South Bend's "fancy" urban restaurant (Carriage House being its country cousin), this place is nice...it is not 5 stars in my book broadly speaking, but certainly is for South Bend, and because, well, they really try. It reminds me of a hybrid between two restaurants in town where I live called Veritas and The Republic. Great, highly competent and fun staff...they can make a mean cocktail here. The wine list is extensive, well chosen, and changing, and the sommeliers are very good. Empasis on local ingredients (this is farm country) and the more exotic. Have never had a bad meal here, from starters to dessert.
