After coming here from time to time over the last few months, this place has stepped up into making Elephant Bar the place to be on a Saturday night!
The staff has definitely improved their service since the establishment first opened up. Our server Danny takes very good care of us, checking in on us from time to time, and making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Despite punching our orders through ipads, Danny and the rest of the staff does an excellent job of making our dining experience personally tailored to our needs. I have the utmost confidence that we will be well taken care every time i visit!
I have gotten used to the ipads at the bar and must say that they make getting what you want and need much easier and efficient than just waiting around for a server to come by to honor your requests. I also love how you can just pay on the ipad as well and go without having to wait for the staff to close out your tabs. I normally pay with credit card because it's much faster than paying with cash.
The only reason for the 4 star and not the 5 star would be because of the food. They have some yummy dish such as their lettuce wraps and Korean tacos, but some of the food is meh, especially the flatbread. I also wished they had a wider selection of beers, maybe even have a Thai beer or the Japanese Sapporo on tap - this definitely would be more appropriate to have at an Asian fusion restaurant.
Great place went Fri for Happy Hour, Great House Margarita's only $3.00, food is great fast service meet the Bar Manger Amanda, she is so wonderful, caring, helpful, always walking around the area to see if everything is going good for you, great place we will return..... try it, you'll like it.
Review Source:So my friends and I have been going to elephant bar for happy hour lately, probably 4 times in the last 6 weeks. The service has always been really good. The happy hour menu is awesome and the prices are great. 4 dollars for most mixed drinks, as well as a ton of appetizers that are pretty cheap. The ipad ordering system is pretty simple and very useful. Sometimes when its busy the ipad ordering takes a bit but the waiters are good about checking to make sure your order is on its way. There was one particular waiter last night who was by far the best Ive had there so far. His name was Daniel, quick with the drinks, funny made sure our table was clean. He even wingmaned me a bit with the table next to us. Good place great prices/service. Id give it five stars if the bar seating was a little more plentiful and the set up was more friendly for mingling.
Review Source:This place doesn't have an identity at all! Â Global grill bla bla bla bla bla. Â
Reminds me of TGI Fridays. Â
Went there a couple months after opening, to let them work the kinks out. Â NOT!
Bartenders, of which there were four or five, were standing around yucking it up, ignoring my need to get an alcoholic beverage. Â When one finally appeared, it took ten minutes to get a Jack and coke at 9:30 on a Saturday night.
Ordered philly cheesesteak, which was edible but not great. Â They really need a new corporate chef here. Â Everything seems to have a "crust" on it, as if crusting the protein is a new/innovative creation. Â It's overused here and really boring. Â No culinary relevancy here whatsoever. Â Just cattle food for the masses. Â Prices were good, but the food and service wasn't. Â Elephant bar, I tried you twenty five years ago in Palm Desert, vowed to never go back, and I should've stuck to it!
Had always been curious about this place and after seeing the long line at the Yard House decided to come here instead. Me and my brother in law started off with calamari and buffalo tenders. Which were both good :) I ordered a smokehouse burger and my bro built his burger. Had a good waiter was very informative and top of things (Jonathan).
Review Source:I was with Abbie and Kathy, this place sucked, we waited 30 minutes to have a seat in the happy hour section, than they told us that happy hour is just first come first serve, really? Why couldnt you let us know before you made us wait half an hour? The wait staff and hostesses were incompetent, I understand if your new on a job, but it seemed liked the whole team dropped the ball, including manager, he seemed to have everything under control and was taking care of us until the end of this horrible experience, after almost an hour and a half of waiting for our drinks and food they finally came and they were so weak, they tasted like pineapple juice instead of real Mai tais. We paid for our stuff and we decided to talk tot he manager once again about the drinks before we left, he told us he gave us a twenty gift card for our trouble, (I would rather have a taken a refund) when Abbie and I checked the amount on the card after we left it was ten, not twenty. I don't like to complain, but this was one of the worst dining experiences of my life, I was so motivated to tell someone about this that I created a yelp account just to complain about this horrid place.
