Jeannie's House Cafe was previously the White House (located across from Adams High School). Â It was purchased a year or so ago and reopened as Jeannie's. Â There was a fire that lead to a huge remodel and the re-opened Jeannie's House Cafe. Â It's got a cute, comfy feel that a diner should have. Â We live nearby and finally stopped in for breakfast. Â We were there early and only a few seats where filled - supposedly the rush tends to hit around 7:30-8:30 in the morning.
The menu consists of standard diner fare (and is filled with misspellings!). Â I ordered the Denver Omelet and my husband ordered the Pile of Hash. Â Everything is cooked in front of you on the flat top. Â The omelet was perfect - thin egg layer stuffed with ham, onions, peppers and a little cheese. Â It was served with a side of home fries and toast. Â Home fries where nicely crisped and seasoned. Â I'm not sure where they get their bread, but even the wheat toast was great!
My husband LOVED his Pile of Hash. Â He's finally found homemade corned beef hash that meets his standards! Â The corned beef was actually shredded rather than just chopped up. Â It was perfectly crisped and served with two sunny side up eggs (also perfectly cooked). Â It wa mus also served with a side of home fries and toast.
Coffee was fresh and good - our mugs never emptied. Â Breakfast for two was $20 (CASH ONLY!).
They recently extended their hours and are now open for dinner (til 8) on Thursdays and Fridays. Â
If you are looking for great diner food - don't miss out on Jeannie's House!
