I've only been to Dodies (in Allen) to drink, so this isn't based off the food.
On the plus side - awesome happy hour. Super stiff drinks. We've sat at the bar several times and watched them make my drink as liquor + splash of Sprite. Not that I'm proud of it, but of the 4 times I've gone there, I don't remember leaving twice. This is essentially The Loon of Allen, if I had to put it.
The bad - it can get crazy/busy at nights. Some of the loud mouthed frat guys in there put a damper on your enjoyment. Something about sideways hats and tank tops is a common theme there. Not remembering leaving, but not their fault.
Service fine. Somebody tell these folks Cajun doesn't mean FIRE HOT. We ordered appetizers of hush puppies and fried pickles. They were good solid standard sports bar fare. However the boiled crawfish were absent onion, garlic and other standard Louisiana seasoning. In lieu, there seemed to be an entire can of red pepper. If you like well seasoned crawfish this isn't the place. The crawfish etoufee was similarly over peppered. The fried crawfish were cooked just right and didn't suffer from the over abundance of pepper. I'm from Louisiana and have crossed this place off my list unless I 'm just looking for a cold one.