Review Source:I was with Kathy during this experience and it was ridiculous. The staff was incompetent. The girl who asked for her id, asked her what her birthday was. Hello?!? If you read the birthdate on the card, which is what you're supposed to do, you would see that it says Age 21 in 2012, in huge red blocks right under the birthdate. We were there for a total of 2 hours, waiting for a table so we could get our happy hour on. We get sat at a table that doesnt have a happy hour, even though we specifically asked for one. Finally, the manager gave us an ipad so we could order. It took us 30 minutes to get a table. We ordered 4 Mai Tais and a bowl of edamame. The edamame was good. But we only received 3 Mai Tais. Mai Tais are my go to drinks, so I know how strong they should be. The 3 we got were extremely weak and just tasted like pure juice and sugar. We finally got the 4th one and it was made strong. We told the manager that we already paid but we were highly unsatisfied with our one round of drinks which took two hours to receive. The total bill was $26. He gave the four of us one giftcard and he said it was worth $20. First of all, I don't think I'm ever going to return in the first place, to use it. Second of all, when I went home, I checked the balance online and it only had $10 on it. Are you freaking kidding me?! I would not go here. There's only about what? Ten seats at the bar, which are always filled up and there's not enough happy hour tables. The waitresses were making snarky comments, telling us, "well you're not supposed to be sat here for happy hour, you wait for a happy hour table to open up." Uhm, we already waited half an hour. She also said, "I can call my manager AGAIN, and have him talk to you." She seemed like she just started working as a waitress and was not hospitable at all. And the manager Taylor or Tyler, whichever it was, lied about the gift card amount. $10 doesn't cover the $26 bill and two hours of waiting. Sorry, Elephant Bar but you need to get your stuff together.
Review Source:Let us be clear now - if you really want Asian cuisine, your best bet is to go to a mom & pop place in the area (and trust me, in the San Fernando Valley, there are so many place that would appreciate your patronage) rather than to go to a chain restaurant. I'm not really too interested in eating the food here when the Valley has so many Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese options.
That said, the happy hour here is such a good deal in the LA area - where else could my friend and I order two customized drinks (EACH!) and split a side of sweet potato fries and each only pay $12 with tax and a generous tip? We went the night before the 4th of July, so Elephant Bar was slightly understaffed for the onslaught of people enjoying the long weekend, but the waiter helping our table was really friendly and attentive, apologizing if things were a bit crazy that night. I ordered the house margarita and the white wine sangria - both good and not watered down, despite how inexpensive it was ($3 and $4 respectively).
Each of the tables in the Northridge location have an iPad for you to order with, which was super neat and splitting the bill at the end of the night was done really quickly at our table.
If you find yourself in the Valley, wanting a drink, but not wanting to brave the 101 or 405, Elephant Bar is not a bad place to find yourself at all. Definitely looking forward to stopping by more often.
We finally got round to checking out the new Elephant Bar this weekend. Â Nice and new. Â Our waitress was nice enough but a little over enthusiastic. Â Had that corporate chain brain wash script. Â Upselling app's and cocktails. Â She was good though.
We tried the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Â They were pretty good. Â No complaints. Â
I'm trying to ween myself off of cheeseburgers to keep my 280 lb. Abercrombie and Fitch physique, so I went with a Shrimp and Crab Louie Salad. I was pretty good. Not a cornucopia of shrimp and crab, just enough to get me to not complain. http://www.yelp.com/biz_…
The Queen of Reseda got the Seared Ahi Salad. She liked this very much. http://www.yelp.com/biz_…
I would have gone (4) "Yay! I'm a fan" stars but the Elephant Bar had too much corporate stink to it. Â At the end of our lunch our waitress pitched the "Guest Online Survey" to receive a free appetizer with a purchase of 2 entrees. Â No. Â I don't want to take your survey so you can analyze data to help you sell more "Bold Global Fusion Flavors". Â
Maybe I'm being a little harsh on the EB but I never liked the upsell places like this come at you with. Â
Given the choice of the three restaurants all lined up in a row Wood Ranch, Yard House, and Elephant Bar, I'd opt for Wood Ranch or Yard House everytime.
Came to the Elephant bar for the first time and the food was delicious. My brother and I shared the Mongolian beef and I would seriously come back just for that. I also had a green tea ginger pomegranate spritzer which was sooo good.
