When I say I work in Chicago, people usually assume I work in a little cubicle in a high rise that has a nice view of downtown. Naturally, variety is the spice of life here...lots of places to eat.
Unfortunately, I work out in the middle of nowhere near O'Hare. I do not have a car...so my options as to where to get food within a distance my short little Chinese legs can walk to and back in an hour are very limited. Actually, limited can't even describe this...this IS the only place I can get lunch at.
"Want to get dt?" "I'm going to dt." You'll hear these words a lot in the office.
The good:
-Breakfast. Best hangover food ever. You'll see lots of 20 something year olds in here on a Friday morning trying to decide which is better/greasier...an omelet or a sunrise sandwich. The staff is friendly...they know what I want every time I walk in. I'm pretty predictable...sausage or bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin...all for $2.53 with tax.
-Chili isn't that bad. Some days are a hit or miss.
-The chicken salad isn't bad.
-Pitas doused in their ranch can be pretty tasty.
-Some meals are surprisingly delicious -- taco salad, lasagna, American Fried Chicken Salad.....
The meh:
-Prices are a bit high. I try to steer clear of the salad bar....lots of stuff is watered down and since they charge by weight...watch out.
-Soup...not usually a fan.
-Make your own sandwich--usually $7 with the way I make it and I feel guilty every time I pay for one.
The bad:
-Overpriced.
Unfortunately, I have no choice...so whether I like it or not, yes, I'll get dt with you.
