I consider Elia's another one of the few "hidden" gems of the South Bend dining scene. I usually wind up getting the grill combo, which consists of shish kebab, shish tawook, and kafta, and pair it with one of their inexpensive appetizer salads - probably just so I feel better about taking down a huge meat dish - and I wind up never finishing all my food. ;) Luckily their pistachio baklava, which is wonderful, is sized perfectly for that little bit of dessert that you can barely finish after a big meal. I'm also a big fan of their grape leaves and their shwarma dishes.
Service can be a bit spotty when they are super busy, but usually the service is friendly and attentive and the waiters get to know you pretty well after a few visits, giving it an almost family atmosphere.
They also carry Almaza, a really good Lebanese pilsner, which is a huge plus. :)
