THIS IS A BREAKFAST REVIEW AS I HAVEN'T TRIED THEIR NON-BREAKFAST ITEMS.
This place is relatively close to where I live right now. I have tried it for breakfast three times and have to say, it's not up to snuff. The breakfast menu is typical, omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, french toast, etc. They don't really offer any specialty breakfast items (i.e. eggs benedict, heuvos rancheros, crepes, etc.).
My first visit, I went with biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. The gravy was really really thick and the biscuit was too dense for my standards.
Second visit, I went with the meat lover's omelet (although it should be called the pork lover's omelet because it is ham, sausage, bacon and American cheese). I take the blame for ordering the item. I didn't really pay attention to the description and expected some sort of veggie/meat balance in the omelet, but it was more pork than I could handle.
For my final visit, I went with something sweet, a classic pancake. The pancake was fine, but the butter was the cheap butter they used to serve me in public school and the syrup was some sort of Sam's Club cheapness that had little to no maple flavor to it.
To be fair, I haven't tried the post-breakfast dishes (I am peculiar about the catfish dinner), but for breakfast, this place is a disappointment in every area except for the pocketbook, but I can see why the prices are cheap.
