Stopped in here yesterday - was home from work and really craving a salad for lunch. Â I decided to give this place a try...
We walked in, and sat at the last booth on the right. Â The bartender yelled over she would be with us in a minute...and she did come over shortly after. Â She took our drink orders, and another girl brought them to us, and we ordered. Â
We ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and one pastrami slider. Â Both were really delicious, and the staff was very attentive. Â It was not very crowded, I would say about a dozen people or so... and I was worried how the service would be with all of the reviews talking about it being poor if you are not a "regular". Â While we were not in there on a crowded weekend night or anything, we were treated perfectly and got great service.
We will be returning for some drinks and happy hours in the future!
I can't believe I have not reviewed Dailys yet!! Wow...ok....this place is your typical sports bar.....the ambiance is just that....a sports bar. Its within walking distance to my house so I took my little brother here when he came to visit...Drab furniture, not really any nice or upscale decor.....and a bunch of drunk patrons. The crowd here ranges from newly 21 year olds from Coto, wannabe Jersey shore cast members, trailer park trash, girls celebrating their 21st bday, sports team fans dressed in team jerseys, and the mid life crisis creepers trying to be cool and dress and act like they're 25. You will find it all here! They welcome everyone from all social circles here, but do they all get along??? find out for yourself! You may get extra lucky and see or hear a bar fight....it happens in south Orange County. Really it does..... I personally prefer a more loungy, upscale, quiet establishment for a night out....this place is a lot to handle on a weekend night, especially if there's a popular game on and people are getting rowdy. Drinks are decent, their big schooners of beer are a good value and they have some good kinds on tap....stay away from the food, it's typical bar food, nothing special. I don't particularly by any means like Dailys, but I don't totally dislike it either....it's a solid eehhhhh.
Review Source:My husband and I went in planning on having a quick beer and leaving before we met up with some friends some where else for dinner. We figured we would spend a half hour there, between ordering, drinking the beer and paying the tab. Apparently our waitress had us on a different schedule, we sat down (place was empty) and she stood next to our table talking to a few regulars for 20 minutes, making eye contact with us but not acknowledging us with menus or even a simple "be right with you", NOTHING. She finally took our beer orders, another 20 minutes goes by and still NO beers. My husband walks to the bar pissed and tells the waitress we are leaving and to cancel the order. The idiot waitress actually looks at him completely confused with a look of "I don't understand why you are so mad." We will never come back here again. That was the second time we were there, first time the food was DISGUSTING, clearly from a frozen bag that has been sitting in the freezer a little too long.
Review Source:LOVE Dailys! Â So many regulars, and even if you're not......never a problem there. Â Or at least not for me. Â The food is typical bar food (but a little better) and the atmosphere is totally down to earth. Â If you like a spot where you can wear flip-flops, shorts and a T-Shirt, then this is the place for you. Â And if you're completely pretentious and full of yourself.....then stay away!
I've been going here since roughly 1994, and it always delivers. Â A nice "Home Town" sports bar! And kid friendly during the day.
This is a sports bar...as others have mentioned you can't expect the moon on food. Know what to order. I get the turkey melt which is plain but good...get it with Irish Fries. I like the chicken wings which are spicy and crispy. Ranch dressing is nice and plain/runny restaurant style which I like. The French Dip sandwich is good. Cajon tacos are good too IMO. Schooners of beer here are voluminous and affordable. Service here is always good IMO and bartenders are great. Happy hour until 7, 3$ well can't be beat in this area. The bottom line is this is a working man's bar and a GOOD VALUE.
Review Source:Anyone talking shit on Daily's is one of those loud, yappy jackasses that all of the regulars can't stand.
Keep something in mind, this place is a restaurant second and a bar first. Know how to handle a bar if you want to order food, as there is not servers around to cater to your every whim. Once again, it's a bar. And of course the bartenders will most likely help the regulars and cute females before they make their way over to you for an order. Yet again, it's a bar, don't expect 5 star dining service.
If you showed up to make this your "regular" bar and didn't like it very much, then don't come back! It's a class act bar with top notch bar tenders who know how to respect loyal customers and not cater first to the loud self righteous jackasses complaining in the corner. It's a mellow bar, and they will never let anyone drive home who is intoxicated. I've seen it countless times on the weekends that bar tenders will refuse keys and cut people off who are wasted.
