We stopped in here the other day for a business lunch. Â The service was fairly fast, but nothing spectacular. Â The food was pretty good. Â I had a french dip. Â The meat was good, and the Au Jus was tasty. Â I was drinking water, but I only had a small water glass. Â It was the size of like a small juice glass. Â Put your hand around it and you can almost cover the whole thing up. Â The waitress left a carafe of water, and I literally filled my glass up about 15-20 times, adding ice cubes everytime until it was overflowing. Â Pain in my butt. Â I considered giving this 3-stars just for that, but...... ok, I'll put up with it. Â
I doubt I will eat here again based on the price and based on the variety of other eateries in the area.
First time here and very pleased. The Happy Hour specials were good until 7pm and we had some cheesy pub fries: they are tasty. We drank imperial pints of Smithwicks and Guinness. For dinner she had the fish tacos off the happy hour menu and I had a prime rib french dip with side salad. Everything was fast, fresh and delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
If you find yourself in the Denver Tech Center area, check out this Irish Pub. I think it is worth your patronage. We will come here again.
With the warm weather here to stay, my bf and I decided to check out the digs in our new neighborhood and stumbled upon Darcy's across the street! Here's the breakdown:
D = Deals, deals, deals! They offer a killer happy hour, tivia and live music throughout the week/weekend!
A = Awesome staff. We were greeted right away, with smiles and felt very welcome upon arrival :)
R = Roomy bar area and patio! We sat outside and loved it!
C = Cute, homey and typical wood clad Irish decor!
Y = Yummy eats! We noshed on the chicken wings and split the French Dip sandy, which was good, but meat lacked flavoring.
'
S = Step worth distance! So close, I have a feeling I'll be here more often than not!
:)
I was looking for a fun place to go on St Patrick's Day, no not the Saturday before St Patricks Day but actually St Patricks Day. After researching opportunities near DTC I landed on Darcy's to start my day, WOW, I am glad that I did. I had an Irish breakfast that tasted like it arrived strait out of Ireland. The rashers and sausage were as authentic as they get. I also really enjoyed the yorkshire pudding, Irish soda bread and cooked tomatoes. It reminded me of the breakfasts that I enjoyed every morning on my tour across Ireland. I also decided to indulge in a bloody mary, not to Irish but very tasty. It had great seasoning and just enough spice to clear out my nostrils.
Given the rave reviews that I have for the food and drinks, my only minor disappointment was the service. I found the staff friendly and engaging but at times it appeared as though they were overwhelmed and somewhat inattentive. On another day this might have been a bigger deal but, this was a lazy Sunday and St Patricks Day so I didn't mind as much. I will be sure to return to this quaint little establishment to see if they can win me over with other wonderful dishes that remind me of my amazing trip only a few years ago.
Went to Darcy's for a business lunch. Â Wanted to slug down a few pints, but, opted for iced tea instead. Â With all the dark woods , I would definitely like to come back for happy hour after work and polish off a few pints...
Ordered the Reuben with fries --- huge portion of grub. Â Rye bread was fantastic, pastrami was tender and not tough, sauerkraut was spot on --- arguably one of the best Reubens I have eaten in recent memory. Â
Service was good, waitresses were easy on the eyes, food came out quickly...solid establishment. Â Would you expect anything less from a fine Irish eating/drinking establishment?? Â Would definitely come back next time I'm in the DTC.
Horrible service. I went after work with some co-workers and it took 5 minutes for the waitress to bring the first round. She didn't come back very often so i had to go to the bar to ask her to come back to our table- and then she cut me off! It was like 8:00 on a Friday night and I was 3 drinks in.
Review Source:Darcy's is my go-to place in the Greenwood Village area to watch football games on Sundays. The pub doesn't get overcrowded like most bars on Sundays during football season, and it's in a quiet and upscale neighborhood. The food's a bit overpriced for what it is but I recommend the buffalo chicken wings, the breakfast burrito, and the sliders. The decor makes it feel like an authentic Irish pub, and they decorate for every holiday. Tip: on some weekday nights they give chocolate chip cookie samples, and they're delicious.
