The Bendix Cafe

The Bendix has become our go-to place for breakfast on the weekend. The food is typical "Greek" diner. They have an extensive menu, and everything we've tried has been consistently good. I always take half of my meal home and have it for lunch the next day; my husband eats everything on his plate then complains that he ate too much.

The staff is incredibly friendly and hard-working. We have our beverage order within seconds of being seated because they get it when we walk in the door. We only go out for breakfast about twice a month, so I consider this extraordinary. The service is fast, and my glass is never empty.

It doesn't look like much, and it's not in a fantastic location (corner of Miami and Indiana), but The Bendix is a gem. You know it's good because there's nearly always a group of firefighters or police officers eating there - that's how you pick a solid breakfast joint. Their lunch selections are good too!