The only times there is a problem here is when a group of pretentious yuppies or annoying bros decides to make its way in every once in a while, same with the errant "way too drunk 21st b-day" that we all have, and beyond that its a good bar full of good people and a great selection of beers.
Don't talk shit.
I've had good and bad food here, it's definitely bar food. The fish tacos were not traditional street tacos, as they were drowning in shredded mozzarella- not good at all. I had a chicken sandwich once that was OK. The pizza is good, and the wings aren't bad either, nice and crispy. The atmosphere is typical of a sports bar. Some good people watching too.
Review Source:Okay, first things first, this place is too much fun. It is much much bigger on the inside once you walk through the doors.
They are famous for the huge beer mug called the Schooner. Was not sure till I asked what a schooner was. LOL
Now for the good part...if you are a die-hard hamburger lover, then you have to try Dailys Burger. Super delicious and just impressive to look at before you take the first bite. OH..you have to also try there chicken wings. They were amazing.
Note, I found the service terriic and fast. Â Great for coming during your lunch hour.
Daily's Hates Hockey and You'll do all the Waiting on the waitress!!!!
First time to this place. I went there to watch a Hockey Game and with a few friends. I get there and I make my way to the back room, no one is really there watching anything and only ONE TV was on playing sports, the other was a Classic 70's Music Channel. I asked to have the game put on and it took a little while to get it turned on, and she put it on with No sound. So after a while it's my party of 4, another table of 2, and another table of 5 all watching a Hockey Game with no sound!!! And it's been almost an hour and we had not even received Menu's Yet!!! At one point it was kind of funny and she told us she was working on it (getting the sound on), but she had just gotten there??? Really??? It was eventually turned up,,,but not loud enough to really hear anything over the Blaring Loud Football game.
Then Some Manly Looking woman came in and flicked on all the TV's and turned up the Volume to a Football game that no one was watching!!!! Eventually 3 people came in to watch the College Game and another employee made sure the volume and TV was just right for the 3 (Three) individuals watching the game compared to the now 11 people watching the Hockey Game. He then apologizes to say that Daily's is not a Hockey Friendly place.
Now by this time we have finally ordered some food and the WAITress (we did all the waiting) brings out only some of the food to later say "Oh yea,,,I forgot about that order"...
Terrible Service, No consideration for "First Come, First Serve" or "Majority Rules", and a "Sports" Bar with a One Track Mind. The Hunt Continues for a TRUE Sports Grill!! Never Again...
I was just informed about a recent mishap that took place here involving two of my girlfriends. This is a "popular" bar to go to to watch the game and have beer ... but what happened to my friends was inexcusable and had to be documented ... and what better place than here! So One of my girlfriends is pregnant and accompanied the other friend for a Friday night cocktail ... she obviously asked for a water. Then the bartender (believe his name was Eddy) harassed her for her non-alcoholic choice ... and my friend was forced to justify her order by showing him her pregnant and BEAUTIFUL baby bump. He then followed with a comment that made my skin crawl .. telling her that "That's what you get when you F*CK around" Um come again?!?! Hey buddy your a bartender at a local bar ... your pass of judgment is not warranted. I will never be returning here and neither will my two girlfriends ... best of luck with your horrendous staff Dailys ... Ill stick with Friends and Tapas & Beer
Review Source:Have been here once or twice before and after our experience on Friday night (9-23) we will not be going back.
Sat at the booths that surround the back half of the bar and were served only after we flagged somone down. We ordered a pitcher of beer and asked for menus. 10 min later we were forced to flag someone down to place our order, the person that helped us that time was not our waitress.
The food came quickly as was not bad. I would have given more stars for that but what happens from this point took it away.
30 minutes went by before we were approached again. Not a "How is your food so far" or "Can I refill that pitcher for you". She was very busy with what I think would be regulars and could not be bothered to help us. I asked for our check so we could leave.
Even with the worst service I have ever gotten I still tip, this night I did the unthinkable. Under tip I wrote zero with a sad face. Now I dont remember seeing anywhere that there will be a gratuity added on so imagine my shock when I checked by bank account this morning and found that we were charged 20%.