Review Source:I used to go to Darcy's a few years ago, but stopped because they allowed dogs inside. Â I love dogs, but not when they try to eat my food right off the table. Â I went back a couple of weeks ago for brunch. Â Some things have improved, some things are the same.
The food seems better--a bit more interesting. Â The last time I was there, we were served chicken fingers that you might find in a middle school cafeteria. Â The service is still the same, if not worse. Â We waited an entire hour to have our food order taken. Â The server handed our drinks and plates to us - she didn't place them on the table--very strange. Â She was not friendly or the slightest bit attentive. Â My friends said she's like that all the time. Â
Given the choices in the area, I wouldn't go back to Darcy's.
Darcy's is a staple for the DTC after work crowd. Â They have great specials for happy hour and a decent amount of seating if you're cavorting with a large group. Â
However, I cannot give more than 2 stars, even for cheap drinks. Â The food here is underwhelming. Â I realize this is not supposed to be gourmet dining but give me something that amounts to palatable bar food, please! Â Is that too much to ask? Â I'm not being overly fussy either. Â I've tried a variety of the appetizers here: Â sweet potato fries (worst I've ever had); pizza; calamari, polenta etc. Â Everything was truly "meh" and I believe I'm being generous. Â The only appetizer menu item that was halfway decent was the hot wings...and I cannot vouch for their consistency.
Glancing at the reviews, I see I'm not the only person who isn't in love with the food at Darcy's. Â Somehow they manage to pull the crowds in night after night. Â I can't say that I understand it but apparently they're doing something right.
Stopped in for family happy hour recently and had a good experience. Sat on the patio and 20 minutes after we arrived, there wasn't a seat left in the place! Waitstaff was very attentive and on top of things.
We started with the chips and salsa and while the salsa had a decent kick to it, it tasted eerily like marinara sauce to my palate. Not a good surprise when expecting salsa flavor! Â Everyone enjoyed their meals, 2 had the happy hour andouille sausage and said it was very good with a kick. Â Burger was decent but nothing to write home about. Beer selection is very good and as an added bonus, the Guinness girls were there giving away free pints of Guinness with a take home glass!
They were celebrating their 10 year anniversary with specials all week so it was very busy. Parking in the area SUCKS unless you own a Vespa or a Smartcar...
Overall decent place and good service so I'm sure we'll rotate it into our happy hour locations again.
Continuing out after margarita's at Las Brisas - next stop on the tour was Darcy's Bistro and Pub. Â
They have some wonderful outdoor patio seating for groups or pairs. Â It got a little chilly and our waitress was kind enough to let us move our little bit rowdy table indoors. Â She was a wonderful waitress. Â Two of us did share the queso and chips and it was on point, the cheese was packed with flavor and we licked the bowl clean.
I would say the downside here is the prices, prices, prices! Â They are high even for happy hour. Â Most of there HH dishes are still full price for dinner plates. Â They would do well to allow half orders of some things for a lower price for those of us that don't want dinner, just a couple snacks.
We would go here every saturday night for geeks who drink trivia with quizmaster johnny. They no longer do trivia there so we no longer go there.
Their food selection process was quite odd and since we went there for about 3 years we saw items come and go. Some made sense others even the staff wondered why they got rid of it.
Some of the tops-
open faced avocado chicken ranch melt
pub chips ( think potato chips) freshly fried served with ketchup
adult mac and cheese
cheesecake
any burger or chicken burger
french dip
pub wedge (think this one is a gone now)
wings
mimosas
most items we have to say have 1 ingredient that they are trying to be cutey, or more irish and it makes the whole dish sound off.
Meh is right with this place. Â The food was just mediocre and the service for an supposed Irish Pub was really weak. Â Several times I was looking for a refill or assistance changing the tv channel to a different ncaa game. Â
I think this place should go to being just a bar not a pub and it might be more fitting, or maybe the owners could go check out a few real Irish pubs and see how it's done properly.
This is my go-to eatery for lunch, dinner, happy hour and late night!!! The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and inviting and the service is excellent. Â I have never had a bad experience at Darcy's. Â Once on St Patty's day I even bumped into my high school Social Studies teacher, if that doesn't make you love a place I don't know what will.