But, this review is for Jocelyn. She wasn't our server. Our waiter was a young man that paid no attention to us and I can't remember his name but Jocelyn was outstanding. She took the time to make sure we were enjoying our meal whenever she got a break from her own tables and she was just overall an outstanding waitress. would definitely go back for her grea service.
If I can give them negative stars, I would. Three of my friends and I came to this location today at 9-ish. We specifically asked for happy hour but the waitress placed us at a table that didn't offer happy hour. We waited for half an hour for nothing. The manager came out and made an exception for us. Then comes a waitress that asks us for our IDs. She looked at all of our IDs and then stopped at mine. She then looks up at me and gives me a look and asks for my birthday. Hello?! Look at my ID! I wouldn't be asking for drinks if I wasn't over 21. My friends had to defend me and tell her to look at the ID because it CLEARLY stated my birthday. I don't know if she was new or if she was just plain careless. Our time was already wasted and now I have to deal with an inexperienced waitress? We ordered 4 Mai Tais and only 3 came out. Our drinks took over an hour to arrive. The last Mai Tai tasted significantly stronger than the previous 3. My Mai Tai tasted like juice. Another tasted watered down and my friend's tasted extremely sweet. The service here was completely ridiculous. The manager, Taylor, came out and gave us a $20 gift card to compensate for all of the problems that occurred. Taylor was extremely wonderful but we won't be using that $20 dollar gift card. We wanted an apology. We wanted our drinks remade... Unfortunately, for us, $20 for 4 people meant each person only got $5 worth of food/drinks.. which is not a lot. I just feel like my time and money was wasted. If I'm going to pay for something, I want it made right. Sorry but $20 is not going to cut it. Needless to say, my friends and I won't be back.
-UPDATE-
My friend, Abbie just checked the balance on our gift card.. It only had $10 on it. Unbelievable..
I usually go to Woodranch when I'm out at the mall but decided to try the new Elephant Bar. Â Bad Decision!! I will not go back!
We walked in at 7:30 and a Sunday night and were seated immediately. Â It went down hill from there. Â It took about 20 minutes before we got drinks and about 45 minutes before the food was served. Â The waiter said it was taking a little longer because there was a large party. Â That should not have been a factor since they already had their food when we got there! Â I got garlic lemon chicken which is supposed to be served with brown rice and spinach. Â The flavor of the chicken was good but all the food was luke warm. Â The spinach was replaced with mixed veggies that tasted like they came out of a frozen vegetable medley. Â The rice tasted like it was left over and warmed up a little bit. Â
The only good thing about dinner was the french onion soup. Â That was really good but would have been better if it was hot!
Will not be going back
Wow I don't think this place would be in business if it weren't a chain (and a bar). I got the Korean chicken and Kona BBQ plate with white rice. The BBQ was boring, the chicken flavorless, the ginger sauce that came with it was more Teriyaki than Korean. The white rice wasn't glutinous, which really threw me for an asian meal. And the vegetables that came with it were over-marinated in a salty sauce. My companions' steak was crispy, fried rice a salty-gingery mess, and vegetables almost raw. This restaurant doesn't understand which flavors it wants to give you so it just gives you all of them at once. Big Disappointment. The waitress was nice.
Not sure I should have expected anything else from "global cuisine" that grew out of Texas.
First time at Elephant Bar, ever. Came here on a Friday afternoon. Not too busy and was seated right away. Look around and you can tell it's a new establishment. They've done a great job with the decór and for parents with little ones, they have a changing table in the handicap stall. Score!
The menu items were all over the place; basically catering to everyone. I was disappointed they didn't have passion fruit iced tea or any other fresh brewed tea that's not Lipton. Eh, their water tasted like tap and squeezing a lemon wedge didn't help either. I ordered from the lunch special section and got the salmon dish. Wow!!! Talk about overly cooked salmon! It was dry on the edges and the grill marks were so dark. Was this just cooked to order? I'll never know since I will not be returning. It came with side of rice and veggies. I like my broccolini not chopped up please. The veggies had a hint of ginger flavor & my rice was sitting on a spicy Indian flavored tomato sauce. It also came with a little riata. Ok, whatever, the food was edible. It wasn't anything spectacular and it wasn't terrible. But why settle for that when there is a better restaurant around the corner with a huge beer selection? I view eating out as an overall dining experience and expect food to taste great for the price charged.