I will be making a phone call to the manager or owner tomorrow as Im sure the person answering the phone on a football Sunday will not be the slightest bit interested in my complaint.
We were hoping to find a place close to home to be "regulars" at and to my disppointment, this will not be the place.
Dailys is hands-down the best hometown bar.
In Rancho Santa Margarita.
I am rating it 5 stars because it is my drinking spot.
Here's the skinny:
Its really big with plenty of seating, there are a dozen or so booths, several counter-height tables with stools, and 20 or so seats at the bar. There are maybe 30 or so HDTVs, maybe more, I wasn't cognoscente enough last night to count them. During football season all of the games are on multiple TVs, its easy to lose track of time in the afternoons.
There is a life-size poster of Carson Palmer on the wall, he went to high school about a mile away. You know, the Heisman-trophy winning, NCAA champion, superstar quarterback? You don't? Oh well. Forget I mentioned it.
The food is decent for a bar, I have had the distinct pleasure of eating the Irish Fries while drinking on many a occasion. A pile of fries, smothered in cheese and bacon, with a bucket of ranch is what I'm talking about.
I can't think of a good ending, so.....
This place is a joke...don't waste your time, spend the xtra time driving to a real bar! Service was was horrible, food was ok, but took FOREVER, and just about every drink I ordered they couldn't make because they didn't have the ingredients?! Which made me laugh when she said they could make me ANYTHING!?
Review Source:I had come here once before, years ago, to have a couple of drinks with some friends. I remember it being cramped, hazy and a bit trashy. Cut to some 5 years later, and I decide to drop in for lunch after hearing they offer a lunch special for local employees. As soon as I entered, I got a little nervous. Despite being a no smoking establishment, it has all the trappings of one. It looks like it should be dumped on the side of the highway near a truck stop, not situated in a non-descript strip plaza in RSM. It was a bit musty inside, but thankfully not the least bit crowded. I grabbed a table and waited for a long while before thinking better of my decision and motioning to get up and leave. That's when a waitress acknowledged me and said she'd be right over.
The menu is made up of mostly standard grill items and sandwiches, nothing that looked like a culinary stretch for the chef standing around in back. I went with the California Chicken Sandwich, which was a chicken breast on a roll with bacon, avocado sauce, cheese, tomato and lettuce. Surprisingly, it was really good. The combination of a succulent chicken breast paired with the melting cheese and crisp bacon, all slathered in a light, refreshing avocado sauce was fantastic. The accompanying fries were mostly ignored, as the few I did eat weren't anything to bother writing about. But this sandwich was excellent. Turns out I didn't get a discount since the specials only apply to a very select, and limited, number of items. I don't know how often I'd come back here to eat; the atmosphere felt a little too dingy. That's usually not a problem for me, but I think it was mostly the fact that I was eating my lunch surrounded by the local town drunks who were sucking down vodka/tonics at 1:15pm. At least the food helped me forget about that temporarily.
Ive been going to this sports bar since before the expansion....which was well over 10 years ago....and  it has always been a good place to suck down large schooners, eat pretty good bar food and watch games on big screens. Â
My favs include the Daily burger, the turkey burger and the wings. Â If you are in the mood for mezi, try the tacos. Â On taco tues they are two bucks and they are stuffed with goodness. Â If you are in the mood for some grease.....try the irish fries, they are legit.
Almost forgot, they also have video games for the rugrats. pool and shuffleboard.
Great local place to hang out with friends and have a few drinks. Â They usually have live music on Saturdays and there always seems to be an area for a large group. Â Â Â Not the cheapest place, but there are a lot more expensive places to drink in this town! Â Â I heard they opened another location in Ladera Ranch, but haven't been out there just yet.
Review Source:Ahhhhhhhhhhh Daily's........well let's just say - EXPENSIVE, nothing, I mean NOTHING here is free. (You order that little bowl of peanuts or pretzel's it will cost you anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00, depending on who is working!). Used to be a regular. Gave it up about 5 years ago after one of the Owner's daughters who worked there attempted to stiff me on change. Ordered one beer, was in the middle of drinking it when a fire broke out in Holy Jim, so I had to leave. Told the Waitress that I needed to 'Tab-out' because of the fire and needed to do so NOW! About 10 minutes go by, she is no where to be seen, she finally reappears, I remind her of my 'Tab', another 5 minutes and I finally get it. I hand her a $20.00 bill, she leaves....gone, does not return...I finally find her after another 10 minutes and ask where my change is? She replies, startled!, 'You WANT your change back???, I thought that was my Tip???? (Yep, $20.00 on a $3.50 Tab. I am going to Tip you $16.50...right!)
