So far this is my favorite club in Manch. Â Especially when the weather is warm and the garden area is open - it's great. This place gets packed so when all areas are open it really helps with the flow. Â I like that each section has it's own personality and it's own bar so you don't have to walk through the entire place just to get another drink.
The main room is dark and laser lights, Â VIP seating around the perimeter of the room, has a lower level behind a divider, which I think they should consider expanding the main dance floor into that for more space. Â Seems to play a lot of electronica lately - which I wish they wouldn't. A little is ok, but if I wanted that, I'd go to Grand. I like real House, but this is that inbetween crap you hear on the radio. and truly not that fun to dance to (ever see a bunch of people trying to do techno arms? LOL and just endlessly jumping *sigh*)
The patio is brighter and plays hip hop, it also has a VIP area which is behind the DJ booth, so in a way more private than the main room. Â
The garden area, I don't think there is any music, but the ambiance is very nice. Firepits, cushy seating, trellises with vines and lights etc. It's good when you need to take a breather.
Drink prices seem to be pretty standard for any club in the area.
There is no cover charge, there is a coat check, and I'm not sure what the official dress code is. Â Ladies are always dressed up, but half the men aren't...I actually wish they would be more strict about this. Â Free street parking or $6 in the BoA lot nearby.
I've never felt it unsafe here, most people are just looking to dance and have a good time. The crowd is very mixed, all races, all sizes, it's good I like to see variety, makes things more interesting ;). I find the people at Grand very snobby. and Realm is very sketchy.  In a perfect world Drynk would have Realm's DJ and Grands dress code.  It's dead before 11 so I would never bother going beforehand, unless you want to eat?!. Bartenders it depends, some are super friendly and accommodating and some act like you don't exist - just like anywhere.  No place is perfect, you'd have the same issues in Boston except  then you're also driving an hour, paying $20 for parking, $25 to  get in and crazy drink prices. I'm more than happy to party at Drynk.
We came to Drynk on a Saturday night with a group of friends, probably 15 of us. Before we even got inside, we knew it was going to be a bad night.
First
The entrance issue needs to be resolved. We came as a split group, part couples, part single males and females. At the door there are two lines, one for couples/ladies and one for single males. Needless to say if you're a single male, you'll be waiting quite a long time no matter how much money you have or if you came in a group. It took us about 20 extra minutes of standing outside in the cold before we got up to the front - all the while we were watching girls who came 15 minutes after us just walk in. I was ready to grab a single lady, and say "Pardon miss, please pretend to be my date I'll buy you a drink - I just want to get inside the building." I guess this is how they maintain their guy:girl ratio - but it could be handled a bit better. Maybe 1 guy for every 5 girls in?
Second
Standing room only. For such a debacle at the front, you'd think they would know a thing or two about capacity. If you want to dance, you're relegated to a two-step at best. At least there was no cover charge, because I would totally not pay to wait in line for this.
Third
I am a bartender (and former bar owner), and I've traveled all over New England to try drinks and rate them. I must tell you to avoid the Long Island here. It's watered down, and I think it has about 1/3 of the original alcohol content. I've watched the bartenders make drinks for other customers, and the way to go seems to be [mix + straight liquor]. For example, I've seen a couple of them do 3-4 ounces of whiskey for a whiskey and coke (twice the standard amount).
They do get two stars though, it wasn't all that bad. The girl to guy ratio inside was great, plenty of eye-candy if you're into that. It definitely is a place where girls dress to impress, and guys are just "whatever". The other star they get is for good music selection - there a room in back for more...'urban' styles. The front has more house/top 40.
Final thoughts:
From a former bar owner, this place needs a lot of work. If you're at capacity, do something about cutting down the line. Make it $5 cover for guys. Up the dress code a notch. Do a guest list. Make things fair. Hire some solid promoters. Get a photographer. Make a website. Look to Boston for some good examples.
I'm from Boston so I was anticipating seeing what the vibe of a club in NH would be like. Despite being an hour or so away, it was worlds different. The vibe was totally laidback which was cool, the dress code seemed more laidback also (saw some flannels, hats, thought I even spotted an Ugg or two, not sure though). A friend of a friend had worked there previously and is pretty well known within the club community in Manch, so we always cut the lines. I'm pretty sure there's no cover for women on Saturdays? And if there is a cover it's like 5 bucks or something (same for the club Social around the block which I also liked) which is totally unheard of for covers in Boston, I'm so used to paying 15-25 which makes me feel totally worthless now, ha! Jk. It was a good time, no complaints.
Review Source:A great late night spot after you had some drinks and you are ready to dance. Multi bar areas and DJs going plus an outside courtyard area with a bar and some seating. There are a few small fire pits as well. Not sure if they are a good idea with drunk people dancing around them but they were definetly cool.
Review Source:This place has it's flashes of brilliance and falls from grace all the time. Â This place is the old WB's and is pretty much the same setup and has the same people working there for the most part. Â Sadly, I think Drynk will eventually suffer the same fate of it's predecessor.
