Dog N Mug

Went to Dog'N'Mug on Mckinley Highway in South Bend for "dessert" last night with the boyfriend. Got a footlong Chili, Cheese and Onion Footlong Angus; Oni rings; and a Root Beer.  We come here quite a bit and recommend it as well.
Oh my goodness. Words cannot describe the delicious goodness of a good dog, and OH BOY does Dogn'N'Mug have a GOOD DOG!!!
The Angus foot long was tender, nice an pink on the inside of the casing, and very nice flavor.
The chili was a homestyle bean chili, not the ground meat DQ stuff, the cheese sauce hot and the onions just chopped.
The onion rings were crisp, with the inside onion still very hot and crisp as well.
Home style food at a very good price, They play traditional old-school Drive-in music and its like a step back in time. Bring the dog, and they might even through in a free dog for him/her!
And the root beer. Oh. Oh that root beer.
They make it year round from a secret recipe, and it has a distinct very vanilla-y taste, almost a sarsaparilla and cream soda mix. If it didn't go flat so fast we'd by gallons of it! We each got our own large root beer, its just too good to try and share! Its the only root beer I'll drink.
This place used to be the most happening drive-thru in town, and we love it for what's in its name: The Dogs and The Mugs!