Now the place has extremely expensive drinks - there are NO healthy pours here. You will find better food, (pre-wrapped and microwaveable) with normal portion sizes that can be had at the AM/PM behind the bar. (Just kidding, you bring anything in from outside you are asked to leave, which I don't personally have a problem with....if they served food that was edible.) Â Used to be a nice local hang-out...now all the locals hang out elsewhere. Oh and the Cap-per is the RSM OCSD Substation is about 200 yards from here. On any given day you will find the local Constables doing the 'Roundabout' in the Parking lot, (at the start, middle and end of their shift), noting the license plates on the parked cars, then swinging back through about 45 later and seeing who is still there...you can figure out the rest. Go if you must....if you don't go...you are saving some cash and not missing a thing. Hell Chuckee Cheese's is better.
I was really craving a burger one day so I looked up dailys on yelp and decided to give them a try. I order the daily burger with fries...... The burger and fries were great, much more than I expected from a sports bar that I hadn't heard of. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was typical sports bar.
What amazed me the most was the amount of TVs they have. There must have been at least 20 flat screens in there all with a different sports station on.
If your in the mood for good burger an are in the rsm check this place out.
If you don't like Daily's Sports Grill, then you're probably not into sports, bars or grill's. Â
The menu's broad and grub's good. Â Greasy or not-so-greasy; you'll be alright with just about anything you order*. Â Â *1000-Island is....suspect. ;)
(There are) 'plenty of booths w/ plenty of things nearby to keep the ADD-inside all of us more than happy. Â And if not, bring your favorite game and welcome the local stranga's to take a crack at ya if you're flyin' solo.
By the way, not only does this place have wifi, but there's an internet-pod available to you, so you can do this or that online if you're not travelin' w/ a laptop, notebook or crazy-ass schmart-phone, which is DEFINITELY an added bonus for all sort's of reasons.
No frills place to watch sports and get a drink. Â Only descent bar in RSM and there is always a place to sit. Â Ive watch this place grow from a small time bar into a good size sports bar. Â They have a couple pool tables, some video games (Golden Tee!!!) and a shuffle board table (personal favortite). Â It gets pretty busy on Sundays so if your going for football get there early.
They also over WIFII which is a bonus for all the fantasy football fans.
This is just a chill place to get a drink and hang out with friends. Â It's a pretty big bar with lots of places to sit. Â The staff is nice and attentive; I've never waited very long to get a drink/food. Â Entertainment ranges from the live band that plays on certain days (friday/saturday?) to the 2 pool tables (one's free, one takes quarters).
As for the sports aspect, there are some good flat screen tv's scattered throughout the place for you to view; they play a good selection of games on each night. Â Overall, not the best place to meet people, there are some strange folk there but then again this is RSM.
I think it's actually called Daily's Sports Grill, but I could be wrong. Â How can I be the first review when this place has been around for so long? Â Oh well...
This is THE local sports bar for heavily suburban Rancho Santa Margarita. Â First of all, this joint is huge. Â The front of the place is a traditional bar, but head to the back and you'll find a huge area full of tables, memorabilia, and tv's. Â They might need a few more tv's, but what they have does the job. Â
There is also a pool table and some video games. Â Oddly, every time I am there kids are running around wanting to play games. Â Just be prepared for families here if you go. Â
They've got a nice bar food menu that will keep the munchies away and a great selection of beers. Â My friend that lives right down the street from this place loves their burgers, despite being Mr. Exercise and Eat Right. Â What more do you need to watch a game than a nice flat screen, beer on tap, and greasy salty food?
The service here is just OK, but if you're there with friends you might not even notice. Â
There are a few tables outside at the entrance, for the smokers. Â At night there is always a nice cloud of smoke to walk thru on your way in. Â They even have live music every once in a while. Â
Nice place.