Just like WB's, this place was great when it first opened up again. Good crowd, sophisticated atmosphere and good service. Â I really did like the place.
After a while this place just plateaus, get heavy of cheesy and the crowd gets thugged out. Â The dress code policy is completely random. It's pretty much if you look stylish. Â I've seem people with shorts and hats get in and then see others who won't get in. Really? Â This is the last place that needs to act like the fashion police.
I really wished this place could have kept the momentum it started out with.
My friend and I get a spot right out front upon arriving, we also got there at 8, which is quite early for a "club." Â Anyways, if you choose to park at the Bank of America, which is directly next to the club, you have to pay 6 bucks, not bad. Â When we first walked in, I immediately noticed that it was dead (expectedly so), but very nice ambience/decor. Â We decided to get seated at the bar, until another from our party arrived. Â HELLO GUIDO HAVEN! Â Seriously, it's exactly like what other reviewers have commented on. Â Like this is not jersey shore people, and you're NOT that cool. Â There were a few dudes (guidos) seated about 4 or 5 seats down from us, and I could eaves drop pretty readily since they weren't exactly trying to be quiet. Â There was completely inappropriate conversations going on between the barista and at least one of the dudes. Â And she was NOT complaining. Â I guess to make tips, that's the way to go, but as far as trying to convey a "professional" atmosphere, no way. Â I mean I got some laughs out of it, and I myself wasn't offended. Â But it's just something that shouldn't happen especially when there are other patrons in the immediate vicinity.
We our friend arrived, we were escorted to our "VIP couch," and that was AWESOME!!!. Â Excellent bottle service and presentation, with complimentary mixers, strawberries, and whipped cream. Â The vodka we chose came out in a container with dry ice...so it was a smoke show, literally! Â It was pretty cool. Â And the waitresses we had were super friendly and attentive. Â Kinda made be forget about what happened when we first arrived. Â But if you don't have a table/couch, it might not be quite as enjoyable. Â The scene definitely fits the younger crowd for sure. Â And the later it gets, people are dancing and it get's super packed, difficult to get to the bathroom when needed lol. Â If I were trying to meet a guy, I would not come here lol. Â If you're looking to dance and have fun, and hang with a younger crowd i.e. 21-26, you'll love it!
Really cool atmosphere. We showed up around 8:30 pm for drinks and dinner before it got too busy so we didn't end up waiting in the line. The place started hopping around 10pm where it transformed from a normal bar to a nightclub and everyone was dancing and having fun. I've heard many things about them having problems with fire marshals and capacity, so it's best to show up around 9-9:30 so you can settle in before it gets crowded. I've never had a problem with getting in though. Outside is really chill and they have fire pits and heating all around so you aren't freezing. The club inside is packed! You are literally dancing with everyone because it's so tight in there. Drinks are really decently priced and staff knows how to make good stuff. The only reason it loses a star is because when I was there anyways (8:30pm-1am) the bartenders that were serving me were kind of dicks. They just had a bad attitude, unlike the usual bartenders I've met. Not really sure why, but it just made every drink I wanted to order awkward. Otherwise the other staff is cool.
Review Source:**This is a review on the food, not the nightclub!!***
When you walk into this restaurant, you start to feel like you're not in Manchester any longer since this isn't like anywhere else in Manchester. Â There are comfy seats that would be awkward to eat at, so we ended up sitting at a high top table that was so wobbly we thought our drinks were going to tip over and my silverware actually fell off the table several times. Â The plants lining the dining room is kind of a strange touch and I'm not sure of their purpose.
I got the mac and cheese sliders which had so much Ritz crackers on it I actually inhaled some of it which was kind of uncomfortable. Â I think the mac and cheese could have been good if it wasn't so Ritzified. Â My dining companion got the salad "gluten free" - they took off all the toppings and put them on the side, this gave us the impression that they didn't really know what gluten free was. Â I also had the veggie pizza. Â The bread on the pizza was great, the toppings were incredibly salty. Â The food definitely needs some tweaks, but I really enjoyed my red sangria. Â I think Drynk has potential to be a dining destination if they could perfect their menu items. Â I would come back for drinks right away but give them a little bit of time before I come here again for dinner. Â I should also mention that service was great too. Â Best of luck, Drynk: you exceeded my expectations.
Great music, affordable drinks! Would definitely return and recommend.
The man checking id's was a bit ridiculous when he questioned whether my sister's, who was visiting me from California, id was legitimate when she showed an out of state ID, his exact words were "how can sisters be from different states?"
Other than that, loved dancing there!
Got a private table and had bottle service all night around a table with a fire pit. It was nice for a private party. About $500 for the night - included private waitress, 4 pitchers of beer, bottle of grey goose, and a few rounds of shots. Â Other than that it was crowded, two lines to get in the door separated into male and female lines. Girls sobbing drunk being escorted out, and knuckleheads throwing glass and beer bottles. Â Like the last review said - same guidos. It is kind of a joke that there is a dress code when most of the folks here looked like jersey shore cast rejects. Wouldn't go again. Good for the 21 - 23 crowd. Not a great place unless you have a reserved table.