If you are in the mood to sample the menu I would recommend the Adult Mac and Cheese, Steak Boxty or really anything on the menu. They offer a late night Tapas menu and drink specials, my kind of place!!! Â Plus the outdoor space is great for people watching.
I'm not really sure what to say about Darcy's. I don't have anything bad to say, my experience there was very average: okay service + okay food + okay prices = okay time for me. I wasn't disappointed in any way but I don't have the urge to get on here and write a long raving review either.
They have a lot of different specials on different nights of the week (I was there at Saturday lunch) so I'm planning to go back and see what they're all about because they looked pretty legit.
This place is A-OK by me.
Um, the brie app is the bee's knees. Â I would tackle my own child to eat the whole of it, her hunger be damned. Â
Having said that the chicken pot pie was just plain weird, and also sour, though the grilled chicken sandwich was good and the same kid I might have tackled seemed to love her brunch Denver omelet with all the fixins. Â
The food is solid, is what I'm saying, and the servers smile a lot, seeming to be more than efficient. Â Outdoor seating makes me and apparently lots of others happy, as does the live music. Â
Most importantly -- and let it not go unsaid -- this place is a sight better than that joint down the street...more authentic feeling and just plain fine.
Overall, 4 stars for the experience and value. Â
I give the happy hour appetizers 3 stars because nothing extraordinary stands out. Â Typical pub fare but at outrageously LOW prices (which I always love). Â Free Wi Fi means I can take my laptop with me, work and have wine and cheap appys at the same time. Â Can't beat that any which way you try.
The happy hour glass of wine is filled to the rim. Â My kind of place. Â Bartender with an accent, very easy on the eyes and wasn't wearing a ring ladies......
Darcy's is a bit of a conundrum: Â one side is a bright, comfy restaurant while the other side is a warm Irish bar, decked out with the typical wooden theme. Â Although it seems like two different concepts got smashed together, it works somehow.
My friend Pam and I decided to sit at a high-top table in the bar area and were promptly served up the awesome happy hour menu. Â We ordered some delicious brews (Kilkenny! woohoo!) and some tasty French Fry-creations: Â cheesy fries and curry fries. Â Both were great apps, although they both would've been much better had we been served silverware. Â Trying to eat fries drowning in curry was a bit difficult! Â I was only in the app sort-of mood, so I didn't look too extensively at the regular menu. Â I'll save that for another night out.
Overall, not a bad little spot in the DTC! Â I'd much rather frequently this little spot than Baker's Street, located almost directly across the street from Darcy's. Â The crowd here seemed a little more laid back, which I dug.
Good food, good drinks, a bit loud but nothing extreme, and slightly spotty service. Â I'm willing to come back, check out the regular menu and sit on the patio on a warm night.
I really think this bar just ended up in the wrong spot...I mean it has all the makings of a super crowded awesome hang out but because its basically in a business park its kind of a M-F place. Â Otherwise I think it's solid.
This is basically how I feel about this place... close your eyes and picture Tobey Maguire: wasted face. Â Singing karaoke...with out having the words on a screen because possibly the worst KJ in all of Denver sets up at Darcy's. Â
That was me. Â (Tobey Maguire gets told he looks like me...ALL THE TIME). Â Either I was too drunk to read the words on the screen or they weren't there. Â I mean don't get me wrong...I still nailed it.
To summarize, my feelings about this place are blurry, spidery, really like all the booze they served me-y, and blown away by the fact that I didn't get kicked out of this place. Â
I think you should go there but I wouldnt go out of my way to get there.
Nice atmosphere and good martinis. A happy hour that isn't really remarkable, but ok.
The corned beef sliders are worth trying out.
I enjoy how the bar is laid-out in a double-horseshoe arrangement, making it seem more convivial or something.
Usually this place seems to have a stale vibe. Just not much energy. Don't know what would help. It's just never as attractive to me as the Baker Street almost directly across Ulster, despite my general distaste for chain restaurants.
