WOW!  WINNER!  I don't normally even try the chain stores, but this one does it right!  Deep smoked chicken, pork, beef brisket, jalapeño sausage on buttered toasted bun. And excellent flavor on the beans and sauces!  Quick service!  But the place is small so you may have to eat in your car.
Review Source:walked in... waited a long time... walked out!!!
On 12/3 my wife and I walked in to this place wanting to test it out for the first time after talking about a craving for bbq. Â There was a long line but we thought normal of that for a Saturday night and excitedly stuck around, which was a HUGE mistake. Â The line seemed to not even budge and the other people were starting to get very impatient, not to mention the customers sitting down eating who had to deal with all these other people bumping into their tables. Looking at the staff they were very slow to get orders out and at some points just stopped to talk to each other not noticing this line of people waiting. The bus boy was extremely rude and just seemed to bump pass people on his way to clean tables. Â I'm sorry but saying "excuse me" does not make it any better when you have chemical or dirty dishes in my face. Â
We proceeded to wait but then started to see other customers get angry once they stepped up to the ordering line. When it eventually got to our turn, 45 minutes of waiting, we got to the counter and ordered a full rack of ribs... they didn't have any and proceeded to tell us that they haven't had any for the whole day. Â So... why was nobody informed in the line that they had no pork products available??? or at least a notice on the counter or the door... we basically stood in line for 45 minutes without anybody saying anything. Â The guy who told us was very rude in telling us that there was no more ribs and didn't even have the courtesy to ask if we wanted anything else. The look on his face was "see you later sucka". Â I've worked in customer service and it might not seem like a good idea to tell somebody your out of stock on a product but when theres a whole line of people with expectations you want to set that expectation when they have been waiting for almost an hour. If there was a sign on the door or I was told 5 miniutes into waiting I would of probably understood and ordered something else or come back the next day.
I'll never go back to Dickie's in Lowell again and probably will never set foot in another Dickie's period. Â RUDE STAFF, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO FOOD!!!
too bad i can't give them negative stars.
Mediocre barbecue but great hot barbecue sauce. Kind of a grungy looking place but a good cleaning would fix that. Biggest problem here is the people behind the counter that are less than customer friendly. They do have excellent sausage and today I asked for a pound but not cut it up. The guy took a piece of sausage and began cutting it into the smallest possible pieces. I asked if that was for me and he said his supervisor won't allow him to sell sausage by the pound unless cut up. I told him my supervisor won't allow me to buy it in tiny pieces. I'll never be back.
Review Source:Decent 'cue for take-away chain, the restaurant is in an excellent location right by the highway. The name is technically "Dickeys Barbecue Pit" but I didn't see anything "pit-like" in the place.
If you're looking for something other than their neighbor Arby's and McDonald's, you've come to the right place. However, if you're looking for really good BBQ, there are other places in Bentonville and Rogers that are better.
My wife wanted the "meat tater" takeaway - it's a massive sized potato with a huge scoop of liquefied butter (it was too late by the time it was done), cheese, meat (about 2 ounces of pulled pork), bbq sauce and chopped green onions. And on top of that, something they call "tanglers" which are just fried onions. It was more than she could eat.
I took the two-meat platter - chopped brisket and pulled pork. It came with two sides so I chose the cole slaw and the jalapeno beans. Not nearly enough bbq sauce and the meat was in rather large hunks like it had been half-heartedly pulled/chopped. Still, there was plenty of it and I was full.
The staff was friendly enough and the restaurant looked comfortable enough for dining. It's not fancy, but a barbecue place doesn't need to be. It just needs a whole lot of napkins and they had them here.
I don't know if I would try this place again. Smokin' Joe's is the same distance away and I think it's better.
Bonus: the wi-fi hotspot from the nearby McDonald's is just barely powerful enough to make it to the restaurant.
Noticed that Dickey's, which I have eaten in OK, has made it to Lowell. My husband got some carryout last night. I was not impressed. First they forgot to give us BBQ sauce so we had to scrounge for some in my fridge. The chopped beef was not that good. I prefer pork but my husband got beef so what do you do? Eat. I've had much better. Secondly the bbq baked beans were horrible. I don't know if they added meat, their bbq sauce, if they were burnt or what but not my cup of tea, course I am not a bbq bean lover. The 3rd item had promise, green beans with bacon. Usually that has to be a winner and while my fav of the 3, I'd still have to pass. It could be that I just wasn't hungry but I can usually eat regardless. I'll pass on this place.
