tasty and fresh and absolutely delicious with very good flavors and just enough spice.

The employees are not too friendly but I could honestly care less because the food is soooo worth !

Try it, then thank me...you will e hooked!

I love Indian food. Even more, I love a good indian food buffet. We're no strangers to the places on Devon and this place definitely holds its own. It's also close to where I used to work, so even better.

They have a rotating selection, but they always have samosas, tandori chicken, etc. All quite good.

If you're in the area, it'll easily satisfy your cravings. Perfect comfort food on a cold winter day. My only complaint is that I'm pretty much useless after eating lunch here.

I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars for this place. My criteria is usually based on my desire to return to a particular place, 4 stars meaning very likely, and 3 meaning not as likely. I have officially tried enough Indian restaurants to recognize mediocrity. I sampled the buffet and found several hits and few misses. The days selection wasn't as good as I've seen in other buffets, only seeing 3 vegetarian dishes for the day. One big problem I had was the freshness of ingredients, I could clearly see the potato component of the vegetable dish consisted of frozen french fries.
On the flip side, the tandoori chicken was brought to the table separately along with warn nan, and both were great. I was also a fan of the stewed lamb and the curried lentils, both very good. Maybe it was the buffet choices for the day not jiving with my particular tastes, but I left here feeling a bit underwhelmed. This is even after renewing my membership to the clean plate club. Who knows, another visit here on another day might bump this place up to a 4 star joint.

Attended a BDay party there. It's in a strip mall and is a buffet but everyone who works there was very nice. The food was OK but I've had way better buffet Indian. Samosa's and pakora were great. Wasn't a fan of the Dal Mahkni which is one of my favorites. Beware of bones in the Lamb and Chicken dishes(almost cracked a crown). I guess it all just seemed a little bland for Indian and not because it wasn't spicy enough. Something just seemed like it was missing. Great mango Lassi's.

Checked in for the dinner buffet and unlike Nektaria above, I did not have to do the poo dance at the restaurant. The food completely agreed with me.

It is an Indian buffet in a strip mall so lets get that outta the way (But then again, Illinois has everything in a strip mall so this might not be so alarming to you).

Not a soul in here on a Wednesday night at around 8pm. I was the Buffet King for about an hour. Wide variety of dishes (at least 10) all of which worked for me. Pretty decent samosas. They bring the free bown soup (direct Indian tranlsation) and tandoori chicken to your table, sizzling like it was from Sizzler. Your standard tasty fried sugar dough balls (again, a direct Indian translation) and mango ice cream.

If I am ever back in the neighborhood and have a hankering for Indian food, this is the first place I am going to.

My coworkers came here for the lunch buffet, and I was amazed by the selection. There was an array spread out amongst a few tables. I wasn't too thrilled about the salad since there was quite a bit of red onions in it. I managed not to fill up on naan and rice and made sure I got a little of everything, but still filled up my plate. The samosas are huge here and was convinced that I had to go back for seconds for them. The food actually isn't as spicy as the other Indian restaurant would be the only difference if you are looking for a heat index factor. The buffet price is pretty comparable, and the service was okay.

I don't know what it is about this place. We've been coming here for years (a bunch of cranky office workers) to bitch about this or that. Every single time, I do the poo dance. I don't know if it's this place or just the spices that seriously do not agree with me. Well, this last time, was it. I've sworn off Indian food for good. I refuse to eat here or any other Indian restaurant ever again.

The problem is that I've had Indian food before (coworkers make it) and one other place in Oak Park. Well, it's tasty enough, but I can't deal with the cramping afterwards. So that's it. I'm done. No more. Thai please.

Tried the lunch buffet. This is one of those restaurants lost in a strip mall, but then again, some of these restaurants turn out to be a surprise. The food was excellent. Everything was spiced to perfection--that is, no one spice overpowered another leaving and all came through in a subtle, but delicious way. I love Indian food, and this rates in my top two for taste. This place knows what they are doing. I highly recommend for an excellent lunch under $10.

I am an indian and trust me to know what authentic indian food is.....

This place rocks for the food... try the chiccken curry and the " kadhi" they sometimes have on buffet.. I am regular.. and can vouch with the quality of the food... I give it 5/5 for food....

BUT then, the ambience, the quality of the restrooms and the service I'd say sis not that grt ! hmm.. maybe 2/5.....

If they improve the ambience and service it will be grt !

All in all... Must go ... in the neighbourhood... Better than many others........

Definitely one of the better places to eat for lunch. Pretty good tasting food but loses points for the lack of change. If you've been here more then once you'll notice that the food choices are pretty much the same everytime. Maybe one dish might be different but they ususally are pretty much the same. Great tasting food, some days are better then others but over all it's pretty good. Beat the lunch time rush and get there before 12. Now that most places are off summer hours you can bet that Friday's are going to be real busy.

Opens at 11:30, lunch buffet is $8.95

For a first time Indian food eater, this place ain't bad, then again I have nothing to compare it to.

The decor may be out of the late 80's. Practically no table decor whatsoever. This is a buffet afterall, cut down on laundry costs by tossin' out white sheets of paper atop the tables. Smooth.