Darcy's is one of those rare restaurants that you can find in a strip mall, but once you walk in the door, you forgot you're in a strip mall. Â With inviting Irish pub decor that is realistic and not over-the-top, it's a great relaxing place for a casual dinner or drinks with friends. Â In the summertime they raise their roll-up window between the bar and patio, making for a great place to enjoy the warm weather with a cold beer.
Darcy's has great happy hour specials (both early & late) and daily specials, but you'll see me there mostly on Saturday nights. Â That's when Geeks Who Drink arrive with their trivia contest, and it's a blast! Â If you time it right you can enjoy some happy hour drinks before trivia begins, and get some late-night happy hour snacks when it wraps up! Â Good times!
This was an interesting place. I came here around 9pm on a monday with some friends I hadn't seen in years. We all grew up around here and somehow found our way back for the holidays.
This is an Irish themed pub but I was surprised that for a Denver bar, they only had one local brew on tap. They had some great ones, but sometimes i just want a good local beer.
The ambiance was uneventful. The server was very good and just attentive enough.
The first thing that attracted me to Darcy's was simply the fact that I was new to Denver and that this was a pub on Ulster street. Â I thought Ulster had something to do with the six counties of Northern Ireland, but none of the locals know where that is. Â :(
The best thing about Darcy's was Cam, the soft-spoken Kiwi bartender who greeted me upon entry  From there, it was downhill. Â
The food was meh (seared pork loin ok, but I did not expect blackened/burnt). Â There a decent beer selection, and I discovered a great Mirror Pond pale ale, before I went to Guinness to choke down the burnt, salty pork.
The look was over-lit and subdued, even the muted triskelia, heavy on ochre hues. Â No inviting snugs or nooks, although you are teased by Jameson kegs and a fireplace.
I was happy upon first entering to see UEFA soccer playing on TV, but it was just on one TV, and that one was the worst in the house (a practically unwatchable 17-year old flat screen, picked up for $10 at a Goodwill, no doubt). Â Monday Night Football was playing to an uncaring crowd on the other three TV's.
The view features a garage door opening onto a butt-strewn patio overlooking an austere parking lot . The clientele varied from the OK, to real a-holes - Â just not the easily approachable pub-types of mates.
I'll leave this place to the MNF crowd, and seek my craic elsewhere. Â That pork loin is not sitting well at all.
I work evenings so when I heard Darcy's has a late night happy hour I decided to check it out.
For being an Irish pub I was surprised at how dismal their beer selection is. Â With so many great micro brews in Colorado the selection of generic every day beer was disappointing. Â I settled on a Guinness.
The happy hour menu looked decent but taste wise it was mediocre. Â Chips and guacamole tasted out of a bag and jar and the pot stickers were probably frozen ones heated up.
The bill came up to just over $30 for four beers and two appetizers. Â Not what I call a bargain.
We went to Darcy's looking for a good happy hour and were not disappointed. Â Well, I guess the overall lack of any crowd could have been considered a disappointment to some, but for us it worked out perfectly. Â Happy hour pricing was as expected, very similar to other restaurants in the area.
Food was average bar food, not spectacular, not horrible. Â Service was a bit slow, especially considering the lack of any real crowd. Â
I really love their section of the bar that is outside so you can belly up to the bar and still enjoy a gorgeous summer day.
Right across the street from my new home is an Irish-themed pub. Â Took me long enough. Â
It's a bar. Â It's a DTC bar, but still a bar. Â Looks like a good spot for happy hour and gatherings and such, but I came for dinner. Â I sat at the bar and started with a pint. Â There was a new beer that I wanted to try, but alas, they were out. Â The selection of draughts is pretty good, so I overcame. Â Looking at the menu I saw quite a few choices, so I asked the bartender for her favorite, and she suggested the roasted corned beef and cabbage. Â Not bad at all. Â It was served with fesh green beens, carrots, red potatoes, and horseradish sauce. Â The beans were the best. Â The horseradish was extremely mild, and if you've read my reviews, you know that to be a let-down for me. Â The corned beef was tasty, though, and the sauce made a nice compliment to it. Â I looked at the dessert menu but didn't really see anything that appealed to me.
