Third Alarm Family Grill

SUCKED , SURREALISTIC!
I brought in my <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> certificate to Third alarm Grill in South Bend, IN at 6:15.
I was told they were having "technical difficulties" and instead  of the certificate would give 20% off on the meal.
I told her that I have NEVER had anyone experience technical difficulties with <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> and to attempt the phone contact.
Since  my son was on-call and we did not have the time to go any other place, we acquiesced.
Waitress was dressed in a dirty, worn T-shirt, slovenly shorts.
The waitress did not ttake our order for 10 minutes.   There were two men and a 9 month pregnant woman having contractions  4 minutes apart in the restaurant; the only other people in the restaurant.
They were also dressed in the same manner.
Waitress  spent the time socializing with the three, singing along with them.   They had no food on the table, two glasses of water only.   The songs were NOT songs of support for the woman delivering her baby.  The waitress continuouslyplayed with her hair and touched food items without washing her hands!!!
She took our order of third alarm burger and a "steak" on an Asiago bun.   My son asked to substitute sweet potato fries for which there was an extra charge of $2.
When our order finally arrived,   there were 7 short sweet potato  fries.    There was no Cajun sauce to go with them as indicated on menu.   My steak on a bun was the grizzliest I have ever had .... and I grew up eating beef from range milk cows!   I saved the largest portion of it for my daughter's Dobermans.
When we finally got the waitress to respond, we asked her to get us the cajun sauce.   She went  about  doing other things, including more "socialization" and commiseration.
  Another couple entered the restaurant.   She eventually waited on them.   After the fries had already cooled, I finally made contact with waitress and queried as to the cajun sauce.
She said "Oh, I forgot."   She went to the kitchen and came back with "He ran out of the sauce earlier in the day and doesn't want to make up some, sorry".
In the meantime, the pregnant woman and her entourage who had been walking around the restaurant  and sitting down called her physician.   They mentioned suing the restaurant if the woman fell off the chair.   The waitress said "Oh Andrea, don't have your baby here. " and hugged the woman.

It was now 7:30... all this time for a bad meal and no service.   I stood up and asked for a box and the bill.  It arrived, with the extra charge but NOT the 20% discount.
My son looked at it, took out cash so we wouldn't have to deal with an even slower service in using charge cards.  Waitress now went to cash register and apparently was attempting to figure out HOW to calculate 20% discount.   She finally called manager on phone and we could hear her talking about 20%.   At this point it was 7:45 and we were late for his on-call.
We did not ask for change for the $ we gave her;   as we left I said : You couldn't even figure a discount".
She said " I just talked to my manager, we'll have the technical difficulties fixed in a week".    I said " That won't matter because we won't be back".

This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had... and I have eaten some very unusual foods in some of the weirdest places on different continents.
She never attempted to call <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a>.   She never attempted give me back my <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> certificate.
She never did any of the work she was paid for.  She was dirty and unsanitary.   The lack of service and bizarre behaviour  was enough to say "never ever go there".