I refrained from ordering the pazooki knock off and exited after paying the bill.

My girlfriend and I have enjoyed the Elephant Bar in Simi Valley many times. So when we saw the new one in Northridge, we were pretty happy because of how close it was to our home. The happiness did not last long. The hostess did not ask us if we wanted to sit in the patio before she brought us to a table there. Unlike every restaurant I've ever been to. Then we sat for 10-15 minutes without any waiter or waitress stopping at our table. Pretty frustrating considering how many of them passed by without any acknowledgement what so ever. After twenty minutes we left. Pretty crappy management, we'll be sticking to the EB in Simi. Good luck.
Review Source:I had to go to the Apple store in the Northridge Mall on Tampa. Â My computer was sent to surgery so I left around noon and looked around for lunch. Â Nothing very good nearby but the Apple genius recommended this place. Â I was at the Burbank store about 6 years ago and it was mediocre. Â What the heck, it's been a few years, let's try this place.
Nice hostess, seated quickly, nice physical surroundings. Â A pleasant waitress showed up quickly with a menu and a setup; unfortunately she put the setup too close to the table edge and it fell to the floor. Â No problem, she picked it up and stuck it back on the table. Â So now whatever was on the floor was now on the napkin I was supposed to wipe my lips with....
The menu was pretty broad with a common thread: Â kinda overpriced for what essentially is coffee shop food. Â I ordered the mongolian beef stir fry and and declined a drink which would have added a few bucks to an already overpriced lunch.
The food tasted OK but the meat was rubbery.
All told I would give them a 3 if the waitress had replaced the dirty setup but since she didn't, it's a 2 from me.....

I decided to revisit the Elephant Bar on a recommendation from a friend. Â I had been to the one in Burbank eons ago and thought it was ok but my taste butds didn't really feel the need revisit.
The menu may have changed but food was as i remembered it to be. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, it filled me up and had enough flavor to not complain. As an appetizer we got the Parmesan Crusted Green Beans. Alone, this dish was okay. With the spicy chili aioli it was accompanied by...it was the winner, winner, chicken dinner of the evening. For our entrees, we ordered the Island Tilapia and the Lemon Garlic Chicken Breasts. We both thought, "Yeah, it's edible, but not WOW!!"
We did go after dessert with a vengeance. Â The "e" cookie on the table advertisement looked good. Â It rivaled the Pazookie from BJ's and we all know how decadent that is. Â With a recommendation from our server, we got the "e" with half a chocolate chip cookie and half a white chocolate and macadamia nut cookie. Â She was right. Â That white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with the vanilla ice cream melting all over it was absolutely delicious.
Our server started off great! She brought out my refill of strawberry lemonade before I even had to ask for it. She was attentive and came back often. Maybe she spoiled us in the beginning. After it got a little busy with the dinner rush, we had a hard time finding her to refill our drinks.
Parking is ample, but watch out for the crazy intersection right in front of the door. Â Be sure to look both ways, look straight ahead, look at the cars backing out of the parking stalls, it's a huge cluster ._ _ _ _....if you know what i mean. Â Northridge Mall is just waiting for a crazy accident to happen here.
Walked in put our names in and a short hostess said that it would be 20-25min. After 25min I went to find out the status. The 4 girls were to busy talking to acknowledge me (the Asian girl looked over but didn't help) *yes I need help... That is why I am standing here!*
She told me that I have 5 people ahead of me. I asked how far off they could have been when quoting me originally and she didn't know. She actually said that she had no clue how much longer it could take ( granted if they said 45-60 min I would have been fine, I just want to know a time).
You can check over there, one said (pointing to the bar). I threw down my buzzer and did no thanks and walked out.
Of all the times I have been there I can honestly say that only 1 person makes me go back. That is Ken... A funny and witty bartender.
