Let's try this again. I attempted this post on Saturday but had no luck due to an IT issue.
The The Detroit Pub in Clinton Township was the place to go for me last week. I have driven by numerous times and have always been curios about the joint. Curious no more! This place rocks. I walked in ans ZZ top was playing, 16 beers on tap (to include the fave PBR), a huge selection of any drink I could think of that a pub should hold, a big billiards room with a stage for the live bands, and tons of TV's and not all on the same channel. I wasn't very hungry so I chose the single burger, it comes with lettuce, tomato, and fries. I opted to add bacon, grilled onion, and American. his is going to lighten your Washington's bout $6.20 and $2.50 for a pint of the blue ribbon beer.
    Burger- 3.5
    Price- 4
    Service- 4
    Overall- 3.8
The burger was ideal for this type of place. Nothing fancy, but then again neither is the Detroit Pub. It is a chill place that happens to have good service, food, and selection. Heather was the bartender that night and she was Johnny on the spot and always had a smile. If a single burg just isn't enough for the bear inside of you, they make those things up to a triple. That means three times the goodness and also three times the beer needed to rinse it all down, Either way, I am sure they would oblige!

    The Good:

    - Decent drink prices, and if you like mixed drinks, they make 'em strong.

    - Waitstaff is friendly, attentive, and never had to ask what we were drinking after our first round.  Memory and attentiveness to detail is a big thing with me, so this was definitely a "plus".

    - Smoking out on the patio.  If you don't like smoking or smokers...just shut up and don't go on the patio.

    - Solid beer selection.

    The Bad:

    - If you go there on a night when there's a band...don't expect to be having any conversations that night.  At all.  Ever.  I don't care where you are in the bar, or even out on the patio...they seem to take "Ours goes to *eleven*" seriously there, and so it's cranked all the way up.  Yes, you can play the "if it's too loud, you're too old" card...and I'll give you the same answer I gave on smoking: shut up. :)  I didn't say it was horrible, I just said it's a conversation killer.

Solid place.  I've been there a few times now, and still look forward to going back.  Haven't really eaten anything and so can't comment on the food.

My new corner bar, Winners has been replaced.  Great staff and well mixed drinks and specials.  the owner gave me free Detroit Pub tshirts before leaving on a deployment, does not get better than that.  Keep up the good work and I'll be coming back for sure!

I love this place. Of all the places our band has played, I consider this one our home. Large and spacey. Games and pool tables for entertainment. Live bands ~check out Amethyst :) ~ and good food. I always have a great time here!

Triple burger was awesome - fix the weak buns and they're the best.  My date had the filet (it wasn't filet but was a good steak.  Fries were a little salty but edible. Service was awesome.  Waitress Erin (red hair) was very attentive and actually Happy. Made you want to be there.  I'll be back!

Fun bar with great bar food.  Good beer specials and they usually have live entertainment on the weekends.  I live close and we love this place.

I'd like to have given 2.5 stars, but settled on 2 rather than 3, because I never had much of a desire to return (even though I did, many times). But I can see from the lack of reviews on the place, this may actually help draw some attention to it.

If you live within a few miles, the place is ok (it was probably about a mile from my old house).  The food is passable, for bar food- not exactly a compliment. But the prices seem to reflect that (it's not expensive), and they usually have decent beer specials. That about sums up all that I like about the place.

The clientele is varied, but they were definitely trying to push the dance music on the weekend, which would bring in a fair share of slutty lookin east side chicks and douche bags. Think the St. Clair Shores variety douche, with more tattoos and less money- yes, a little trashy.  I considered the place too small to to get my attention as a "destination" spot, and to me, it felt crowded really fast (another minus for me, more on the size later)... but it did seem as though some people were settling in destination-wise for the night, even if I didnt. I never had any real issues with any of the patrons that I recall, even though some of them looked suspect.

I sort of disagree with the other review that said there was quite a bit of space. It is by no means tiny, but it always felt tight to be when there was even a modest crowd (and it in no way reminded me of BW3s other than that it was casual). There's a quasi-Irish thing going on here- Shamrocks, some green neon, and that dark wood finish. Not all that convincing as an Irish place, but it did succeed in giving the place a warmer feel. They have fairly nice little patio, and I've never seen a soul on it. And unlike the other hole in the wall bars, this place was well lit with lots of windows- and flirts with being a somewhat nice bar, depending on your qualifications. The construction is only a few years old, so everything was still in good shape.

Like any bar that hires "hot" waitresses in hopes of bringing in the blue collar crowd for lunch or after work beers, the service varied from poor to ok, and not that it really matters, but I don't recall any of them being all that hot, even though you could tell that was the plan (a few cute ones though). I remember once asking one of the bimbos what were their sauce choices with their chicken fingers, and her response was "I'm not sure." followed by a blank stare. Not "I'll check", or "Let me find out",.... but "I'm not sure." You can do the math from there.

Your mileage may vary in regard to the entertainment- sometimes a DJ, sometimes a one-man-band. They had it just about every night of the week, but it was usually a little overbearing for such a small venue. I was single and dating at the time, and it was a good place for casual dates early on, but it would get so loud it was uncomfortable to carry on a conversation... which is fine on a Friday, but on a Tuesday night with 10 people in the place? It always made me start to second guess whether it was a good choice or not.  However, the proximity to my home (especially after having a few drinks) and the cheap prices, made it a convenient spot for first dates and return visits with my now g/f.

Not a terrible place, not great- could make a decent regular spot if you live nearby  and aren't very fussy about food or service. Let's face it- there's something to be said for being cheap and convenient (I believe the kitchen was open until 1 or 1:30am, too). Not some place I'd really take children (though you could), and a change of pace from the dive bars that serve the immediate area... you have to go about 2 or 3 miles in any direction to find a bar that actually has a window, whereas the Detroit Pub has many, avoiding that dungeon-like feel.

I had been to the Detroit Pub location in Mount Clemens and was curious to check this one out.

There is quite a bit of space in here. The atmosphere is a lot like B-dubs (think lots of tables and TVs as well as a full-sized bar but more reasonably-priced and less pretentious than BW3's). Don't know that I'd come here for a Friday evening dinner with the family, but it's definitely a good place to meet up with friends for drinks and grub (and maybe catch the game).

They had some pretty good specials when I came in on a weeknight. They had $10 pitchers (including Summer Shandy) which was a really good price, I thought. Not sure if that's the normal price of "special" price for the pitcher, though.

The wait staff was very attentive, maybe even too much so. My cup would be 2/3rds full and our waitress would come by and top it off from the pitcher. I can fill it myself, thanks.

They have a pool table and it looked like a small dance area (do they have a DJ on weekends?). They had a pretty eclectic music selection playing in the background when I came. There is also outdoor seating, although all you get is a view of Harper.

Nice place. I would definitely come back again.
