Yeah, I know. Who reviews a Dairy Queen, right? I would normally agree, but this DQ has so frequently exceeded my expectations of a quick service dessert shop that I had to say something.
I don't go to this DQ that often. In the 2.5 years that I've lived in Eugene I've probably only been there a half dozen times. But every single time is the same experience. Friendly, and super fast. Did I mention fast?
I went there tonight, to the drive thru. From when I pulled up, third car in line, to when I was pulling out of the lot with my Blizzards in hand was four minutes. That's crazy. The army of 17 year old girls manning the shop really have it down to a science.
No, I'm not even reviewing the food. It's DQ. You've been there before, and you know what it's like. A high sugar, high fat, delicious guilty pleasure. And you've probably been to a bad DQ, one that makes you feel gross for even being there, or whose employees make you feel like you're troubling them in some way. This is not that DQ. You get in and out fast, minimizing the guilt-inducing time you have to spend there. Good stuff.