Love Elephant bar! Their happy hour is a good deal. The happy hour food does not compare to Yardhouse, but Elephant Bar's drink menu is so much better than Yardhouse. Came here on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. Sat at the bar with my friend and ordered a mai tai and a long island iced tea. Along with those two drinks, we ordered sweet potato fries and roll of sushi. The drinks were yummy and strong, but not as strong as some other places.
Didn't try the sushi roll, but the sweet potato fries were good. It also came with some interesting type of ketchup, but it was good. Not bad.
Services was great and one thing about this place is, there is an iPad at every table and you order from the iPad. It gives you a picture of each item which is great and you also pay with the iPad as well. You even have the option to split the check which is great!
Will definitely be back!
Plenty of parking in private lot!
First time trying Elephant Bar. BF and I brought my bf's mom here for Mother's day lunch. Â We waited 30 mins for a table since we didn't make reservations. Â When we got seated our waitress Ana came to take our drink order. She was young and EXTREMELY nervous. She stuttered a lot and didn't know the menu very well. Since it was our first time there we had questions on the menu. For one of the plates she asked us "that one comes with rice right?". Â Maybe she was new. She made the effort to be extra friendly.
It took awhile to get my sangria ROJO and my bf's corona. Once she brought them she forgot the lime on the corona. Who forgets lime with Mexican beer? The sangria was pretty tasty.
Now the food. I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad. It wasn't too big or small. It was just ok nothing special. My bf ordered the orange chicken plate with brown fried rice. It was a little too tangy and it didn't taste like orange chicken. I also got a side of Garlic mashed potatoes. they should just change the name to mashed potatoes they were bland and tasteless. For dessert we had the cookie with ice cream on top. It was just a cheap imitation of BJ's pazookie.
Overall i dont think i will be coming to Elephant Bar again.
Just made a yelp for Elephant Bar!!
First time here, and let me tell my oh my what a beautiful staff! Everyone walking around here looks like they came out of the magazine!!!
Beautiful people, beautiful atmosphere!
As goes for the wait, and the food! Well the wait was a little long and made my family and I a little cranky but as soon as we got seated and Zolie greeted us with her warm smile we forgot all about the wait! :)
Food was wonderful, very filling! My shrimp soup was a tad cold, but our server Zolie, was able to bring me a new one in minutes!!! Very yummy!!
And to conclude this review I must say everyone needs to try the mud pie! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!
Deserved all 5 stars in my book! :)
Can't wait to go back and try the garlic bread!!
food is....just not good overall. Not an item that doesnt taste microwavish, pre-heated, or previously frozen. Rubbery disgusting chicken in the middle of macaroni...gross had to spit out.
Coconut shrimp-nas-teee-g.
only good thing---chicken fingers and grilled green peppers. (separately)
Take this place, slam it against yard house, and throw both carcasses to the dumpster.
So disturbing to see shitty places like this thrive, but then again look around you do you expect anything else.
1....and done
I came here twice in one week so I feel I now have enough information to give a valid review of the place. Â The first time I came here was for dinner. Â I asked the waitress, who was extremely friendly, what she recommended. Â She highly recommended the Mongolian beef so I went with her suggestion. Â It was way too sweet. Â I do like a little sweetness with certain dishes but this was like Panda Express orange chicken sweet. Â Too much for beef really. Â My wife ordered a few appetizers: Parmesan green beans (pretty good), sweet potato fries (nothing special), and the coconut shrimp (very good). Â I also had a margarita which I really enjoyed. Â Overall however only really liking the shrimp, this was not a success.
We came a couple of days later because we wanted to try their happy hour. Â The bartender Ken was really friendly and straightforward about not ordering the sangria because it wasn't that great. Â He did recommend the Long Island in a pint glass (less sour mix, less filler, same alcohol content), which turned out to be really good. Â I actually had two of them. Â Unfortunately that was the only thing good that I had that night.
On to the food that night.
- The artichoke dip was bad, really bad, more like fatty cream dip with a hint of artichoke.
- The calamari definitely came from a frozen bag, I can tell you that much. Â It was so bad it actually made me question if it was really squid or the inner parts of a pig's digestive system.
