Great Specials For Happy Hour, unique concept for a bar, coupling board games with alcohol and friends. At least at this location they either need to get better board game or make sure that all the pieces to each board game don't go missing. Apples 2 Apples is by far the best game they have, staff is pretty nice, and they definitely know how to make a strong yet tasty cocktail. If this place was in NYC it would be strictly a pre-game type venue. Also I really don't know why you need a DoorMan standing in front of this place, it doesn't get that poppin' does it?!
Review Source:Had a nice night here while visiting Burlington. Plenty of board games to choose from, nice dim lighting, and cool bar! Nice to have the option for $5 drink specials, however be prepared to get what you pay for - quality of drink specials is just A-OK. Strong enough, but not particularly crafted with care.
Review Source:Drinks specials and board games?!?! You've sold me right there. :) Definitely fun concepts. Nice waiters and bartenders with great recommendations on how to spend the night out in Burlington. Unfortunately the crowd tends to be mostly girls. Mostly a sit down bar for girls to catch up with their girlfriends. Fun for a GNO in town! It becomes a little awkward if you have guys in your party.
Review Source:Before I write my review, let me make a comment on some of the previous reviews here on this page:
Have you ever been to a bar before?
When I go to a bar or pub, I usually expect some things. Mostly, that everything is going to be a bit damp, there are going to be drunk people, and that I am not going to find space at the bar. Drink is certainly not perfect. However, the drink specials are always interesting (how can you say no to $2 drafts??!), the board games are fun, and the bartenders are personable. Somehow, I always end up having a good night, and go home feeling great, even if I have a slight headache the next morning.
And might I say, the Cosmos are to die for.
Stopped here with a friend for some drinks one night. Â Atmosphere was fine, but the liquor selection was limited and I wasn't impressed with the drink menu. Â I prefer classic cocktails and while they had some mainstays, there was nothing exciting or unusual to try. Â I stuck with a rye manhattan and it was pretty meh. Â Board games were a nice touch, but they whole place felt a little immature. Â Unfortunately, it's about the closest thing to a nice cocktail joint as one can find in Burlington, so I guess I'll stick to mixing my own drinks for guests in the future.
Review Source:I usually love Drink. The atmosphere, the drinks, the people, etc. However, I went last night for $4 mojito night and was disappointed. I always rave to people about their mojitos, and I was very disappointed with them last night. I understand it's the special of the night, but that doesn't mean they can cut back on the quality. I do not like my mojitos very sweet, and this was more sweet than anything else. It was more like a hint of lime than the actual lime. A friend tried the Mandarin Mojito and said it was even sweeter then my Classic Mojito. So go to Drink, but don't get the special of the night. Unless it's Thursday and in that case, Switchback is $2 drafts.
If I had gone on a regular night, I would have given it 4 stars. But I had to take away a star because I was so disappointed by their mojitos.
This is by far the best place for after work drinks. My boyfriend and I are regulars there, at first we started going for the drink specials - $2 pints on Thursdays and $4 Cosmos on Fridays.
The atmosphere is great, the drinks are amazing (try the house infused vodkas), but the staff is what really makes the place what it is. The staff is really why we go every Thursday. They are always very friendly and personable, and if you are a regular there they will recognize you by name and have a chat with you.
I am not sure on the comments saying that the drinks are expensive. The martinis are reasonably priced, you would easily pay a few dollars more at a restaurant in Burlington. (Come on $2 pints!) If you are looking for an after work drink, before dinner, after dinner, before a show, or just in general, I always highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It's not a grungy sports bar, it's contemporary and classy - you won't be disappointed.
Well lit great place to play board games and talk with people you already know.
The drinks kind of suck, Â their long island ice t specials on whatever night they are on are pre-made sugar mixes don't even look like a long island ice t. Â Â
Unfortunately its not as classy as it wants to be, don't ever use pre-mixed drinks in a cocktail bar its just not cool, it's uncool.
Drink is a very attractive and relaxing bar. Â It sits right downtown about a half block from the local theater. Â You should expect more of a lounge than a bar atmosphere as the space is taken up mostly by couches and coffee tables. Â The bar is nice in the back. Â The bar staff is typically on point with orders and you can usually expect someone to come by your couch without having to walk all the way to the bar to put in an order.
It may not appeal to the usual bar/wings/sports type as it tries to aim towards the eclectic  but it is a nice pre/post show stop and you can expect good service.