The downside would be the prices. Â A little too expensive for bar food, I felt. Â I guess it's the location, but I can get the same food at other pubs for a few bucks less. Â
Still, I think it's a good place, I'm interested in going back with friends for some appetizers and booze, as well as weekend breakfast. Â I am interested in trying the adult mac and cheese and the Irish nachos. Â And they have 5 different kinds of Irish whisky to sample. Â Since I live across the street, I'm sure I will try them all one night. Â I'll be back.
I have met up at Darcy's a good 5 times while living in Denver. Â As far as Centennial and the Tech Center goes, Darcy's is my type of pub destination. Â
I usually meet up after work on a Friday for a happy hour beer and seem to stay the rest of the night sucking down more cold beers and having dinner. Â Their outdoor patio, mostly of concrete above a parking lot, is still a good place to enjoy a frosty cold beer during the warmer months. Â Darcy's bar is also a nice place to mingle with others. Â Since Darcy's is an Irish type pub, it does have that resemblance to what I've been to in Ireland, almost. Â The beers on tap are super cold and service I have had has always been good. Â When they get busy, the service does slow down a bit. Â If I'm going to be there for more than 2 or 3 hours, I realize this. Â I enjoy watching the crowd flavor and dynamics change, great people watching and good people to talk to.
After a good time at Darcy's sometimes we head over to Baker Street Pub across the street for their live music on the weekends. Â I'm much more a fan of Darcy's than Baker Street, it's just a much larger scene close by.
3.5 stars... no more, no less.
I like their happy hour specials and appetizers. They are open until 1AM which is great. Darcy's is not one of those loud pubs that you may be used to in Denver. I like how it is sort of away from the night scene that is LoDO. The location is nice and parking is free. It is probably one of the best places around to actually have a conversation and be able to hear each other.
Service was Meh, but I was happy regardless. They have a reasonable beer selection, but don't expect something like Yardhouse. Yardhouse is still the best place around. But Darcy's is an independent owned pub... so that is a plus too.
I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, and honestly the drink specials ($2 almost everything on a Saturday night!?) as well as the corned beef sliders with coleslaw and bleu cheese were 4 if not 5 stars. The overall experience however was fine but not overly amazing. The service was a bit slow, and the clientele ranged from tolerable suburbanites to downright douchebags.
I was also extremely put off but something that I saw go down. There was a couple at the bar who had clearly both been over-served, stumbling around, yelling, etc. The woman in fact could not even stand on her own. They left and walked down to the parking lot and the woman had left her purse behind. The manager went running down there and returned her purse. The part that bothers me is that he then allowed them to get into a Hummer and drive off. This man could barely stand or speak coherently yet here he was piloting a behemoth of a vehicle. Now I know it is not technically the business's responsibility to monitor this sort of thing, yet I feel like at a bar where most people drive to get there, the management should take some initiative on preventing people from driving home totally intoxicated. Instead he said nothing and gave them a wave.
Cute interior, smoke free patio, relatively cheap eats, and yummy eats, so so on the staff, parking could get tough on a weekend.
Finally make it to this establishment for a team bonding experience.
We got there right after happy hour ended - of course!
Draft prices are on par. And they have Paulaner, Shock Top and Blue Moon on tap - wooot!
We started with the Brie and Irish Nachos. Brie was pretty good, but the nachos - seriously how can you go wrong with corned beef and cheese on chips! Sweet!
The last appetizer we partook of was a steak pizza, bruchetta thingy. It was ok - but probably not worth the 11 buck aroos.
The waitress we got was not the friendliest gal on the block. We arrived in waves, all wanted drinks, and some food.
She disappeared after the drinks and we had to order through the hostess to get our food.
They are also quick with clearing the plates - there was still one peice on the steak pizza thing in the middle of the table - everyone playing coy with not wanting to eat the last peice, and pretty much it came down to - who managed to keep their fork!
It was definitely a loud place, so keep that in mind if you want to get all cozy with your honey. Although there is a cool room that can be closed in the back, that could probably be used for that as well. Or a small party too.
I would definitely return if i was in the area  - or to meet up with girl friends as a location we could all meet at. Or maybe for lunch! There are some things on the menu i want to get a chance to try!
This is a review of Darcy's macaroni and cheese dish.