- The Korean beef tacos were decent, but still not Kogi tacos by any stretch of the imagination. Â
We left pretty underwhelmed by the food in general and vowed not to spend our next available night out at Elephant Bar. Â We have a 1 year old daughter so those nights out don't come easy. Â Despite the witty comments from Ken, we will have to visit Yard House next time for good happy hour food.
Oh an their scotch selection is pretty much non-existent. Â Black label is about all they got.

I realllly want to like this place and I decided to give it another chance because I have gone to another Elephant Bar at another location. Â Honestly the menu isn't all that nothing really stood out to me to try, it was really tough to decide so my friend and I decided to get the Orange Chicken and the Thai High Chicken and for starters the spinach artichoke dip. Â Prior to coming here I heard all the hype about how you order on ipads and I was pretty excited but when our server came he took our order by hand, I had asked him and he said that was for the bar. Okayyyy that makes sense and it's quicker by the bar rather than actual food. Â For a Monday night it wasn't packed at all, it's a clean restaurant and the server was nice.
The food okay so the spinach dip yeahhh it was okay it was realllly oooey gooey cheesy too much cheese and a lot of spinach but it was a lil too spinachy for my taste buds and not enough they give you more chips than they do spinach dip, I definitely wouldn't recommend this-CPK next door kicks their butt any day on spinach dip.
Okay on to the orange chicken, seriously Panda Express had better orange chicken it wasn't as sweet as I expected it to be, the chicken was soft but it wasn't that good. Â The thai high chicken was better, it had good flavor the server said it was spicy there was not one bit of spice in there, it's also cooked with vegetables, there were more brocolli stems than there was actual brocolli so it was kinda gross. Â Overall the meals were average and I probably wouldn't come back, there was nothing I wanted to really eat and I didn't really care for the food.
I'll stick with my CPK.
I'm really bummed this place sucks so much- given that it's brand new and so close to home- I really really wanted to like this place!!!
We came for happy hour. We ordered:
-spinach artichoke dip: dry and not as flavorful as most I've had
-chicken tenders- meh. Nothing special. Meh.
-korean tacos- too heavy, not enough flavor to overpower the thick tortillas- 1 is enough, and the sauce to go with this- doesn't go with them well at all.
-bruschetta- the bread was rock solid
-martinis- are supposed to be strong- Â NOT here! they were weak and watered down
The whole ordering via ipad- it's not original though I bet most of you haven't seen this before. There used to be a place called U-Wink- same idea. Everything fully customizable and you don't have to interact with wait staff aside from the food-running as well. Â It was better there however.
We put in for no onions on one item, and extra plates and a side of sauce as well- Â we did not receive one of these things as we asked for via ipad- NOT ONE.
I had the worst aftertaste from their food and their drink did nothing at all to make me any happier.
Our 'waitress' (food runner- not a real waitress) was this prepubescent girl who was either completely sexist or just had it in for the guy I was with. Don't get me wrong thats fine and all- look all you want but don't ONLY ask him if the food is good, don't ONLY make eye contact with him the entire time. Ah thee desperate youth.
I might give this place another try one day. Hopefully we will be assisted by an adult who is also a professional. Also I will note to myself- to not order any of the items listed above since they were all horrible. Â
I honestly don't even want to think about ever coming back here. With Yardhouse and Wood Ranch right next door- are you kidding me? Â
Get this place out of here!
Still my favorite place for shrimp and sausage jambalaya of all the places I have tried! SO DELICIOUS! yummy rice, spicy sausage, shrimp, and lots and lots of tomatoes! delicious!
The portions are huge and decently priced! The jambalaya was about $10 for lunch portion and $15 for dinner.
Chicken Marsala - that was good but not amazing. It's different than other chicken marsala because the sauce is not as salty as other places so it's good if you don't want it to be too salty
green tea ginger spritzer - this thing definitely takes some getting used to, it's probably really good for you since it does have that huge ginger taste in it...it tastes better when the ice melts and there's a little more water in it
mango raspberry swirl - very yummy but the usual sweetness very good if you like mangos since there is a huge mango taste. The coconut taste is not as strong
Very impressed with the new Elephant Bar in the valley! I like the bar area much better than Burbank. More tables and seating, more spacious. This review will mostly be for the happy hour at EB.
