Let's try this again. I attempted this post on Saturday but had no luck due to an IT issue.
The The Detroit Pub in Clinton Township was the place to go for me last week. I have driven by numerous times and have always been curios about the joint. Curious no more! This place rocks. I walked in ans ZZ top was playing, 16 beers on tap (to include the fave PBR), a huge selection of any drink I could think of that a pub should hold, a big billiards room with a stage for the live bands, and tons of TV's and not all on the same channel. I wasn't very hungry so I chose the single burger, it comes with lettuce, tomato, and fries. I opted to add bacon, grilled onion, and American. his is going to lighten your Washington's bout $6.20 and $2.50 for a pint of the blue ribbon beer.
Burger- 3.5
Price- 4
Service- 4
Overall- 3.8
The burger was ideal for this type of place. Nothing fancy, but then again neither is the Detroit Pub. It is a chill place that happens to have good service, food, and selection. Heather was the bartender that night and she was Johnny on the spot and always had a smile. If a single burg just isn't enough for the bear inside of you, they make those things up to a triple. That means three times the goodness and also three times the beer needed to rinse it all down, Either way, I am sure they would oblige!
The Good:
- Decent drink prices, and if you like mixed drinks, they make 'em strong.
- Waitstaff is friendly, attentive, and never had to ask what we were drinking after our first round. Â Memory and attentiveness to detail is a big thing with me, so this was definitely a "plus".
- Smoking out on the patio. Â If you don't like smoking or smokers...just shut up and don't go on the patio.
- Solid beer selection.
The Bad:
- If you go there on a night when there's a band...don't expect to be having any conversations that night. Â At all. Â Ever. Â I don't care where you are in the bar, or even out on the patio...they seem to take "Ours goes to *eleven*" seriously there, and so it's cranked all the way up. Â Yes, you can play the "if it's too loud, you're too old" card...and I'll give you the same answer I gave on smoking: shut up. :) Â I didn't say it was horrible, I just said it's a conversation killer.
Solid place. Â I've been there a few times now, and still look forward to going back. Â Haven't really eaten anything and so can't comment on the food.