Muuuuuch better bars to go to in burlington. The inside is non-descript. There are a couple of couches and some table top games to play. Other than that, there is nothing really going on. They have infused vodka and some decent specials, but there is nothing really defining about the bar. It is esentially a wide open room. Would not go again. Not impressed.
Review Source:My friend and I heard that Drink had some great drink specials, so we decided to give it a chance when we were in town for my birthday.
When we first walked past around 8:00 pm, it was really dead, so we were hesitant to go inside. Although, after grabbing a quick beer down the street at Flatbread, we ventured into Drink and took them up on their Tuesday night special ($5 Long Island Iced Teas!). The drinks were good. I expected the bartender to skimp us on alcohol, since the iced teas were cheap, but they seemed decently strong.
We sat down at one of the couches, which were really comfortable, then saw the stack of board games in the corner. Awesome idea, by the way! The variety of games was good, lots of fun group games that would be even more fun when drinking. We settled on Scrabble. (Oh, I loved how the high scores were posted on their wall, too!) After two games, the place picked up and looked pretty busy from what I could tell, especially for a Tuesday night.
All in all, I really liked Drink. Not the fanciest place ever, but it brought in a bit more sophisticated crowd than your crazy drunken college students. The vibe was cool. Great music - a variety of some old vs. new hip-hop, rock, etc. The people were mellow and down-to-earth. I can't comment on a lot of their drinks, but their specials were just what we were looking for. Definitely felt like it was a place I'd go to back home.
Do you like syrupy, sickly sweet, mojitos? Do you like mint leaves crushed to such a pulp that your teeth look like Popeye's on a spinach bender? Do you like bottom shelf liquor at premium prices? Do you like loud, obnoxious townies taking their pregnant wife for a "classy" drink? You don't? Then stay the hell away from Drink!
Review Source:Went with a large group and sat on the sofa's by the door. Â It was very fun that they had board games. Â The sofa's were actually a bit to comfy, as we all were stuck way to far back in them - sounds like an odd complaint, but it was a little hard to have conversations without sitting up on the edge.
Our waitress was quick and got our orders right away. Â Was a little disappointed that only certain or the vodka infused drinks were on special. Â The options were a coffee one, maple one, and lemon grass. Â None of those were to appealing to me!
Overall we had a good time, but after one round of drinks decided that if we stayed there much longer we were going to fall asleep in the sofas and headed off to a more traditional bar!
I had two Iced Tea mojitos and the spinach artichoke dip while playing board games and lounging on the couch. Â Wow. Â Amazing. Â I could have stayed here all night and we did stay for a while but eventually it was time to go to dinner (please ignore the fact that this drinking took place in the afternoon). Â The people who were sitting nearby were friendly and we engaged in some idle chit chat while hanging out. Â The bathroom was also really nice which is just a small detail that I always appreciate.
Review Source:What to do on a Thursday night while in Burlington? We headed to Drink for a sampling of martinis and other assorted libations. Nice crowd, kinda young, very loud, but a nice vibe. I had several different martinis and a few shots..something called a candy shot? In any event it was tasty and apparently did the job since I have a vague memory of thee.
Review Source:What a great little space. Â Cozy lounge seating up front, diner style banquettes in the back, and tons of board games, score!
They offer beer, wine, a full bar, plus their own infused vodkas. Â We came at an odd "changing the menu in 2009" point, so they were out of a lot of stuff. Â We still enjoyed ourselves and the decent cheese plate (they really need to add a blue to the mix though).
If I was a local, I would definitely hang out here.
'Twas the night after Christmas, and all through B-Town,
Not a table was open; not one around.
The hostess at Flatbread gave us a pager,
That we'd die of hunger was a 2-to-1 wager.
The coats were rebuttoned, and scarfs draped with care,
And back out we trudged into cold winter air.
But what to my famished eyes did appear,
But the sign for Drink, which was very near!
The lighting was dim and the space was so clean,
Our waitress looked like she was only 19.
Quickly she sprung, with menus in hand,
And told us the specials; they didn't sound bland.
The vodkas were infused with care and with fruit.
They were changing the wine list; Cabernet got the boot.
We threw back a few, had a cheese plate with crackers.
The bill for us four came to just 60 smackers.
Eventually our pager went off with buzz,
And we went back to Flatbread simply because...
...We were still hungry.
