I'm giving the pizza 3.5 stars/4 stars.....there are many options in terms of pizza in South Bend depending on your taste- you have Chicago style deep dish, the typical fast food fare such as Dominos and Papa Johns, and the family-friendly neighborhood institutions like Brunos and Roccos, etc

What differentiates HotBox are the high quality ingredients- ricotta, wisconsin cheddar, mozzarella cheese, wheat and gluten free pizza crusts and the pie of the week (which is a very good deal in terms of price for the quality of pizza). The combination of ingredients are original and interesting- this week's pie special included baby broccoli, roma tomatoes, fresh garlic, and fotina cheese- 50% off.

I would lean towards 4 stars for convenience- after a football game- it was only a 20 minute wait for a pick-up order compared to the 2 hour wait at the Mark sans reservation and the other Eddy Street options.

This place was literally a shelter in the storm last night in South Bend. The decor features some very well drawn figures against a crimson background. We were seated quickly, and because of the slow activity in town, we were served within 10 minutes of ordering! We got the Porky and Cheese pizzas, and every bite was worth it: the cheese was rich, the meat was tender, and the sauce was phenomenal. Will definitely return next time I'm up here. :)

I've heard a lot of raving about how great the Hot Box Pizza is. After making my way to Eddy Street Commons for lunch I was stuck with deciding between Chipotle, 5 guys or Hot box. The other two didn't sound very good at the time so I decided it was time to give the hot box a shot. It was also convenient that they were running a $5.99 lunch box special.

This place has a great setup for lunch. Plenty of seating. Not overly bright. Not overly crowded. Lots of TV's and fast service. The menu is a little confusing, and there 5 dollar pizza box was pretty straight forward yet a little confusing , if that makes sense. I decided to go with a "large slice" of supreme pizza and breadsticks w/ cheese.

The food only took about 4 minutes to come out. The first thing I noticed was how everything was piping hot. The breadsticks were not the best I've had but were very edible. The cheese was pretty good. Not too salty, not too bland. The pizza was not all it's been hyped up to be. It kind of reminded me of Tostito's Party Pizza made fresh. I would definitely say it's behind Pizza Hutt, Domino's, Papa Johns, Hungry Howies, but just ahead of Little Caesars.

Regardless of it being just "ok" pizza I think I can see myself coming back for lunch again. It was quiet, quick and a good value for $6. Someplace I could see meeting my wife for lunch again in the future.