On to the food. I know none of these names. And I can't do spicy food. That part of me sucks. But there is a plentiful amount of salad and chutney (I remembered that one!). Try the yogurt based dressing and you are set. I dabbled in all the eleven courses offered but was most impressed by the radiantly-colored-red-chicken, the lamb with gravy and the green pea infused rice.

The aftercourse offerings were mango ice cream, rice pudding and fried dough with a spectacular taste.

They do have a bar, so if you want some Indian beer or a beverage aside from water, ask the waiter who's busting his nuts off bussing the tables.

The price was adequate, though not very filling. It's all right from time to time, but there are other places in this strip mall and it's not too far for my lunch, so I will come back.

I've been here several times for their dinner buffet ($12+ as of Feb '08) and I must say it's one of the better buffet places I've been to.

Nothing fancy inside. A row of approximately ten sterno warmers by the front windows includes lamb (yes!), chicken (x3 variety), something with potato and peas, rice, something with yogurt, and salad. I'm bad with names.

The buffet also comes with hot naan and sizzling tandoori chicken, brought out separately. I've had better naan elsewhere. The tandoori can be a bit dry and I felt bad for not finishing it as I preferred their buffet dishes.

Next to the hot dishes were three types of dessert. I love their mango ice cream and the creamy rice pudding.

Make sure you go hungry.

Tried their lunch buffet today priced at $7.95 for lunch.

Appetizers:
1) Iceberg lettuce, unripe tomato, cucumber
2) 2 chutneys, 1 raita
3) giant samosas, rubbery pakora

Entrees
1) Peas paneer
2) Deep-fried red-colored cauliflower (???)
3) Chana masala (chickpeas)
4) alu beans (that's what they called it - was potato & green beans)
5) chicken murgh (drumsticks)
6) tandoori chicken (thighs & drumsticks)
7) lamb curry (mashed boneless lamb chunks)
8) basmati & naan

Desserts
1) Mango Kulfi (granita-like dessert from powder mix)
2) Halwa (grated carrots)
3) Gulab Jamun (fried balls milt pastry soaked in syrup served hot)

Pros: Inexpensive, decent array of dishes

Cons:
1) Poor ambiance
2) A touch salty & oily
3) Chicken dark meat only
4) Naan is not made fresh for each table and a bit rubbery
5) Food has a less fine preparation

Finale: I'd rather dine at Himalayan up in Niles. Same price. Better selection. Way less oily or salty. Finer preparation. Buffet selections vary every time we've been, even on the same days of the week (they'll have maybe 1-2 different dishes from the prior visit) AND they even change dishes on the buffet during your meal - you get to sample more dishes. Better ambiance. Higher turnover of dishes means fresher items on the buffet.

Buffets can often be a scary experience. Hard rice, overcooked food. But the Cuisine of India has a solid-quality buffet line. I 've been coming here for years, and the food has rarely disappointed me. It's helpful to get there early, of course, but sometimes, food that's been marinating for a couple hours can be very satisfying. Your choice! The standard rice and pakora + samosas (HUGE) are always on the buffet, and they change around the entrees on occasion: with @ least 2-3 meat dishes for the carnies. Carnivores, that is. Not circus people. As long as I'm offending people, there's also a bar for all you lushes.
My friends usually enjoy the rogan josh (lamb curry). The salad is never brown, which is nice. I've definitely been to spicier Indian restaurants, but there's still more than enough kick to make the heat-seekers happy. (Palak paneer)

The lunch buffet is cheaper ($7.95) than the dinner one (I BELIEVE they just raised it to $10.95). The sizzling tandoori chicken comes automatically with dinner and is included in the price. It arrives on a bed of onions and w/ limes to garnish. I'm a veggie, so I can't vouch for how it tastes, however! Naan is supposed to come automatically with the price for both lunch and dinner. I've seen it on the buffet table, and have had the waiter bring it out to us @ our table.

There are almost always gulab jamuns (fried doughy-cheese-balls in sugar syrup) and mango "ice cream" available. Occasionally a kheer, too. AND... If you're lucky, you'll find their fruit salad there one day. Very rich and very sweet desserts. My kind of place.

They close in between lunch and dinner, so call to double check what the hours are!

Pretty good dinner buffet. Dessert is excellent. Galub Jamun is off the chain! Very sweet and kept warm. Pistachio rice pudding is a good alternative if you don't want something too sweet, its served chilled.
Not very spicy, full of flavor, Indian spices. Most of the foods I found a little too salty for me. (I never eat salt, so most people can skip my salt opinion)
The butter naan was soft and bubbly shaped, good for dipping. I don't think it comes with the buffet, I had to order it seperate. Which blows, because typically most Indian buffets would have naan available. Rice is only available in the buffet, almond rice. Different makhani's aka butter chicken, paneer, etc.
Our server, not sure if he speaks english. He could understand us, but he couldn't speak to us. I wanted naan only. He mumbled something and brought naan with tandoori chicken. You know, in this instance I didn't mind getting the chicken. But, it was unwanted. We were charged for it. Their tandoori, too salty. I thought. My friend loved everything. He said, he'd give it 3.5 stars.
Beer is available.
They need to fix the door to the mens bathroom, change it or paint it. It looks like a bathroom door you'd see at a forest preserve.