This is my first time ordering from an iPad! So fancy! The waitress was friendly and helped us get oriented to the iPad. We browsed through the menu and finally decided what me and my girlfriends wanted. So we sat for a few minutes but later on laughed because we were waiting for the waitress to take our order but lo' and behold, we can order straight from the iPad! It's pretty neat and fool proof. You can even customize your order.
Sangria Blanco is yummay! You must get it! As for the food, Korean beef tacos for the win! The chicken lettuce wraps are great too. Prices are decent and the food tastes good, it's worth it in my opinion.
Once you're done, you can pay directly on the iPad and swipe your card on the spot! Or you can pay cash and a waitress/waiter will come by to take care of it. You can even split the bill on the iPad! That is another plus in my book!
I would probably frequent this place more often now that there is one close to home. Give it a try and get happy during their happy hour!
iPads = self service at the bar? Hells yes!
This is a great break-away from the uber-busy Yard House next door. I've always enjoyed the food at Elephant Bar restaurants...superb and tasty selections.
Their happy hour is fantastic. Great selection! Though it's only available at the bar, this location has a pretty large bar area. You won't wait long for a seat if it's packed. Plus, yes -- iPads for self-service. Order anything from it and split your own checks right on the device!
We came here for Happy Hour on a Sunday--loved it! It was around 10:00pm and we only had two hours to drink/eat as much as possible. What's different about this place is that they have IPAD's where you can order your food, pay your tab, and most importantly access to Twitter and Facebook (sadly no Instagram, how can I inform people about what I ate?? Tragedy!).
I had the Mai Tai (x4) which was very good but it sneaks up on you, #1 will taste like juice, #2 will have a kick to it #3 will be like WTF...you get the idea. And did I mention it is only $4!
Paired that off with a BBQ Flatbread pizza; perfection.
Staff was awesome, understood our lame attempts at jokes, gave us a fist bump, and let us order for last call with 0.000003 seconds to spare.
I came here for happy hour on Thursday at around 5:45 and it was PACKED! (Happy hour is restricted to the bar area and is open seating.) We had to STAND around at the bar area and wait til someone left. I felt like I was in the way the entire time because the bar area isn't exactly the biggest, especially considering the way they had the tables set up.
Since we were waiting, we decided to grab some drinks until a table opened up. Daniel was awesome! Even though he carded us, he trusted us enough to keep our tab open without getting our credit card info until the very end of our dining experience. I have to admit it was really awkward standing around with drinks in our hands, but ehh watcha gonna do. I got the SKYY Vodka Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini, which was $5 while my boyfriend got a well drink on the rocks for 6.50. The martini was actually really good and I would highly recommend it for the girly drinkers, except that I felt like the martini glass was only half full. Daniel definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol content in there so I guess I can't complain too much.
After standing around for about 15 minutes, one of the patrons was nice enough to offer up their table once they were done with it. We sat down with dirty napkins and used silverware and all still on the table for the next ten minutes.
Our server was extremely sweet and nice and got us everything we needed in a decent amount of time, so can't complain their either. We ordered the artichoke dip as well as the breaded buffalo chicken tenders. Both were really good, but nothing special. Typical happy hour food.
I would have given elephant bar 3.5 stars, but I decided to go for four since the service was good. I can't really judge the food too much since I only got two appetizers that are pretty standard at most restaurants. I think I would give this place another shot, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice for dinner, but it will definitely be at the top of my list for happy hour.
I was disappointed coming here. Everyone that ever mentioned Elephant Bar said good things about it to me. But I wasn't impressed. I only liked the smoothie I had. The food was not enjoyable. I ordered a California Fruit Salad with Chicken. It had a strange tanginess to it. My friend got the Mongolian beef and her rice was way too gingery. I could smell it before I put it in my mouth. My other friend got the stir fry that was supposed to have tofu in it. We weren't even sure if there was any in it.
The only thing that made up for the lack luster was our waitress. She was really attentive, helpful and friendly. I'll probably come back and try it again in a month or so since it's new and they're probably working out the glitches.