Description: "Adult" Mac & Cheese - fresh grilled chicken breast & penne pasta tossed with mushrooms, basil sun-dried tomatoes, Irish cheddar & Brie cheese sauce. ($12.95)
So, based on the description you would think this m&c dish would be pretty tasty. Â But not so much.
Presentation: Served in a wide round bowl with penne pasta, white cheese sauce with sliced chicken breast on top, which from appearance looked pretty overcooked. Â Sprinkled on top with parsley and extra cheese.
Consistency: Â Kinda sub-par but serviceable if you consistently mix up the pasta. Â This mixture of cheese with the tomato and mushrooms collects at the bottom and does not mix ideally with the pasta.
Taste: Kinda flat but good. Â It's nice but not $13 nice. Â The chicken on top was dry and the mac n' cheese was has yummy with sun dried tomato. Â Irish Cheddar and Brie is a decent tasting combo but the consistency created is not ideal.
Overall: Next time I'll just get the Shepard's Pie.
This place is fine for lunch - but not great. Tuna melt and the Reuben are the best. Burgers are mediocre.
The service is very good. The waitstaff is attentive.
The biggest problem with this place is the parking lot - or lack thereof. At lunch, it is nearly impossible to park in the lot. Usually, you need to park in the hotel lot, behind the strip mall. This is a real pain.
Not a bad place to try if you've never been there and are looking for lunch in the Tech Center. Just go at 11:00 or at 1:00 so you can find parking.
Not a bad little pub. Â It's across from Baker Street on South Ulster in the Tech Center (which I LOVE) so this had to be pretty solid to better my Baker experience.
It...fell short. Â But it was good. Â Diverse clientele, but about what you'd expect for the tech center. Â Service was good; Quick enough (could've been faster but who knew a guy my height could consume Guinness so quickly? Â perhaps I should have shown them my beer gut.) Â
Split some mac and cheese with the lady friend which really isn't mac and cheese at all, it's pasta with cheese sauce -- but delicious. If you're a classic mac and cheese fan though, avoid it. Â Friend had a cheesesteak of sorts and it was also incredibly tasty. Â Large portions of food, good drinks, and a cute joint. Â Unfortunately the beer I preferred was not part of happy hour, and the time at which we got hungry was past happy hour so none of our bill was cheap. Â Because the only reason I ever attend happy hour is because of it's price -- I was disappointed at both these facts.
Unfortunately even though the food at Darcy's is better, the price at Baker Street (as well as its size, game availability, and giant effing patio) make that my preferred place. Â But, Darcy's is good, fun and definitely worth a stop in.
Like others have said, this is a decent enough pub. I didn't eat but I did have a few drinks here. We hit up the late happy hour, which started at 10. Since we arrived a little early (8 minutes early, according to our waitress), we waited until the clock struck 10 to order.
The service, as I hinted above, was a little strange. Our waitress oscillated between surly and flirtatious (with my bf). We got a kick out of her as she snapped at us that the kitchen was closing after we'd already told her we weren't eating.
All in all, not a bad place to grab a drink if you're in the Tech Center. Good selection of beers and unintentionally amusing wait staff.
As far as places in the Tech Center to have happpy hour go, this is probably my favorite so far. It's really open, airy and bright. The service is fine and the happy hour food menu is varied. All these things make it an okay place to me. Also, they have a giant patio which is a great place to enjoy a beer on one of our many beautiful Colorado evenings.
The atmosphere does feel a little like an upscale Bennigan's as I believe someone mention, but without that sense of desperation those chains have, so I like it well enough. Parking seems kind of cramped, but that's not really anything new to me when dealing with Tech Center bars.
I've been to Dublin often and while it doesn't quite feel just like Dublin (Ireland, not Ohio), it does have a nice warm pub-like feel.
They have Guinness on top - full-stop.
The food is real good, and the kids like it there as well. Â They had "kids eat free" on Sat/Sun for a while, then stopped it, then it was back, so while it's a great deal, you never know when they will have it from weekend to weekend.
Good place for a bite and/or a few pints. Â Good location in DTC, friendly staff, reasonably priced.
