This was a stop on a Western pub crawl back in January. Â
Stadium Club has the feel of an oversized basement bar. Â There is a football field painted on the ceiling of the bar, hence the name. Â Friendly bartenders are fast on the taps. Â And when someone puts in an order for food, the entire bar is overtaken with the aroma that only a deep fryer can produce. Â
On Cribs*, all of the rappers' houses feature "boom boom rooms". Â This is where their respective entourages seem to be permanently stationed, playing pool, drinking, and discussing how to build and sustain relationships. Â If you are a white middle-aged Irish guy from Morgan Park, Stadium Club may well be your boom boom room. Â
*According to the Internet, Cribs** premiered in 2000. Â And yet somehow, the show has had 17 seasons. Â In a similar vein, The Real World, which first broadcast in 1992, has had 25 seasons. Â WTF. Â You get one season per calendar year. Â This bothers me a hell of a lot more than it should. Â
**An even better show would be, "Cribs Repossessed," in which washed up celebrities are evicted from homes they can no longer afford. Â This show probably already exists, but I can't monitor everything on TV.
I have come to this bar for a few retirement/work parties and always have fun. The dj plays a variety of music, the staff is friendly (and occassionally give u a round on them) and it brings a nice crowd. The age range is usually around 30's-40's so it's a nice bar without any problems. Prices are not steep and the bathrooms are always clean.
