  LOVE IT HERE! There is no better place in Des Moines to sit on a quet Sunday night, especially in the winter, than by the fireplace at Ducktail. Good drinks, good friends, good atmosphere, good conversation.
  
  I'd like to replicate Ducktail in my basement. One of Des Moines' best kept secrets.

  Recently stopped in for drinks and chit chat with girlfriend after dinner in downtown DSM.  This was not the first time I have been here but is what I would want my 'cheers' bar to be.  Great ambiance, though not sure about all the duck pics hence the name.  They have a well established martini list but my new favorite is the Voodoo Doll...
  
  Give it a try if you have a small group who just wants to relax.
